Tomb Raider (2001)

Continuity mistake: During the scene in the temple where Lara is getting the first piece of the "triangle", the pendulum she releases has different positions between shots. During one shot you can see it has reached the apex of its motion and is far from the green glass jar. In the next shot it is again much closer to the jar. Second, the green liquid continues to get ejected from the glass even though it is already below the nozzle.

Christoph Galuschka

Other mistake: When the submarine surfaces from beneath Lara, from the submarine's angle it looks like the sub is just coming up and will then level out. But we can see the submarine stays at this angle. And in the next shot we can see Lara resting towards the aft rudder. If the submarine would rise at such an angle with the aft rudder just surfacing, basically the complete submarine would be almost out of the water. This angle and Lara's position would only be possible, if she came to rest at the front side of the sub's sail.

Independence Day (1996)

Continuity mistake: When the alien spaceships open the main gun above the White House we can just see the green light coming on at two people on the ground. When the camera cuts to the view of the spaceship the gun housing is almost completely open.

Frozen (2013)

Frozen mistake picture

Continuity mistake: Just after Anna gets unfrozen and Elsa realizes love is the key to end the winter, Elsa starts to unfreeze everything. She is doing this in the middle of the lake. The ship they are standing on a shot later is not there when she starts unfreezing things. (01:28:00)

Continuity mistake: During the speech which the basketball team gives to Troy, we have shots altering between Troy and Chad. When we see Chad, the two guys behind him are standing basically next to each other. When the scene cuts to Troy, the same two guys are now much farther apart (the right one of the two would be blocked by Troy if they stood as close together as in the previous shot).

Enchanted (2007)

Continuity mistake: As Robert drops from the bent spike, he hits the roof and both he and Giselle are sliding down the side of it. In the shot viewing from above Robert can be seen reaching some kind of ledge on the roof, while Giselle is 1-2 meters above him, also sliding towards the ledge. In the next two shoots (1st from the side, 2nd from below of them) both of them are still sliding down the roof with the ledge no where to be seen. (01:31:15)

Continuity mistake: As McClane is powering up the helicopter to fly to Warlock, the rotors are already up at full speed. The next cut shows the helicopter in full from outside with the rotors turning much too slow compared to the previous and following scene.

Red Planet (2000)

Other mistake: As the ground team are on their way to the mars base camp, Carrie-Anne Moss' character is also searching for the base camp via a fixed camera on MARS-1. As the camera finds the destroyed camp, the view switches between various angles/viewpoints from around the camp. These views would be impossible to take from the camera(s) on MARS-1.

Jurassic Park (1993)

Factual error: Just before Col. Stewart activates his equipment, we can see one of his men working with a welding torch on telecommunication equipment. You can't patch telco connections using a welder. (00:28:50)

Character mistake: As the helicopter crewman sees the Dallas surfacing, he says something along the lines of, "Sub at three o'clock". The next shot is from inside the helicopter and shows the sub and a part of the starboard landing gear retracting pod. This shot puts the Dallas closer to one o'clock. (01:24:00)

The Dark Knight (2008)

The Dark Knight mistake picture

Continuity mistake: As Batman appears in the bank vault, Ramirez looks to Gordon. The scene cuts to Gordon, who acknowledges her to leave the vault. When the scene cuts back again she is already a few meters behind Batman. There's not enough time for her to cover the distance. (00:10:15)

The Dark Knight (2008)

The Dark Knight mistake picture

Continuity mistake: During the scene where Alfred tends to Bruce's bite wounds, the angle cuts several times between Alfred and Bruce. When the camera is on Alfred, Bruce is mostly looking down towards the wound. When the camera is on Bruce, he looks straight at the camera. (00:12:25)

Jurassic Park (1993)

Continuity mistake: In the scene from behind Dr. Grant we can see the cow being lifted straight up. You can see that the cow is rather close to Dr. Grant. Then the scene cuts and the cow is already in the middle of the top of the Velociraptor paddock. Judging from the distance between Dr. Grant and the paddock from the previous wide-shot, and the fact that Dr. Grant made no big moves, the crane couldn't pass that distance between the two shots. Ice Age (2002)

Other mistake: After Scrat's landing you can see three pair of feet who are stomping on him. At least two of the three pairs belong to tetrapod vertebrates (as can be seen when the camera pans up to behind the herd), so where is the second pair of their respective owner's feet? (00:03:10)

Ever After (1998)

Continuity mistake: In the first scene, the king asks Henry "what's this about a servant". During this shot he takes a few steps forward. Then the scene cuts to Henry and we can see the King in the background, again taking some steps forward and saying something, yet nothing can be heard. (01:22:40)

The Core (2003)

Deliberate mistake: In the scene with the first demonstration of the digging laser, they dig/blast quite a hole in the mountain. Even assuming the laser can very easily shatter the rocks substance, still the debris would have to go somewhere, yet there appears to be none. And the amount of power needed to convert matter into energy is not practical.

The Core (2003)

Continuity mistake: Just before the shuttle stops in front of the bridge, we can see the worker being "touched" by the shuttles shadow. In the subsequent shot we can see the shuttle is too far away from the bridge for this to happen.

Christoph Galuschka

Continuity mistake: In the beginning of the movie, we see Keanu clean the boat and then throw a football under water. The scene changes between different shots and we can see Keanu sometimes standing on the ground and sometimes in midwater (most noteable before he swims to the surface). (00:01:50)

Christoph Galuschka

Other mistake: At the end of the film, Dean can see himself in his TV. He looks up to the fire alerter, assuming the camera filming him is up there. The film camera then also pans up to the fire alerter, indicating the camera is there, too. For this angle, the picture in the TV is wrong, as it is taken from the point of view of the TV.

Christoph Galuschka

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: Dean is only assuming the camera is in the smoke detector since that's one of the places he and Brill hid the other cameras. The shot of the smoke detector is just to show the audience what Dean is looking at, even though his guess is wrong.

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the scene where Anakin and Amidala are getting off the transport, they start to talk. The conversation goes on for a short time, and then the scene cuts to an angle where we can see the transport again. It is far to much away for the time they walked and talked. (00:30:55)

Transformers (2007)

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie, during Blackout's inbound flight, Blackout is ten miles out. When the two F-22s take off, the angle between the planes and their shadows on the ground is around 60°. This puts the sun somewhere in the middle of the day. Yet, when Blackout lands at the base it's just after sunset.

Fools Rush In (1997)

Armageddon (1998)

Deliberate mistake: Before the two shuttles dock to the MIR station, Lev initiates a rotation to simulate gravity. The shuttles then dock with their side hatch pointing to the anchorage. As the gravity is pointing away from the centre of revolution and the station is revolving around its main corridor, the gravity would push the astronauts back in to the shuttle and not towards the floor of the gangways leading to the shuttle or towards the floor of the shuttle. Also, the artificial gravity would be reduced to almost nothing at the main corridor. But here the artificial gravity somehow points down in every part of the station, and appears to work equally well throughout the station. (01:09:40)

Armageddon (1998)

Factual error: When drilling you have to remove the debris. This is usually done with some sort of liquid as an agent and supporting machinery. As the asteroid has some gravity the debris won't just flow into space. No machinery/liquid to be found anywhere.

Show generally

Deliberate mistake: Every time the investigators deal with IP-addresses, the addresses on display are impossible. Each of the four parts of an IP-address has to be between 0 and 255. As they do have to use IP-addresses some time, they could use addresses starting with 10. Those would be real addresses although not used as an official IP-address. This isn't the same as phone numbers using 555 - any IP address over 255 just wouldn't work. It would be like mentioning a phone number which uses the symbol for pi.

CSI: Miami (2002)

Show generally

Factual error: Every time the investigators deal with IP-addresses, the addresses on display are impossible. Each of the four parts of an IP-address has to be between 0 and 255. This isn't equivalent to the movie-specific 555 area code for phone numbers - having an IP address outside that range is like having a phone number which includes the % symbol - it's just impossible.

Not What It Looks Like - S3-E2

Factual error: Danny explains how the glass was broken using ultrasound waves to hit the glass at their resonant frequency. He explains it could be done using a mp3-file and a mp3-player. As mp3-players are designed for the human ear, the upper frequency limit is around 20 khz, far too low to produce a sound capable of shattering glass.

Out of Time (2003)

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie, when Ann calls Matt to her house and they are about to make out, Matt grabs Ann with both hands by her throat. The Replacements (2000)

Continuity mistake: During the fight in the bar, the welsh kicker hits one guy in his best parts and grabs the guy by his hair afterwards. Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When the Nazi Colonel discovers Henry Jones sen. aboard the zeppelin, Indy asks him for his flight ticket. In the first shot, Indy is standing right beside the colonel (the camera is behind the colonel and Indy comes in from the right), in the subsequent shot, Indy is standing behind the colonel.

The Core (2003)

Continuity mistake: During the "landing" of the space shuttle, Hilary Swank sets the air brakes to full. The first exterior shot from the back shows the brakes still engaged, the second shot shows them retracted. There was no command to retract them, besides the crew is still trying to slow the shuttle down, so they should still be deployed.

Christoph Galuschka

Factual error: When Harry is beating up Malfoy and the two Slytherin boys in front of the Shrieking Shack, he grabs one of them by his scarf and rotates him around. The center of their revolutions should be at the end of the scarf (where Harry grabs it), but as there is no actual counterweight for the boy he has to balance only his own body, which moves the center of his revolution strongly towards him. Van Helsing (2004)

Other mistake: When Igor tortures the Werewolf behind the canvas, both of them can be seen as shadows, meaning a source of light is creating these images. When Igor hits the Werewolf with his staff, sparks can be seen through the canvas. First, as the image is a projection, the sparks would appear somewhere else on the canvas, and not exactly on the position of the staff's projected image. Even if the images are just silhouettes, the angle of the shot and the visible pillars indicate a much larger size then Igor really is. Second, such an intense source of light would alter the projection of the shadows a lot, not just a little bit in front of the Werewolf. In the case of silhouettes, they would completely disappear, as the source of light is between the 2 actors, and not at the side of them.

Christoph Galuschka

Continuity mistake: Before the lightsaber battle between Grievous and Kenobi, the area where they are standing and where Kenobi "drops" the weight on the magnadroids is a solid floor. The whole preparation-for-battle-scene does not include much movement from the actors. As soon as Grievous begins to move in on Kenobi, both of them are suddenly standing on some sort of bridge, without even passing the dropped weight. (00:56:15)

Continuity mistake: As Anakin is reentering the elevator from the top, you can see the hole being very close to the entrance door of the elevator. As we see from the subsequent shot, Anakin is landing between Obi-Wan and the aft elevator wall (Obi-Wan does a half turn to face Anakin), whereas according to the hole, Anakin should have landed either directly on top of Obi-Wan or between Obi-Wan and the elevator door. Continuity mistake: Director's Cut: During the briefing scene on board of the Sulaco, Lt. Gorman begins the briefing. He gets interrupted by Hudson. Before the shot changes to Hudson, you can see Gorman standing straight in front of the marines and looking straight ahead. In the shot from Hudson, you can see Gorman looking to the right to face Hudson. He still should be looking straight ahead. (00:32:00)

Factual error: Part of the movie takes place in Vienna, Austria. Stargate SG-1 (1997)

Season 1 generally

Factual error: Earth's Stargate is dialed up more then once in series 1. Mostly in the first episodes, the passive gate is also shown with a rotating dialer ring when being called. This is not correct. The called gate only illuminates the chevrons. (This is classed as a 'factual' mistake within the show, not a 'continuity' error, and the option to change type has been removed.)
