Revealing mistake: In the scenes where there's a video link to the docks shown on computer, there's a bar moving along the bottom of the screen, showing us that it's actually a video that's just playing on the computer.

Visible crew/equipment: Watch carefully the scene where the raptors enter the kitchen (that angle where you can see almost the whole kitchen while raptors are coming in from the far away door). As the first raptor enters the kitchen, you can see someone grabbing its tail to hold the puppet-thing steady.

Jurassic Park mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When Lex and Tim are in the car and the T-rex is attacking them, at one point the T-rex smashes through the roof of the car and the clear roof falls through on top of Lex and Tim. The T-rex breaks it with her teeth, but in the next shot it's whole again.

Continuity mistake: Take note when the vehicle starts chasing Sam Neill and the kid down the tree. When it first starts to fall, it smashes a headlight and damages a foglight. In the next shot both lights are undamaged and operational.

Jurassic Park mistake picture    Video

Visible crew/equipment: In the opening scene, a velociraptor is being introduced into the park from a shipping container. The velociraptor runs into the gate as it opens, knocking Jophery off the top; he falls to the ground and is attacked. As he falls, two hands come in to break his fall and prevent him from hitting the camera or hurting himself.

Revealing mistake: When the T-Rex has a raptor in its mouth at the end, the raptor disappears completely from the T-Rex's mouth for one frame. It's just after it's picked up - the T-Rex swings it left, then right, and as it swings to its left again the raptor disappears. If you want to be even more precise, there's a slatted/stepped white bit above the door - the raptor disappears about 3 frames after its foot moves above that white bit.

Continuity mistake: When Ellie and Muldoon rescue Ian they leave him in Jeep 10 while they go looking for Alan and the kids, and after the closeup of the water filled T. Rex footprint showing an impact tremor, the next shot zooms in on Ian and we can see the driver's side-view mirror has no writing on it. When they're being chased by the T. Rex, in the shots from behind the Jeep we can see that both side-view mirrors have writing at the top and bottom (shown in closeup "objects in mirror are closer than they appear").

Continuity mistake: When both Explorer vehicles are parked at the paddock, in the shot of the goat being raised to lure the T. Rex, the "No! xx:xx:xx

Jurassic Park mistake picture

Other mistake: When Grant and the children are up in the tree, as Tim is telling his jokes the camera pans out and we get a wider view. Obviously placed there to pick up actor dialog, neither of these particular mikes are seen again before or after this shot.

Continuity mistake: When Dennis tries to get the dinosaur to fetch a stick, at first the stick is perfectly straight. Then they show a shot of Dennis from the front, and all of a sudden the stick is crooked.

xx:xx:xx

Continuity mistake: In the scene just after the T-Rex snorts Dr Grant's hat off you can see him and Lex with their backs almost right against the overturned Ford Explorer. The T-Rex then butts upside down vehicle causing it to spin, only now, they have nearly a 3 foot head start.

xx:xx:xx

Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where the cow is being lowered into the raptor cage, the camera shows the ferns and plants shaking. If you look closely, there is the back of a man in a white shirt shaking the plants.

Revealing mistake: When the Dilophosaurus spits at Nedry, you can see the smoke from the gun used to shoot the spit in his face, top left of screen.

Continuity mistake: When the T-Rex has come and nearly destroyed the car, Grant is trying to get Tim and Lex out of the car. Lex then screams and this causes Grant to turn around and cover her mouth. They are sitting on one side of a tyre on the car when Grant has his hat on. In the next shot (when the T-Rex has blown Grant's hat off) they are on the other side of the tyre.

Continuity mistake: When the T-Rex first breaks out of her paddock, she walks between the two Explorers which look to be only a short distance apart- maybe one or two T-Rex-steps between them. But later when the T-Rex is by Grant's Explorer and walks to the one with the kids in it (when Grant is saying "Turn the light off") she has to take about five steps to get there.

Continuity mistake: When Tim is up the fence Grant starts counting for him. When he starts to count, Lex and him are next to the fence. In the next shot, Lex and him are much further away from the fence.

xx:xx:xx

Continuity mistake: Right before Lex and Tim scream when the T-Rex roars at them Lex is holding a flashlight, in the first shot you can see that Lex is staying completely still with the flashlight facing towards the driver seat but in the next shot you can see that it is pointing out the passenger side window.

Continuity mistake: When Jeff Goldblum is sitting in the back of the car by himself and notices that a T-Rex is coming towards him. The wide shot of him shows that the car he is in is near one of the cars for the tour. But when the T-Rex comes and they drive off, the car has been moved to an alternate route for the escape, and they are nowhere near the area they should be.

Revealing mistake: In the shot immediately following Ellie turning on the circuit breakers when the raptor attacks her, we see a light bulb touching its head. There is smoke appearing where the bulb is in contact with the raptors head, the power has been off for a while the bulb would not be that hot after being on for just a few seconds.

Continuity mistake: When the camera zooms in on Dr. Grant helping Lex out of the crushed Explorer one of the hood level fog lights is missing (both should be missing considering the Rex stepped on the hood earlier), but they are both intact in the following scenes.

Continuity mistake: Ellie, Muldoon & Dr. Malcolm are accelerating away from the T-Rex after having found the other Explorer. Just after Muldoon shouts "Bloody move!" and is looking at the gear stick, the shot changes and he is suddenly looking over his shoulder.

Continuity mistake: Just after Timmy puts the goggles on and climbs into the back with Lex she says, "don't scare me" and turns to face him as he crawls into the boot. Revealing mistake: When the Explorers are entering the park through the large wooden gate, during the overhead angle you can see that the perimeter fence isn't continuous.

xx:xx:xx

Continuity mistake: At the end of the scene with the sick Triceratops, just after Dr. Harding says, "I'm in a gas powered jeep", Dr. Malcolm's hands move from on his hips to on his chest, whilst Dr. Grant's hands move from behind his back to in front of him in the next shot.

xx:xx:xx

Continuity mistake: We see Dr. Grant helping Tim out of the car that has just fallen into the tree, then suddenly, they are about 5 feet under the car though the dialogue and split second cut suggest that they had merely just gotten out of the car and had not yet began their descent.

xx:xx:xx

Aaron Lassman

Deliberate mistake: In the scene where the T-Rex is chasing the Explorer, there is a shot of the driver's side side view mirror which says, "Objects in mirror are closer than they appear." This warning is only used on convex mirrors, which are only placed on the passenger side of cars.

xx:xx:xx

Continuity mistake: When Timmy hears the T-Rex stomping and takes off the night vision goggles, his hair in back comes up. In the next shot, his hair is down again.

xx:xx:xx

Continuity mistake: When the T-rex is attacking the kids in the car, in the shot where it stands on top of the car, the metal begins to buckle in the next shot inside the car. When it starts to sink, the metal isn't buckled and you can see the car sinking into the mud pit.

Factual error: When the doctor is showing off the piece of amber that they have gotten the DNA from, there is a problem. The mosquito in the amber is a male, as one can tell by the antennae. Because it is only the female mosquito that feeds on blood, the male should only have nectar in its stomach. To make it worse, in that species of mosquito, Toxirhynchites, both the males AND females are flower feeders, and would therefore have no blood, or dinosaur DNA in their stomachs.

xx:xx:xx

Continuity mistake: When the group are at the velociraptor paddock Hammond says "And that's why we're taking extreme precautions". Dr. Malcolm's head changes from looking sideways to being tilted down a lot more. Also Hammond starts to turn and then turns again in the following shot.

xx:xx:xx

Factual error: The way the car "slides" down the tree as Grant and Tim are climbing down is very unrealistic. Rather than hugging the trunk like it does, the branches (some of which are thick enough) would deflect it away from the trunk.

xx:xx:xx

Continuity mistake: When the car with Timmy in it falls down the wall, it lands in a tree flat again the concrete wall. Yet later when Alan is rescuing Tim, this is no wall to be seen anywhere. Only other nearby trees.

Then, the T-Rex blows the hat off Dr. Grant who, with Lex is at the end of the upturned 4x4 when the T-Rex knocks it but in the next scene they have moved and are not at the end of the 4x4. They are back where they started, to the left of the wheel.

Revealing mistake: During the whole scene of the T-Rex attacking the Explorers you see an illumination that moves from place to place. Sometimes the illumination is in the deep woods, and then it is behind the dinosaur when it is next to the vehicle. When the T-Rex first walks up and sniffs Tim and Lex's Explorer you can even see the light to the left of Rex's head. Since the power is out, no lights are on except the vehicle headlights and they aren't making that much light. Also, there is no moonlight since it is pouring with rain.

Continuity mistake: When the T-rex is attacking the vehicle with the kids inside, Alan gets out of the other car. Even though it is pouring rain and Alan is standing perfectly still, no raindrops are seen hitting his solid, medium-colored shirt. It stays perfectly dry, even though there is nothing overhead that is shielding him from the rain. It is only after the scene cuts to him at the other car that the shirt is suddenly drenched. The rain is obviously CGI.

Continuity mistake: In the scene when Ellie is in the bunker trying to escape from the raptor, she stumbles along the floor gratings and is dragging her flashlight connected to an ankle bracelet. It appears securely connected as indicated by wildly bouncing and being flung around. When the T-Rex starts pushing the Explorer, a profile shot shows that the monster's foot is no more than two yards from the vehicle; yet, in the immediate next shot from the monster's point of view, the T-Rex is obviously positioned 10 or 15 yards away from the Explorer, much too far away to be pushing the vehicle.
