Corrected entry: When Langdon finally succeeds in cracking the code to open the "cryptex", he explains to Sophie that the code-word devised by Isaac Newton could only be "apple", since it had been thanks to an apple that he had discovered that which "had annoyed the Church so much, the Law of Gravity". As far as we know, the Catholic Church had no objection to the Law of Gravity and Newton was living in a Protestant country anyway. Besides, the story about the apple was corroborated by Newton himself, that is true, but its notoriety, a typical "science fairy-tale" is rather recent. The word seems to have been chosen here because it's the only thing that most people know now about Newton (including Dan Brown, apparently).
Corrected entry: When they are arresting Teabing the policeman says the Miranda warning, which is used in the USA, not England.
Correction: This is just wrong - it's called the "caution" in the UK and has to be said at the time of arrest. The one heard is the correct version used in the UK.
Corrected entry: Near the end, Langdon is shaving and he cuts himself rather severely. A few minutes later when he leaves his hotel room and goes to the Louvre, there is absolutely no evidence of the cut - no bandage, tissue paper, etc.
Correction: The cut doesn't have to be severe. When you cut yourself while shaving it mostly looks worse than it is, as the blood mixes with water.
Corrected entry: The scenes at the Louvre are implausible, to say the least. A man is shot inside the museum and goes about painting on the basement and leaving clues and then dies without the security staff noticing it at all. The same happens again when Langdon and Sophie, once they've become fugitives and are searched for, walk around and talk at ease, apparently without the video cameras detecting them. The Louvre Museum is probably one of the best surveilled buildings in the Europe.
Correction: The wing that the curator is in is completely blocked off and no security staff were present at the time. The procedure in a situation such as that is for the security staff to call the police. By the time they arrived, Saunier was already dead. Furthermore, the surveillance cameras in the Louvre do not work as the Louvre is simply too massive for it to be cost-effective to constantly monitor all the cameras. Instead, the gates fall around anyone who takes a painting off a wall (as demonstrated by Saunier) and they are trapped inside.
Corrected entry: Teabing at one point makes the comment that the Bible refers to the cup used at the last supper as the Grail. The Bible does not do this. It gets no mention at all, actually. It was not for several centuries, until the romance of the Grail was written that the cup is given 'magical' powers.
Correction: Teabing refers to it as "The Holy Grail" because that's what he knows it as. He's not stating that the Bible calls it "The Holy Grail".
Corrected entry: Just before the English policemen shoots Silas his gun is in clear view. The position of the slide of Silas' gun indicates an empty gun, but the policemen still fire at Silas.
Correction: This is a character mistake, even policemen make mistakes in tense situations and didn't realise he'd run out of ammo.
Corrected entry: The title of Langdon's book flip flops. Seen title the first time when he is signing books title is "Sacred Femine." However, at 23 minutes into movie, when Fache is looking at the book, the title is "Femine Sacred". (00:23:04)
Correction: The title of Langdon's book is "Symbols of the Sacred Feminine." The copy Fache has is the same title in French: "Symboles du féminin sacré."
Correction: This is more clearly stated in the book, but it's there in the movie as well if you pay attention. Jacques Saunière (the Louvre curator murdered at the beginning of the movie) is the one who made the cryptex, he also wrote the riddle which was the clue to the combination. Therefore, HE was the one who picked 'Apple' as the answer, not Isaac Newton. Whether the apple is fact or fiction is irrelevant, its just the answer to the puzzle.
