Question: How many letters of marque are there and how exactly they work? The governor said when freeing Elizabeth that there was only one and it was meant for Jack, but Will agreed to the deal with Becket anyway, and he tells Elizabeth that this is going to save them both.Tdjdbidndjdnd Bfjndkdnje
Question: Is it ever explained how Beckett knew of Jack's compass? We know Jack had it in the first film when he used it to find Isla De Muerta and we learn a little later in this film that Jack got it from Tia Dalma. Could it be possible that Jack already had it when Beckett branded him as a pirate?
Question: When Elizabeth tries to board the Black Pearl at Tortuga, Jack is extremely unwilling to let her on. I know there's the element of what he has done to Will, but why doesn't he just let her on, and trade her as one of the 99 souls he needs? I mean, if he can leave Will on the Flying Dutchman to serve for a hundred years in his place, why can't he do it to Elizabeth?benjyrabbit
Question: Is there any reason, other than to further the plot, that Jack and Will fight over possession of Davey Jones's heart? Their plans once they have control of the heart are not mutually exclusive as Will wants to free his father and Jack wants his debt with Jones settled. They have shown previously that they can work together, so why couldn't one of them take control of the heart and make the demands for both?Phaneron
Question: When the crew are in the two cages hanging down and then start climbing up the side, Will is talking about getting to the black pearl. Someone in the other cage says something like, "actually it can be done with six", followed by "oh dear". All the men in both cages suddenly start climbing frantically. What was said exactly and what was the joke?
Question: We are told that Dave Jones and his crew were ‘fishified' (by Calypso?) because they stopped ferrying souls, because Davy Jones was mad when his girlfriend, Calypso, didn't show up after he had been ferrying souls for ten years. So was Davy Jones just pirating after that and always trying to staff up the ship? Why would he need to recruit if they were undead? And what was happening to the souls, before Will became Captain of the Flying Dutchman and fulfilled the duties?
Question: Does a letter of marque absolve one person only or anyone who signs on it (for example Will, Jack and Elizabeth) can be absolved by just one letter? I don't understand how many letters are there or why Will agreed to find the compass if the governor said the letter(s) would only save Jack.ricardoglez22
Question: I think I have figured out the answer to this question, however, I would like further verification. After Jack sends Will onto the Flying Dutchman and Will is captured, Jack is watching through his telescope and Davy Jones sees him then suddenly they are right in front of each other. Did Davy Jones and his crew transport onto the Black Pearl and leave Will and the other prisoners on the Flying Dutchman?
Question: Did i miss something? In the 1st pirates movie, the pirate with the glass eye tried to get rid of Jack and his crew. But in this movie they are part of his crew. I know they sneaked onto the ship, but nobody who saw them questioned them or recognized them as the pirates who tried to kill them before.SAZOO1975
Question: Could someone please tell me how Will planned to get out of the dice game should he have lost without his father's help? Maybe I'm missing something but the whole thing seemed poorly thought out. I mean he goes into the game betting his eternal service against the key just to find out where the key is? If he was trapped on the ship forever, getting the key to Jack or anyone would be impossible so that would be no good. Again my main question is, how was Will planning to get out of the game? Could you also point out any points in his plan should I have forgotten to list them?
Question: When the Kraken attacks the ship near the end, several unnamed "extras" are manning the cannons, getting killed, etc. My question is where did all these sailors come from? All the unnamed sailors in Jack's original crew died on the cannibal island, and they picked up a maximum of four in Tortuga.
Question: In the trailer there is a scene where we see Will possibly on the island where he is reunited with Elizabeth and he says "Where's Jack, I can't leave without him. Never mind let's go." This scene does not occur in the movie but Will does say almost the same thing but he says, "time to go". Why is it different?
