Serendipity

Continuity mistake: In one of the ice skating rink scenes, the camera looks at John Cusack and there is no snow falling. It then cuts to Kate Beckinsale and it is snowing heavily.

Factual error: Jonathan is lying in the middle of the skating rink when the second cashmere glove falls upon him. Looking around, he notices Sarah at the edge of the rink. Despite Sarah being a female and the fact that it is snowing, even Nolan Ryan would have a difficult time throwing something as light as cashmere that distance.

Continuity mistake: The phone number Sara writes on Jonathan's back is different than the one she writes in the book.

Question: At the end, are John and Sara married? She's wearing a ring, but he is not. Perhaps they're just engaged?

Chosen answer: They are engaged and celebrating the day they met each other.

Question: At the end of the movie when Jonathan is lying in the middle of the rink, you can see the skaters skating around him. However, everyone is wearing roller blades, not ice skates. I was under the impression that this was an ice skating rink, not a roller skating rink. Am I wrong about that, or is this another blooper?

Chosen answer: It is not a movie mistake. The scenes were filmed at the Trump Skating Rink (formerly called the Wollman Rink) in New York City's Central Park. The arena has traditionally been used for multiple venues throughout the year including ice skating, roller skating, concerts, carnivals, etc.

Question: If Jonathan thought Sara was with another man, why did he call off the wedding with Halley?

Chosen answer: He didn't want to marry Halley anyway.
