Continuity mistake: Right after Charlie and Irene push the car over the cliff, Charlie asks Irene if she grabbed the wallet off the dash and she says no. Later in the motel, when they are lying in bed, Charlie is sharing family pictures with Irene and they talk about carrying pictures in their wallets. Charlie's was at the bottom of the lake with the car. [The deleted scene on the DVD doesn't really help - in it Hank jumps off the cliff to get his wallet, and then Irene follows. However the movie shows Charlie and Irene looking down the 30 meter high cliff and walking away with dry clothes. Deleted scenes can "disallow" a mistake only if they fill in plausible back story, rather than contradicting the "proper" movie directly.]
Continuity mistake: Right near the end of the movie when Irene is saying goodbye to Charlie, her makeup is a lot darker to when she is driving away in the car, it looks a lot lighter and rubbed off. When she is pulled over again by the police and gets out of the car her makeup is once again a lot darker.
Continuity mistake: The movie starts out in the present and then flashes back. The skinny trees in front of the house are tall in the beginning and in the flashback they are small. They grow a little more every time it's been a few years, but when they come back to the present, the trees are still only half grown in one shot. In the next, they are fully grown.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where both Jim's characters are beating each other at the wheel of this red convertible, bad Jim throws good Jim out of the car which was doing some 30/40 mph in a straight line. In the next shot Jim is seen chasing the car on foot: the convertible is now doing no more than 7/10 mph and it's descending a hill after a sharp right-hand corner.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Irene and Charlie run after the train there are several discontinuities: 1) The warning cross disappears in the shot where the last car passes. 2) In this shot the last car looks much higher than when Irene jumps on. 3) The sun direction changes.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Irene and Hank are driving along in Gerke's car and Irene is holding the dart in her hand there are some inconsistencies: 1) The right window is sometimes open, sometimes closed. 2) When she is threatening Hank with the dart her hair is sometimes hanging over the dart, sometimes not. 3) Her seatbelt is sometimes on top of her collar, sometimes under it.
Continuity mistake: When Hank goes after the four baseball players the one whom he gets involved with is grabs a beer bottle. The camera cuts to Hank, then back to the four guys, and the beer bottle is gone although the man is leaning against the truck in exactly the same way as before. This happens before he may want to get his hands free to attack Hank.
Continuity mistake: When Charlie is taking Irene back to New York on his motorcycle they come across a supposed dead cow in the middle of the road, which by the way you could totally tell is fake. Charlie pulls out his gun and shoots the cow a few times then throws his gun off to his right way off the screen. Next screen shot the gun is right next to him.
Factual error: Much of this movie was filmed in the Burlington and Middlebury areas in Vermont. Therefore, there are a lot of inconsistencies with vehicle plates and identifying characteristics of things like particular state trooper uniforms/cars/etc. And yes, the abandoned bridge/railroad trestle/etc. is actually the pedestrian bridge over the Otter Creek in downtown Middlebury.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where the three Baileygates brother's are in a field with tents etc, helping the police to track down their father, Lee Harvey is wearing a plain grey vest. In alternating shots the vest changes to one with black edging, and then back to plain grey again.

Continuity mistake: When Charlie/Hank and Irene arrive at the train station in Rhode Island. Charlie and Hank are having a "fight", during this fight Hank unzips his pants to wiggle his "thing" at a group of ladies sitting on a bench. Immediately after that he falls to the ground and his pants are zipped.
