Kelly's Heroes (1970)

Correction: Crapgame said Kelly was a lieutenant before ("a pretty good one, too"), so he still had connections, influence, and respect from other soldiers, especially those who knew Kelly was the scapegoat for the attack on a hill that wiped out half a company of friendly troops. As an example, notice how First Sergeant Mulligan panics when Kelly requests a favor of a mortar attack - and Mulligan outranks Kelly by several pay grades.

Scott215

Corrected entry: The sheriff gets a call at night in bed that makes him go to a store and look for his deputy, suspecting foul play and shows up completely dressed in uniform. If he suspected his deputy was in trouble, he wouldn't have taken the time to put on his uniform.

brantlee

Correction: He still would have to dress himself before leaving, and putting on the uniform would be the same as any other clothes.

Mr. Mom (1983)

Correction: The chain on a chainsaw doesn't move until the engine is revving above idle speed.

Corrected entry: In the restaurant scene, Mick refers to someone else's plate and says 'I like the look of that one' and looks to his left. But Richard, on his right, looks to his right so that Mick can hit him with his right hand while Sue is looking away.

brantlee

Correction: Exactly. Mick points out someone in front of him and to his left. Sue and Richard therefore have to turn right to see the person, because the "fat sheila" is behind them and to their right.

Kelly's Heroes (1970)

Corrected entry: After the bank's front doors are blown open by tank 115, the lead group of GI's, along with the German, come through the front door. As they're approaching the pile of gold boxes covered by a canvas, a second, smaller group of GI's come into the room through a side door. How did they get in?

brantlee

Correction: The explosion of that shell inside the bank would have blown any other doors open from the inside. It is interesting that there wasn't more damage inside the bank.

Black Dog (1998)

Corrected entry: To move the truck, you have to push both the truck and trailer brake release buttons. Swayze only pushes one of them, and causes the engine to shut down. But then he pulls away without pushing the other brake release button.

brantlee

Correction: The red button (valve) is for the trailer, the yellow is for the tractor brakes. The yellow valve was already depressed, meaning he only had to push in the red button to be able to move. The tractor brakes were already released.]

Kelly's Heroes (1970)

Corrected entry: Big Joe tells the gang he's going down to command and get some dirty movies. He returns with a chaplain holding about 10 movie reels. Were they going to watch the movies before or after church service?

brantlee

Correction: The film is a comedy. This is a joke.

Jaws (1975)

Correction: The fact that Hooper, holds the poison shark dart with his hand between the cage bars is not a film mistake, not even a deliberate one. Within the storyline this occurrence is reasonable and perfectly plausible. Hooper, who is very nervous and extremely anxious, stands ready to strike at the shark, specifically in its mouth, as he watches the shark swim off to his left. After pulling off the cork he readies the dart gun again as he looks around for the shark, but is quickly startled by its sudden thrust on the cage, behind him, causing him to lose his grip of the shark dart as he falls back.

Days of Thunder (1990)

Corrected entry: Cole tells Harry he doesn't understand the difference between loose and tight conditions of a car setup. Any experienced racer from open wheels would know the difference.

brantlee

Correction: Not really. He may not know the terms. He can describe to his crew what is happening and they fix it accordingly. You never know what the relationship between him and his crew on the open wheel cars is like. Most of the open wheels have onboard computers that relays information to the pits on what the car is doing.

Animal House (1978)

Corrected entry: In Dean Wormer's office, a man uses a measuring tape to compare the dimensions of the door opening and the dead horse. Then you hear a chainsaw, implying the horse was too large for the door. It might have been too heavy to carry in one piece, but by his measurements it would have easily fit through the door.

brantlee

Correction: That is the joke - he measured the horse's length, which if you carried it the length across the door opening it would not fit. Even by looking at the horse, you can tell it would fit through the door if moved the right way.

Stripes (1981)

Corrected entry: In the scene where the recruits are sitting/standing around telling their stories to Sgt. Hulka, you can see cigarette smoke rising behind one of the men when no one is smoking or should be smoking.

brantlee

Correction: Recruits were allowed cigarettes in boot camp back then.

Grumpy Scot

Correction: He didn't keep it in the factory, just near him. He used the remote control in his watch to constantly keep his Mini near him should an opportunity to escape show up.

Kelly's Heroes (1970)

Corrected entry: When they approach the town of Clairmont, a German officer comes out and gets into a lengthy conversation with the tank crews about cranking up the engines for 20 minutes. It is revealed that tigers have to routinely warm their engines every few hours. If it is routine, wouldn't the officer give a simple command that the tiger crews would expect every few hours?

brantlee

Correction: In German, the tank commander expresses his concern about the low fuel supply, while the officer berates him, telling him that Oberst (Colonel) Dummkopf (the intelligence officer Kelly had captured at the start of the movie) would return with enough fuel for them to go to Berlin. (Remember, that's the reason why the Oberst was in that particular area in the first place, as he said himself: 'I needed petrol for my trucks.')

Corrected entry: When Austin is narrating how he was found as a baby, he says the man found a blood-soaked baby, but the baby has no blood on him at all.

brantlee

Correction: It was Dr. Evil who was narrating, and he was exaggerating.

Piemanmoo

Corrected entry: When Red is working in the grocery store, he mentions through narration that he 'can't squeeze a drop', i.e. urinate, without permission. They had toilets in their cells and wouldn't have to ask permission.

brantlee

Correction: He wasn't talking about the time he was in his cell. During the day every single action is controlled by the guards. Hadley expresses it very clearly - 'You eat when we say you eat, you sh*t when we say you sh*t ...' and so on. While Red was working in the woodshop, or in the exercise yard, cinema, etc. everything he did was watched and timed by the guards, including toilet breaks.

Caddyshack (1980)

Corrected entry: When the caddy picks up Dangerfield's humongous golf bag he has a hard time keeping it on his shoulder. But when he and the others are ogling Lacy Underall, he has no trouble whatsoever.

Correction: Not true.
