Ocean's Twelve

Question: In the scene with the hotel clerk, where someone (presumably Linus) calls and informs him that Julia Roberts is coming, why does the clerk roll his eyes and say "we are happy she would consider us again", or something to that effect, and then announces in Italian to the other two clerks that "Julia Roberts is coming" Is this a reference to another movie Julia was in or did she have an incident in Rome in the past?

Answer: It had always been a rumour that Julia Roberts likes to have a big deal made of her being somewhere. It is actually the opposite, so they poked fun at it.

Question: I know the crew is trying to steal the fake egg all for appearances, because they already have the real egg. They are doing this just so that the Nightfox doesn't get suspicious. My question is, why would that really matter? Tolour is going to find out that they stole the egg prior to the bet being made either way. If they fear he won't pay if they stole it before the bet...well, again, he will find this out anyway. They really could have just said right after the bet that they had already stolen it and won. Was the fake robbery more for the benefit of Lemarque's daughter and getting her to ruin her career, so she would board the plane?

Answer: If they'd told him right away, he never would have made the bet at all. And I kind of doubt he'd honor the bet if, right after suggesting the egg (and before even giving the money to Lemarque to hold in escrow), Danny just announced they already had stolen it. It was partially about Isabel, sure, but also about humiliating Toulour and teaching him a lesson for "breaking rule number one."

Question: Is Toulour the guy on the motorcycle next to Detective Lahiri's car when she is trying to get her boss to sign the 1077, when she realises that Ryan and the crew are going to try to steal the egg, or is it just some random guy on a motorcycle? He seems awfully interested in her car. (01:03:46 - 01:04:16)

Answer: We see his face as he pulls up to her car; it's Toulour.

Question: Wouldn't Ocean's crew all be broke at the end, since the $198 million check includes Tolour's $97 million plus all of the combined money they had left?

Answer: No, Tolour agrees to pay Ocean's crew's debt to Benedict if they win. $97 million is what they're short at the time of the conversation.

Question: What could Isabel Lahiri say to Matsui during the interrogation? Why he was so "upset" suddenly?

Answer: We have no idea, nor are we meant to. It's a joke.

It is a joke :) and it's good :) but what could it be? What could she say to his ear :) I'm asking just for curiosity and for mind exercise :).

She is good at her job and knows Matsui enough to have something on him that would make him talk and drop the act. Something personal.

If I had to make my absolute best guess, I'd say it had something to do with that niece of his.

Question: Who was the twelfth member that they added?

Answer: It was Tess.

Greg Dwyer

Question: In Francois Toulour's first scene, he says something in French before switching to English. What was he saying? (00:58:46)

Answer: "What joy, and what a surprise, to see you here."

Visible crew/equipment: When Ocean tells the Nightfox about the fake Faberge, there's a shot of the Nord Train. When we see the left side of the train, watch its window and you will be able to see a camera and a cameraman reflected.

Trivia: The scene shot in Amsterdam Central Station was actually shot at the Haarlem train station. Dutch Railway officials didn't allow the interference of trains schedules on such a crowded station, since they're fined by the Dutch government for every delay. Haarlem is much quieter a station and just as beautiful a location. Also the Europol headquarters are in fact the Hague's City Hall.
