Answer: As with a lot of robbery homicides, The victim is killed for not following instructions. The killer told him not to turn around, and he did. Another reason is the victim might have been able to identify the robber.

Question: What did Alex eat from the little tin in the cabin?

Answer: It's canned meat, probably deviled ham or chicken. It looks like the Underwood brand that my mother used to buy. It has a pate'-like texture that can be spread on crackers or bread. It's very salty and fatty. (I only recommend it as a last-resort survival food in the event of an extreme global catastrophe).

Question: After Alex trades seats with Christa and Blake, Tod complains: "Because of you I have to sit here and watch fucking Stuart Little." What does he mean by this exactly? I know about the movie Stuart Little but I don't see what it has to do with anything.

Answer: Tod was sitting next to Blake and hoping to make some sort of move on her, or at least chat/flirt with her. Since Alex agreed to switch seats, Tod has to sit next to Alex and is saying now he has to watch the in-flight movie, instead of trying to score with Blake.

Question: The airport scene where Alex is talking to the ticket attendant she says something about his arrival being the same as his birthday? Please explain?

Den Mitchell

Chosen answer: Alex's birthday is 9-25-82. The arrival time is 9:25.

Answer: Wrong. He was born on September 25 and the departure time was 9:25.

Question: How was the plane's explosion able to shatter the terminal windows from that distance?

Answer: It would depend on how powerful the explosion and the resulting shock wave was, though it appears to be a bit of stretch, plot wise.

Question: Here's something I don't fully understand. At the end of the movie just before Carter dies, him, Clear and Alex are all drinking alcohol. They were just graduating from high school, or at least they were going to as Clear said that she and Alex went through four years of it, and only a few months had passed since then, so how are they drinking it at all? Did they have passports and if so, why? Are the rules different in France? Was it a special occasion? I just don't see it happening when you have to be twenty-one.

Answer: The legal drinking ages in Europe are much lower than some states in the USA. In many countries the legal drinking age is 18. In France and some other countries it is 16. In a large number of countries you are also permitted to drink alcohol from a younger age, provided it is with a meal and your parents have given consent. In France it is very common for younger people to drink wine with a meal.

Answer: The rules on drinking alcohol in France are much less stringent than the USA. 16 is the legal limit for drinking beer in France so all they need is their American passport to prove they are over 16.

Answer: Maybe they had fake IDs.

Question: How did the name "Clear" come about? She's the only character with a unique name in the entire franchise, not counting anyone who goes by some sort of nickname.

Answer: This isn't an answer but. To be fair, in the German version of the movie, Tod's name is kept the same because Tod in German is "death." I thought that was pretty unique and cool in itself.

That could be submitted as trivia.

Ssiscool

Answer: According to IMDb, "Clear" is the first name of the assistant to Glen Morgan and James Wong, the writers of the film.

Character mistake: At the memorial service the principal says that it's been 39 days since 39 loved ones had died. But there were 40 students on the plane and 4 chaperones, making the total 44. Now 7 people got off the plane, which means 37 people related to that memorial service actually died, not 39. Two pilots would make up the numbers, but there would be flight crew too, which still leaves the numbers off.

Trivia: When Alex's air ticket is torn at the checking desk before he boards 180 if you look at the ticket very closely there is a piece of text saying 'Your Final Flight'.

Question: I don't get how Alex could have died in Clear's Dad's cabin with the fishing rod opening the door and the rusty fish hook and the knife flying out. What happened behind the door?

Answer: As Alex picks up the fish hook he smiles and says "tetanus". Although not ideal, Death hoped to infect Alex with tetanus, a lot slower a death than intended, but a death nevertheless.
