Continuity mistake: When Freud replies to the German who insulted him for being Jewish, their boss (the Baron) is in a different position as the shot changes. The reciprocal height of the sword and the beer mug of the gentleman to his left also change. (00:48:15)
Continuity mistake: Annoyed at the arrogance of the Baron insulting Freud, Watson spills beer on him and is then about to engage in fisticuffs. The nasty guy wipes his face with his left hand, which turns into the right hand in the reverse shot, and it happens again a few seconds later when he asks if they know who he is. (00:48:50)
Continuity mistake: Sigmund Freud received a telegram summoning him to the hospital for an attempted suicide. He has the letter in his right hand when he turns to face Holmes, but in the next shot, the letter is in his left hand. (00:54:55)
Continuity mistake: Watson does not seem to be convinced by Holmes' theory about 'The Lady of the Lilies' and her escape. As he and Freud move away from the bed, they look at Holmes and the shadow he casts on the wall. In the next shot, he does not cast the shadow anymore, but there is no reason why the lighting would be different. (00:58:05)
Continuity mistake: When Lola Deveraux wakes up, she clings to Freud, who embraces her, holding her at the back of the head with his right hand under one angle and on her upper back under another. (00:58:50)
Continuity mistake: Holmes asked Deveraux for more details about her kidnapper, even if it happened days ago. She is holding on to Freud's upper arm, which becomes his hand in the close-up. (01:01:00)
Continuity mistake: Still in the spires of addiction, Holmes tells his friends that he might be in need of Freud's hypnosis at that very moment. He wipes his face with the handkerchief, but the way he holds it changes very obviously between shots, as you can see by the shape of the fabric squeezed against his face. (01:02:55)
Continuity mistake: Watson clumsily gets up to follow Holmes, who is giving chase to the man that could be Miss Deveraux's kidnapper. He does it, tossing the napkin aside in two different ways in two separate shots. (01:04:35)
Continuity mistake: Holmes, Watson and Freud follow the mysterious man in front of a chemist's. Whenever the guy is looking at them from a distance, Holmes' handkerchief is visible, even when in intermediate shots he tucked his hand, and the handkerchief with it, in his pocket. (01:05:10)
Continuity mistake: When the horses break through the doors, they utterly pulverize them. Then again, when the trio leaves the room, there are significant portions of the doors that are intact. (01:09:50)
Continuity mistake: Just before Freud decides to join in, Holmes and his adversary suddenly changed the coach they are fighting on, from the second coach to the first coach. (01:37:40)
Continuity mistake: When the train crosses a bridge - after Freud shoots the rifle and pulls out the revolver - you can see Holmes and the Baron fighting on the second coach. The Baron trips Holmes, and as their struggle continues, it is revealed that they were on the first coach. (01:39:40)
Continuity mistake: Von Leinsdorf shoulder-tackles Holmes and nearly makes him fall off the train, but Holmes clings to a railing. He is holding the leftmost section of the railing, but in the reverse shot he's holding the rightmost, and it keeps going back and forth as the angles alternate. (01:39:45)
Continuity mistake: When the Baron is defeated, his sword points down and he leans against it, but in the reverse shot the sword points up, and it's still pointing down as before when the camera angle switches back. (01:40:35)
