Corrected entry: During the last big game, the East Wildcats are wearing white uniforms, and the visitors are wearing blue uniforms. Because the Wildcats are the home team, they should be wearing their "color" uniforms (red) and the visitors should be the ones in white.

Correction: The home team wears white jerseys in basketball. Colored uniforms are for away games.

Corrected entry: During "Getcha Head in the Game" Right before everyone is about to do the big basketball dance the guy in the background to the left of the screen mouths "I Gotta" while Troy's singing them.

Correction: It's a musical - if people can sing verses after each other in perfect rhythm, then it is possible that the person who was mouthing Troy's words was simply singing along as a possible backing singer.

Corrected entry: After the principal of the school has told the crowd and basketball team in the gymnasium that they will have to leave the room due to safety regulations (this is before Breaking Free), as the team pace out of the room, in the bottom right corner, you can very obviously see a camera man follow them out of the room before the shot changes to Ms. Darbus.

Correction: That is a camera crew filming the game; we have a crew film our school's football games and put them on public access cable channels.

Corrected entry: In the scene where Gabriella and Troy are in the cafeteria after they have the fight, Gabriella walks away from Troy to a lunch table with a tray in her hand and sits down. After a brief cut to Troy and the two traitors, there is a shot of Gabriella without a tray, followed by another shot a second later with the tray back again.

Correction: It is not "a brief cut" between the shot of the tray being in front of Gabriella and then not. There are actually FOUR shots after Gabriella sits down. When she sits down she is very upset and looks down at her tray miserably, and we see a boy next to her - trayless. Then four shots later we see Gabriella again, but her tray is now in front of the boy next to her, and he's eating from it - because she obviously lost her appetite being upset, she let him have her tray of food. After the shot of Gabriella without the tray, there are no shots with a tray back in front of her.

Corrected entry: When the Evans siblings are sitting in the library, copying the article about Gabriella winning a math contest, the picture of her is on the left side of the text, on the computer, but when it comes out of the copying machine it is on the right side of the text.

Correction: When Sharpay and Ryan search the internet, the top two results refer to Gabriella. Sharpay clicks on the the first, under the heading "Whiz Kid Leads School to Scholastic..." and the story comes up with a photo to the right, showing Gabriella in a blue shirt holding a plaque, to which Ryan remarks, "Wow! An Einsteinette." Then, when Sharpay clicks on the second top result under the heading "Sun High Marvel Aces Statewide...", the story comes up with a photo on the left, showing Gabriella in a yellow striped shirt holding a tall trophy. When Taylor rushes over to Gabriella during detention she is holding two folded sheets, with the two different stories and photos. Although we see Sharpay removing only one of the printouts, she obviously made copies of BOTH stories to sneakily place in Taylor's locker. We don't have to actually be shown every action on screen.

Corrected entry: Taylor always has a little posse following her. When she plays the video to Gabriella watch the boy with blonde hair behind her (I believe his name is Alan). At one point he has thick black glasses and then as it flicks back to him, they're gone.

Correction: I just viewed this and it does not happen. The blonde guy always has the black glasses on.

Corrected entry: During "Breaking Free" Gabriella gets nervous and misses her opening cue. Then, the music replays again, but this time Troy is the one who is starting the song, when Gabriella should be.

Correction: This has been debated so many times. Troy was about to sing, but he saw how scared Gabriella was and stopped the song to talk to her.

Corrected entry: When Coach Bolton is giving his "You are the team" speech, there is a banner behind him that says, "Go Wildcats! Pounce on thee Knights." "The" is spelled with two Es.

Brad Premium member

Correction: The meant to use the Old English word Thee, because they are talking about Knights. They are using it wrong, but that is a character mistake, and an error most people who do not know about proper grammar in Old English would make.

Corrected entry: When Gabriella is singing in the hall, how come no-one heard her singing? In the corridor next to her there are lots of people and she was singing pretty loudly.

Correction: Because this is a musical. It's just how musicals work.

Corrected entry: When Gabriella sings her solo song, notice there is no students in the hall and she is all alone. Suddenly when she turns a corner there is alot of students.

Correction: In the previous scene, Chad tells Taylor that their plan will commence during lunchtime. Taylor also asks Gabriella to join them for lunch as she starts crying. During "When There Was Me and You", it's likely that everyone is either in the cafeteria or outside the school. By the end of the song, lunch could have already ended, and thus students are back in the halls.

Corrected entry: As people file out of Ms. Darbus's class the day after winter break, the kid with the yellow undershirt and the blue jacket comes out of the classroom twice: once when he says to Troy "She's crazy." and another time when the camera switches back to Gabriella as she's explaining her mom's transfer.

Correction: It's likely that he had gone back into the classroom to collect forgotten books for next period.

Corrected entry: In the scene where Troy is waiting for Gabriella for their rehearsal, he looks at his left arm as if staring at a watch but actually he's not wearing anything on his left arm.

Correction: He is teasing her by making it look like he's been waiting a long time; pretending to look at a non-existant watch is an old gag.

Corrected entry: Chad's basketball number is 8 when in reality the number 8 cannot be used in basketball, only the digits 0-5.

Correction: Actually in most cases it is the rule that only digits 0-5 can be used in basketball however, exceptions are made on occasion. For example Kobe Bryant wore the number 8 jersey for many years. Google his image and you can see a picture of him in a number 8 jersey. It wasn't until 2006 that he became number 24. Therefore it is entirely possible that Chad's number is 8.

Corrected entry: During the song get your head in the game if you look closely you can see two teammates bang into each other.

Correction: This really isn't trivia alot of basketball players bump into each other during a game even in practice.

Corrected entry: During the call back audition, Gabriella is afraid and Troy has to talk her into singing. Yet in the song, he starts, so he couldn't have known that she was not going to come in on her entrance, since his was first.

Correction: All he had to do was look at her face to see she was scared and wouldn't sing.

Corrected entry: After Sharpay is hit with the french fries, Ryan grabs it off her shirt, but the french fries are still perfectly in the basket.and not on her shirt.

Correction: Because all the fries are stuck together with the cheese. They do take a couple of "single" fries off of her.

Corrected entry: When Troy gives Kelsi the "play ball" he is wearing his basketball jersey, but as they start dancing, he is in his warm up gear.

Correction: This is a musical. People don't usually break out into song randomly either. Many musicals have people swap clothes when its about to go into a dance routine. Getting technical, this shows the change from a natural, could happen movie to the sort of, wacky, crazy musical dance routine which is all a bit, not real.

Corrected entry: According to Sharpay, she and her brother have starred in the school's productions for the past four years. However, as Juniors they could have only been attending high school for three years.

Correction: First of all, she says they have been in seventeen school productions; she didn't say at which schools. Secondly Sharpay may be referring to middle school and elementary school too, not just high school, because they couldn't have been in high school that long. Later on Taylor tells Gabriella that Sharpay hasn't gotten beat for a part since Kindergarten. So we know Sharpay has been in theater for most of her school career.

Corrected entry: When Troy and Gabriella swap cellphones to give each other their number, they take a picture and put in a number. Both Troy and Gabriella put in less than 6 keystrokes, while the US standard for cellphone numbers is 7 digits.

Correction: If you look closely you can see they each put in seven digits.

Corrected entry: In the scene where Gabriella corrects her teacher's error on the chalkboard, the numbers over pi change between shots, without correction by the teacher.

Correction: There are 3 equations and the camera only shows 2 at a time because it cuts to the teachers face. When you see a shot of her whole body, you see that there are 3 equations.

Corrected entry: After the principal says that they need to get out of the gym for safety, the camera has a wide shot of the gym. When the team runs back to the locker room, you can see a camera, the camera guy, and the guy carrying the cords for the camera on the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

Correction: That is just the camera filming the Championship. Some big basketball games are filmed, it was not the camera that is filming the movie.

Corrected entry: Throughout the movie, the number on Troy's jersey changes from 14 to 10 and back to 14.

Correction: The number 10 jersey is his practice jersey. Number 14 is his game jersey.

Corrected entry: When Sharpay and Ryan are singing "What I've Been Looking For" Sharpay bumps into Ryan and stops singing but in the audio you can still hear her singing.

Correction: If you look closely while Sharpay is singing you can still see her mouth moving after she bumps into Ryan.

Corrected entry: After Troy and Gabriella fight and after Gabriella sings "When There Was Me and You" she walks to her locker and opens it without even unlocking it.

Correction: Character choice, not everyone locks their lockers, I don't lock my locker at school. Many classmates do not either.

Corrected entry: In the shot where the team leaves the gym to go watch the callbacks, there is a camera visible in the lower right corner.

Correction: Its supposed to be a camera from a tv station, I believe. Its the championship game; my high school always had tv cameras at the big games like the championships.

Corrected entry: The song 'Getcha head in the game' was originally sung by a band called B5, they were asked if their song could be redone for the movie, they agreed and both versions are available on the CD.

Correction: The song was written and done for the movie, they got B5 to make a cover of it to release on the CD.

Corrected entry: In the end song, there are two people wearing number 8 jerseys.

Correction: When I was on my school basketball team, there were two number 23's. It's possible to have a duplicate number, at least in school.

Corrected entry: In the scene where the basketball players are in Troy's secret hideout; one of them states that they've never heard him sing but they did during "Get'cha Head in the Game".

Correction: This is a character mistake - not a movie mistake.

Kevin Hall

Corrected entry: When Troy's mom tells Troy to get ready for the "young adults party", his dad gives him the ball. After showing his mom's reaction, the camera turns back to Troy, but his dad is still holding the ball.

Correction: Copied from IMDB.

Corrected entry: When Zac and Vanessa are singing Breaking Free for the last time in the movie, at the second last line 'you know the world can see us' Vanessa forgets to sing her part even though you can still hear her voice. She only realizes she's not "singing" at: 'can see us' and jumps back to singing as if nothing happened.

Correction: That is not Vanessa's voice but Zac's. His voice just gets high sometimes. Vanessa is not supposed to sing at "Can See Us".

Corrected entry: During the scene of the first homeroom class, Ms. Darbus says that the final callbacks are in one week. In the scene where Troy and Sharpey are looking at the audition list, Sharpey asks Troy when the championship game is. Troy says it is in two weeks. That is impossible, because both the callbacks and the championship game were in the same week.

Correction: There was an entire part of the movie that involved Sharpey conning Ms. Darbus into changing the try-out date from the same day as the championship game. So yes it was originally a week away; but then was changed to two weeks away.

Corrected entry: At the end of the movie the supposedly school band starts playing their instruments and everyone is getting ready to sing 'We're all in this together" How does the band know what to play?

Correction: This is like saying, "In the songs from this movie, how does everyone know what to sing?" It's a musical where numerous people can burst out into song whenever about anything. Judging that this is very different from real life, the band bursting into song is not a mistake.

Corrected entry: When Troy and Gabriella are dancing around the moon in Breaking Free, you can see Ryan and Sharpay in the background, and Ryan is bobbing his head to the music. The real Ryan would not do this. He would have looked upset, but instead, he was happy.

Correction: Actually, the real Ryan probably WOULD do this. All through the movie, we see that Sharpay is the competitive one - she just drags her brother along with her. Also, if you look closely at that shot, while Ryan is bobbing his head, Sharpay is looking furiously at him.

Corrected entry: At the scholastic decathlon, Taylor transmits the code to the gym, and the laptop says that the code was transmitted.Taylor then shuts the laptop. We then see the cords, and then the malfunction in the gym. Then, we are back at the scholastic decathlon, and the laptop is still open and says that the code was transmitted.

Correction: They reopened the laptop in order to send the NEXT code- the code causing the stinky chemical so that the scholastic team (particularly Gabriella) is free to go to the auditions. That's why it says "Code Transmitted" a second time- you'll see that a few seconds later the chemical malfunction begins.

Corrected entry: Just before Gabriella and Troy are "caught" by Sharpay and Ryan, Troy is rushing to meet Gabriella by the lockers. When he reaches the lockers he looks down at his wrist to see the time on his watch. However the watch is not there.

Correction: Since Gabriella was only a second later walking up the hall towards Troy, he would have seen her, and then looked at his wrist to siginify time. He wasn't checking the time, he was indicating to Gabriella that she was late.

Corrected entry: During the cafeteria scene, towards the end of the song "Stick to the Status Quo" we see a close-up of Sharpay starting to walk down the cafeteria stairs. The camera angle then cuts back to a view of the whole cafeteria dancing, and you're able to see Sharpay simply standing, next to Ryan, on the ledge overlooking the cafeteria as if she had never started walking anywhere.

Correction: This is not true Sharpay is just pacing forwards and backwards you can see her turn round again just before the camera goes onto the hip-hop dancer.

Corrected entry: In the scene where Troy and Gabriella make it a bit late to the call back auditions, Mrs. Darbus tells them that the pianist isn't there so they can't sing. Later when they start singing "Breaking Free" there are a lot more instruments in the song than just a piano.

Correction: The piano starts the song and is the main accompaniment, so it would be reasonable to say that they can't sing without it. And besides, since they showed up a little late, Mrs. Darbus is not particularly inclined to make adjustments for them to audition.

Corrected entry: When Troy is playing basketball at practice during the song Get'cha Head in the Game, his jersey says 14 with his name, Bolton on the back. Later, at the next practice, his jersey number is 10. And at last, at the game at the end, his number is back to 14.

Correction: Having experience in basketball, I know that Troy could have easily had 2 jerseys.

Corrected entry: When Gabriella starts to have stage fright at the beginning of Breaking Free, Troy's warmup jacket is zippered up, but in as soon as he starts singing, it ismagically unzipped.

Correction: After Troy settles Gabriella down, he signals Kelsi to start playing. Before the shot cuts to Kelsi, you can see Troy's left hand going up to unzip his jacket.

Corrected entry: In "The Start of Something New", Troy's microphone changes between being in his hand and on the mic stand.

Correction: During the first few bars of music, it shows Troy placing the mic on the stand while Gabriella stands there looking apprehensive.

Corrected entry: When Sharpay and Ryan congratulate Gabriella at the gym, you can see Zeke waiting on the right side of the screen for his cue to run in and talk to Sharpay.

Correction: He could have been deciding whether or not to actually talk to her. He was probably deciding to go or not to go. Plus he didn't want to interupt her while she was talking to Gabriella.

Corrected entry: When Troy and Gabriella start singing Breaking Free, Gabriella is wearing her scholastic decathlon uniform, but after it cuts to Troy then back to Gabriella, she is now wearing a pink shirt and a skirt.

Correction: Before the shot goes to Troy, you can see Gabriella unbuttoning her jacket. She walks to the end of the stage and tosses it down. When you see her in the skirt and shirt, she is walking back to Troy after throwing her jacket off stage.

Corrected entry: After the opening song, Troy and Gabriella walk outside to exchange phone numbers, but how can Troy enter his number if the phone is turned the wrong way?

Correction: Troy, like Gabriella, is taking his picture on her phone. Later, he turns it around and enters his number quickly.

Corrected entry: When Troy and Gabriella sing the duet "What I've Been Looking For" with Kelsi, we see Troy looking off into the distance while singing, without having to ever look at the words; if this was the FIRST time he had ever heard this song, then he would have needed to look at Kelsi's piano sheet for the entire song.

Correction: But he heard Ryan and Sharpay sing that song just before he went to the stage.

Chad Danforth: Have you ever seen Michael Crawford on a cereal box?
Troy Bolton: Who's Michael Crawford?
Chad Danforth: Exactly my point! He was the Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. Now, my mom, she's seen that musical 27 times and she put Michael Crawford's picture in our refrigerator. Not on it, in it. So, my point is if you play basketball, you're gonna end up on a cereal box. If you sing in musicals, you're gonna end up in my mom's refrigerator.
Troy Bolton: Why would she put his picture in her refrigerator?
Chad Danforth: One of her crazy diet ideas! Look, I don't have time to understand the female mind, Troy!

When Troy says "I'll sing with her," Ms. Darbus turns around "in response" to his voice before he even says anything.

After the credits, there is an enjoyable one minute scene with Sharpay and Zeke.
