Raise Your Voice

Visible crew/equipment: When Terri sits down to talk with her aunt after Paul's graduation, you can see between her shirt and his pants on her right side there is a 1/8" wire used for the wireless mic.

Factual error: The car accident involving the truck that killed Paul is not realistic. Paul made a left turn and upon completion of the turn, a truck suddenly plowed into him on the driver's side. For this to happen, the truck would have had to be going the wrong way on the same street Paul turned off in the opposite lanes. The movie made it look as if the truck ran a light in the intersection and sideswiped him. In addition, Terri said the other driver "ran a red light." This conflicts the scene - the truck would NOT have a light at all if being in the wrong lanes (the only way this could remotely happened the way the film shows).

Continuity mistake: When Jay and Terri are dancing on the rooftop, the position of Terri's hand on Jay's chest keeps changing with each shot.

Audio problem: Terri takes her friends out to a restaurant, and she starts singing a song, and where she says, "The way you swept me off my feet," her mouth doesn't move at all.

Visible crew/equipment: When Terri and Paul are pushing the car out of the driveway, you can see somebody else pushing the car with them.

Continuity mistake: When Terri's brother is filming Terri and her friend leaving the school, the view from within his video camera says he has been recording for one minute and seventeen seconds, which turns into eighteen. But when we come back to the view from his video camera a few shots later, he is at one minute and sixteen seconds. (00:03:05)

Audio problem: When they go to see the girl who wins the scholarship, as she is playing in the park, when Terri puts different music on the stand her bow continues to move, yet there is no sound.

Other mistake: When Paul is making the DVD, there's a record of Terri performing a song she wrote(One more mile to Jericho). At the very end, outside the school the kids start play some music together with Terri singing. That's supposed to be some random thing like it was before, but actually they play and sing Terri's own song. How come?

Continuity mistake: When Robin has her mental breakdown about not getting the solo she goes out side and begins banging her head against a vending machine. Then Jay comes to talk to her they walk to the edge of the balcony and her shirt goes from collar bone height to almost showing her breast.

Continuity mistake: At the end of Terri and Jay's song, Terri changes her position (which hand is holding the mic, etc) in between each song. It might be deliberate, but it's a mistake none the less, since this was supposed to be filmed in real time. It looks like a music video, which it is indeed not.

Visible crew/equipment: In the shot where Terri has just entered the arts school, when she turns to where there is a door with several panes of glass the shot changes and you can see a person in the reflection watching her, but when she turns back around, he's nowhere to be seen.

Continuity mistake: Terri changes sides of the stage during the last song. It shows her walk to one end, then does close up then wide shot, and she is on the opposite side of Jay. Happens a couple of times.

Visible crew/equipment: When Paul's family are throwing a graduation party in the backyard of their house, you can see a crewmember reflected on the BBQ.

Mr. Torvald: I will also split you up into four groups. Yes, I still count on my fingers. One for each part in the obnoxiously contrapuntal harmony at the end of the book. This is gonna drive you nuts, but when you nail it, it feels good.
