Continuity mistake: Where Swazye and Moore are at the pottery wheel, seconds after their hands and arms had been smeared with clay, they're clean.

Ghost mistake picture

Visible crew/equipment: When moving into their apartment Patrick Swazye kicks the statue to make it swing so they can get it inside. As they are looking at the statue, two moving men cross in back of them carring a mirror and as they pass you can see the director and camera crew in the reflection.

Continuity mistake: In the subway scene with the ghost that tells Sam how to move stuff, the crazy ghost hits the cigarette machine and about 5 or 6 packs fall out. In the next scene, there are loads of them in a pile on the floor and we haven't seen any more come out.

Audio problem: At the end of the movie, Carl is chasing Molly and Oda Mae. He says something like "Molly she's a thief!" and something else, but his lips don't move.

Continuity mistake: Toward the end of the movie, Sam is weakening and is seen falling down. When he gets up he staggers over to the window before falling down again. However, he falls in the exact same place he did before - several feet from the window.

Continuity mistake: When Oda Mae is pretending to contact Mrs Santiago's dead husband she first pretends it's too difficult and one of her sisters moves to hand her back her money. When the bill is extended to Mrs Santiago, it's folded the long way and held by the sister at the very end. When Oda Mae pretends to feel something and the shot changes, the bill appears to be folded the other way and the sister is holding it in the middle. (00:40:25)

Continuity mistake: After they take $4 million from bank they walk outside where a young woman with long black hair, blue blouse, gray dress, black purse and white shoes walks by Oda Mae. Sam and Oda Mae argue for a few minutes, over what to do with the check. When they walk over to the nuns, the same woman walks by Oda Mae again.

Continuity mistake: When Carl is pulling Molly off the ladder and putting a gun to her head, you clearly see him thumb back the hammer of the pistol three different times. A semi-auto only needs to be cocked once, and then only if it's a single-action.

Revealing mistake: Early in the movie, just after Patrick Swayze got shot, he chases after Rick Aviles. He was dead at this time, but he doesn't know that yet. He comes back walking through rain and you can see his reflection in the water on the street.

Revealing mistake: When Sam is going back to Oda Mae's, when he's walking toward the door his reflection is visible walking the same way, though he's not in front of the window at an angle this would be possible for a few seconds. I don't know exactly what could cause on the filming side of the mistake, just that there's no way the reflection would look like that. (01:18:05)

Continuity mistake: When Carl is sitting alone at his computer in his office, having found his fake bank account emptied, a glass of water can clearly be seen next to Carl's computer. However, after he sees the empty chair (that Sam is sitting in) roll past him, the next shot of Carl's computer shows the glass of water now gone.

Continuity mistake: When Carl and Willy are storming Oda Mae's apartment the lock on the door magically changes. In the second shot of the lock, it has a hole through the metal part. However, when he shot the door open, it didn't put a hole in the metal. (01:40:25)

Revealing mistake: When Carl is accessing the recently closed account, he moves to a second computer to attempt it. Look at the screen before he gets there. It already has the "account closed" and account information blinking on the screen. It's highly unlikely that he tried the account on that computer before, because when he first leaves his chair he looks around the room for an open computer. (01:31:30)

Continuity mistake: When Oda Mae and Sam first go to Molly's apartment, Oda Mae is seen walking across the street wearing black shoes. They appear to be flats or sandals or something like that. After Oda Mae rings the bell and speaks to Molly unsuccessfully, she turns and walks down the building steps to leave and she is now wearing white sneakers.

Tina Gilliam

Other mistake: When Carl has received the Nassau bank account number from the drug dealer on the phone, afterward you see him typing in "Rita Miller" on the computer. If you watch closely, his left hand pinky never touches the "A" key on the keyboard, yet the "A" in Rita comes up just fine and out of sync with the clicking sounds of the keyboard.

Other mistake: Willie is killed after being hit by the cars in the alley; however, in the closeup shot, you can see that he is still breathing.

Other mistake: When Molly and Sam are "dancing" to the jukebox playing Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers, the tone arm is shown dropping onto the record at the start of the music. When the song finishes, the arm is still at the beginning of the record and then lifts off, as if the reject button was pushed before the record played.

James Phillips

Continuity mistake: When Swayze is walking in the street, he passes the same woman in a checkered suit twice, without either of them having changed directions.

Continuity mistake: Right at the end, when Molly can see Sam as a ghost before he goes to heaven, they kiss. After the kiss, Molly and Sam open their eyes at the same time but in the next shot, Molly just started opening her eyes.

Factual error: Banker Carl (Goldwyn) threatens to kill Molly at 11 pm if he doesn't get his $4 million. Goldwyn goes searching for his money at Whoopi Goldberg's house. Goldberg is arguing with her sisters over whether to watch The Arsenio Hall Show or change the channel to watch Love Connection. In New York, where the movie takes place, The Arsenio Hall Show was on at 11:30 pm (already past the time he threatened to kill Molly) and Love Connection was on at 9:00 am and both shows were broadcast on the same channel.

Plot hole: When Carl is helping Molly out after Sam dies, he manages to find Sam's address book in a box, which he needs to launder the money at the bank. So why does he need to convince Molly to take a walk outside so Willie can break in the apartment and steal it? Carl knows which box the address book is in, and could have easily stolen it earlier when Molly was not in the apartment.

Revealing mistake: When the movie starts, Carl and Sam exit the subway station. A man with a hat on the background can't help but stare at the camera during the whole scene.

Other mistake: In the restaurant scene, when Oda Mae and Sam are trying to convince Molly of Sam's existence, Oda Mae is prompted by Sam to reply "Ditto"as Molly turns to reply, Oda Mae is about to say something else and Sam motions with his hand for her not to say anything...Oda Mae isn't supposed to be able to see Sam, so why did she stop?

Visible crew/equipment: When Carl comes and takes off his shirt, he spills coffee on himself and gets half naked. As he rubs Molly's right shoulder, the scene switches to Sam in the chair. As he leans forward if you look just to the right on the marble wall, you can see a reflection of a man with a camera, blue jeans and blue shirt. No-one else was there besides those three characters.

Continuity mistake: When Oda Mae is with Lyle Ferguson, he asks her to sign a paper that closes an account. Then he gives her a another paper to sign that is yellow. When she hands it back to Lyle, it is white.

Revealing mistake: When Willy enters the apartment and heads for the stairs, Sam dives at him in anger and flies through him. In this shot you can see how poorly Willy was added into the scene. The coloration isn't even close and Willy looks 2-dimensional. (00:32:30)

Revealing mistake: When Oda Mae and Molly are running from Carl, they go to the loft upstairs. As they are running on the planks, the camera shot is from the bottom, and you can see the faces aren't of Demi and Whoopi.

Jack's Revenge

Visible crew/equipment: When Sam follows Willie to his place, a crew member is reflected on the entrance door. A frame before there was no one around.

Continuity mistake: When Willie breaks in and he is attacked by the cat, the position of the keys left by Molly changes between shots.

Continuity mistake: After they give the nuns the money, when Oda Mae spits at Sam, a woman with short dark hair in a green blouse, green blazer and long green skirt is walking towards Sam, past Oda Mae. Sam then says "I love you Oda Mae," and the same woman is now walking past Sam towards her.

Continuity mistake: Throughout the whole movie, Mollys bangs are short. In the end when shes talking to Sam they are longer, below her eyebrows.

Continuity mistake: When Oda Mae goes over to Lyle's desk and sits down, we can see his nameplate on his desk which reads Lyle Ferguson. In the ending credits it's spelled Fergeson.

Plot hole: When Oda Mae takes four million dollars from the account, she hands him one tiny piece of ID. But the name on her ID wouldn't match the name on the account.

Suggested correction: Yes the name with Max and Sam told her to get one of her fake IDs. So the ID would have the name Rita Miller on it.

Continuity mistake: In the film, Willy shoots the lock off Goldberg's door with a Walther PP but when he is looking around the flat he has a Walther PPK.

Visible crew/equipment: After Carl rips the page with the passwords, he is typing on the office computer. The reflection shows some kinds of structure with shades which disappears in the wide angles, very likely the movie's lighting equipment.

Visible crew/equipment: After Oda Mae rings on Molly's intercom she turns around and a lighting shade is reflected on her sunglasses.

Other mistake: In the ending credits, it lists "cemetary ghost". It should be spelled "cemetery".

Continuity mistake: Towards the end when Carl has his gun in Oda Mae's face, he cocks it twice.

Continuity mistake: When Carl throws Molly off his back towards the end of the movie, he throws her into trashcans. They fall over twice.
