The Black Dahlia's body has been found nude, cut in half, disemboweled and the mouth cut from ear to ear. The case soon becomes Lee Blanchard's obsession to solve this case after he couldn't save his sister and Kay back in his lifetime. Bucky soon becomes involved with Madeleine to get information but to keep it quiet. Blanchard is killed by an unseen person in the shadows after going after Kay's attacker from years ago which may be connected to the Dahlia. Bucky has to solve the Dahlia case alone without a partner but soon cozies up to Kay...
