Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning

Corrected entry: Roy's motive behind his killing spree is that he's upset his son, Joey, was murdered by Vic. So why kill everyone else, except the person that was solely responsible?

Hurls34

Correction: Roy also loses his mind and snaps. He simply blames everyone for his son's death, not just Victor. He's crazy and goes on a killing spree (just like Pamela Voorhees did). There's no plot hole when a crazy person doesn't act rationally. Plus, Victor was locked up and Roy might not have been able to get to him.

Bishop73

Correction: He could also blame everyone else for not stopping it and letting his son die.

Other mistake: It seems unlikely that the police would have let Tommy keep Roy's hockey mask, as it's evidence.

Suggested correction: Already listed and corrected. It is possible that it was actually Tommy's dream.

Corrected entry: Everyone knows that Jason has a hockey mask with red underneath the eyes. So if Roy really wanted everyone to think that he was Jason, why did he make sure every aspect of his outfit was correct, even the fake skin underneath the mask and his machete, but wore a mask with blue underneath the eyes?

Correction: Roy went insane after losing his son. He wasn't thinking. Many people also would think that Jason changed his mask after his first mask was damaged by Chris in Part III.

Correction: It may also be that he simply had not been aware of that detail. Another possibility is he couldn't find a mask that looked like Jason's so he used whatever he was able to get his hands on.

Plot hole: When the cop shows Pam the newspaper clippings they include what look to be fresh photos of the real Jason from the events of Part IV, yet no photographer is ever seen taking pictures of Jason alive in the previous films and most likely wouldn't live long enough to publish the photo. Plot hole: When the couple go into the woods to have sex, after they finish, the guy goes to a pond to clean up, which is not very far from where he left his girlfriend. A couple minutes later, "Jason" is about to kill her, and she screams very loudly. Despite this he doesn't hear her.

Suggested correction: 1st we don't know how far the pond is from where they had sex. 2nd you notice his hair was wet. He could have been underwater when she screamed.

Continuity mistake: Just before Junior is killed, the level of the stew Ethel is making changes from shot to shot. (00:56:00)

Trivia: A fan theory on Reddit suggest that Roy Burns was possessed by the spirit of Jason Voorhees. There is some credence to this theory considering that the murders Roy committed would require inhuman strength, he broke down a solid wooden door by just walking through it and when he got hit by a tractor, he got back up very quickly. How he got possessed by Jason however has never been explained.

Question: Since Roy was Joey's biological father, how is this possible that he never tried to make any contact with his son? I mean, why didn't he even try to talk to him?

Answer: Several possibilities: 1 The mother requested he not make any contact, 2 They could've moved away, and he lost contact until then, 3 He may have been drafted into the army, and she could've divorced him during his time away and moved into whatever state this is located.
