Visible crew/equipment: The morning after the police chase Elise asks Frank to tie off the boat. As Frank does this, you see a hairy male arm place a bag next to him. Elise is the only one on the boat so it's presumably her arm but when we cut back to her she's wearing a long sleeved sweater. They must have asked a crew member to stand in. (01:01:19)

Factual error: As Frank walks on the roof, he is being filmed from different camera positions. Filming him from behind, the Rialto bridge is visible in the distance. Filming him running towards the camera, the Guggenheim terrace is in the distance. Not possible, because there is a bend of the Canal Grande between the bridge and the Guggenheim.

Continuity mistake: As Frank walks on the roof, he is being filmed from different camera positions. The location and the number of chimney heads changes from take to take.

Factual error: When the two arrive in Venice, they check into the Hotel Danielli, an actual Venezia landmark which sits on the Lagoon, at least half a kilometer down from the Piazza San Marco When Johnny Depp goes to look out the window of their room, he is looking at the Rialto Bridge... a good 20-25 minute walk on a good day.

Other mistake: Towards the final scene we see Frank and Elise drifting away in a sailboat that moves forward but the sail is not up.

Elise: I'm sorry I got you involved in all this.
Frank Taylor: Why are you involved?

Trivia: This film oddly received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Picture - Musical or Comedy, despite the fact that it's more of a thriller, and also received largely negative reviews.
