Continuity mistake: Half way through the film when they are discussing Wayan's drug abuse, his ear piercings change from his left ear to the right ear and then back to the left. Obviously a flipped shot. (00:55:05)
Continuity mistake: In the limo chase scene on the freeway, Joe and Jimmy overtake a big truck and pull in front of it, yet in two following shots, if you look out the back of the window, the big truck has disappeared, then reappears on a wide shot. (01:17:35)
Continuity mistake: When the red Sunbird and the Caddy are driving sown the steep hill, the windshield on the Sunbird changes from passenger side busted out, to completely gone, to completely intact, when they hit the tree at the bottom. (01:18:15)
Continuity mistake: In the limo chase scene on the freeway, just after Baynard's bodyguards shoot at Jimmy and Joe in the BMW, the limo speeds away and Joe drives after them, he clashes with two cars and the right side of the BMW gets damaged slightly if you watch closely, then in the following shot as we see the BMW speed off, the side where it was damaged has repaired itself. Continuity mistake: When Joe uncovers the affair in the bedroom, his wife's robe goes from open in front, to closed (note V of material under her neck) in closeups, to open again in the wide shots. (00:15:10)
Continuity mistake: Got to love how the bullets just glance off Damon's corvette in the shoot out scene when Halle is killed - the corvette appears to have a fiberglass body and should have been covered in bullet holes. (00:30:30)
Continuity mistake: During the chase scene with the Cadillac and Sunbird, the Caddy follows the Sunbird over a berm, launching it into the air. When it lands, the right front wire-wheel hub cap comes off. Briefly the plain black wheel is seen. While going over the cliff, the hubcap is back, and is seen to be back on when the Caddy flips into the pool. (01:17:15 - 01:18:05)
Continuity mistake: Near the beginning of the film in the bar scene, we see Joe and Jimmy Dix talking then, Jimmy throws a punch and Joe catches it, knocks Jimmy down and he walks off. If you slow this part down as Joe begins to sit down again, there is a glass on the table half full with scotch, then when Joe reaches for the glass it is turned over and spilt, as he says, "Spilt my warm cup of piss ". Continuity mistake: When Bruce Willis takes Damon Wayans to his house, Damon takes two glasses and a bottle of liquor and pours some of it into the glasses. A few shots later when Damon toasts to his dead son there is much more liquor in his glass even though he didn't refill it. (00:52:40)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where they retrieve the evidence from Halle Berry's apartment, they come outside during broad daylight, but when they get in the car to listen to the tape it's pitch black outside. (00:40:35)
Continuity mistake: When Jimmy is arguing with his former colleague in the pool of the LA Stallions, in the first shot of him there are two pink balloons and a red one behind the big guy in the pool. In one particular shot there is only one pink balloon, the other balloons are on a string and are blowing in the wind, then after this shot, it goes back to being two pink balloons and a red one behind the big guy. Continuity mistake: When Cory is killed, Joe hears the sirens and puts his weapons up in the air. When the police cars come, Joe walks up to the car that parks directly behind Jimmy's Jaguar. In the shot behind Joe no policeman steps out when the cars drive up, yet, in the following shot a policeman is already standing beside the police car holding his weapon. (00:30:05)
Continuity mistake: On the freeway chase scene, when Jimmy Dix and Joe Hallenbeck are shot at, the window gets shattered by a bullet. In some later shots, the window is completely intact. (01:18:05)
Continuity mistake: When Wayans and Willis are chasing the limo on the freeway, Wayans draws a picture of a bomb to hold up to the guys in the limo. He draws a large circle with about 6 lines coming out of it with the word "BOM" underneath it. When he holds the picture up at the window, there is only 1 line radiating from the circle. (01:20:40)
Suggested correction: The same drawing is used, the top is slightly cropped but the lines are still visible.
It's not the same picture. In the scene (not screenshot), the top isn't cropped and you see there're fewer lines, and the circle is different. Not only that, but we see in the car "BOM" is written differently than what we see when it's against the window. Also, when he first draws the bomb, the holes in the paper are on the left, but against the window they're on the right. One could argue he flipped the page over to start again, but we already know the final drawing is different.
Continuity mistake: When Jimmy Dix is in the bar, and says " to Alex the astronaut" he is holding the glass with his left hand. In the following shot he drinks it with his right, then it switches back to his left. (00:19:10)
Visible crew/equipment: Close to the end of the film when we see Joe in the woods with all the bad guys, he has his hand in the puppet that his daughter gave to him, now as the camera pans down from a wide shot, look to the right beyond the tree and there is a crewmember standing next to a red ladder, the shot is quick but very visible. (01:13:25)
Continuity mistake: Near the beginning of the film where we see Joe and his best friend Mike standing outside of Joe's house, if you look Joe is standing in front of the tree and his car is parked in line with the tree, yet when Mike walks away and Joe turns around, the car is now parked almost in front of the tree, and Joe is standing behind the tree. (00:16:35)
Continuity mistake: When Joe has been kidnapped, and then killed one of the bad guys, Milo says to Pablo, "Take the corpse out of here and fix Mr Hallenbeck a drink." Pablo is holding his gun in his right hand, but in the next wide shot Pablo is now holding his gun in his left hand. (01:03:10)
Continuity mistake: Marcone goes into the parking lot, notices the white BMW, and shoots out the rear passenger window. The front window is now perfectly intact when previously it was shot at during the limo chase. (01:21:05 - 01:31:15)
Continuity mistake: The whole car lands in the swimming pool, with the back end stuck up in the air and the front end down because of the weight of the engine. A couple of shots later with Darian and the pool owner on the phone, the car is now sat up on its front end, which is now propped up on the side of the pool. (01:18:55 - 01:19:45)
