Continuity mistake: When Lex and the predator are going up the tunnel at the near the end of the movie. Lex has the alien head shield on her left arm. But when they are speeding up the tunnel, the shield is not on either arm. If you pause it, you can see the shield missing. When they emerge out of the tunnel it is back on her arm. (01:17:05)

Suggested correction: The shield didn't vanish. Lex removed it so that she could hold the sled with both hands. The shield is right between Lex and the predator. (1:26:58) When they emerge out of the tunnel, the shield is on her right arm.

Corrected entry: Lex makes a big deal out of their destination being a remote island in Antarctica. She says it is one of the hardest locations on Earth to get to. What do they find there? An abandoned whaling station. Hmmm. Not too hard to get to for 1900-era whalers, I guess.

Correction: Just because a whaling station is there at Bouvetoya doesn't mean it was not hard for the whalers to get there. In fact, if it is hard to get to, is it not easier to have a station out there if the whaling in that area is profitable, rather than sending ships there from some further location? (A whaling company wouldn't mind losing a few sailors to dangerous conditions, and judging by all the bones there, I would say whaling on the island was very profitable).

Correction: At no point does she say anything about it being "hardest to get to." She does state it is isolated.

Corrected entry: It was nice for the predators to give Lex the spear at the end of the movie but maybe they could have given her a ride home or some clothing. She was stranded on Antarctica at night with no jacket and a long distance from where the ship was docked.

Correction: When they are on the hunt, Predators are expected to be entirely autonomous. By showing Lex the respect of offering her a trophy, they recognize her as a warrior and would expect her to be able to take care of herself.

Correction: I just finished watching the movie and had this same thought. However, after the Predator ship leaves, the camera shows the Snowcat, which is the proper name for the snow tractor, with its headlights still on. She could have driven back to where they left the ship in relative comfort.

Corrected entry: Lex picks up the Desert Eagle and fires it. The DE is so powerful that even the soldiers who use it have to use both hands. Lex fires it without even blinking.

Correction: It is possible to fire a Desert Eagle one handed, and therefore this is not a mistake.

Correction: She uses both hands and blinks when firing it. Not sure what you are talking about.

Factual error: When they're first entering the whaling camp, a penguin startles Miller. That penguin was a black-footed penguin, which is a bird native to much warmer climates. If that little guy had actually been in Antarctica, he would have died within minutes. (00:20:40)

Trivia: The way the bespectacled guy shines his torch on the eggs that have just popped up in the Sacrificial Chamber (illuminating the facehugger inside) echoes of the scene in the original Alien where Kane does the same thing to the eggs found in the hold of the ship.

Question: Can anyone tell me why the Predators didn't scan the 'token' human survivor or the last dead predator to see if either were infected with an Alien? Especially when the Predator was not wearing his face mask which would serve as protection against this infection.

Ronald Cornish

Answer: When they emerged from the underground pyramid unscathed, the Predators assumed they were not infected. Any Predator, young or old, would have been taught to self destruct rather than be caught or killed. As seen in the previous movies. Lex was given the mark of a warrior, they assumed she was taught their code of honor.

Chosen answer: Given the speed with which the chestbursters emerged from the other humans, it seems likely that these have been engineered by the Predators to emerge as quickly as possible. As such, they probably assumed in Lex's case that, were she impregnated, it would have emerged before that point. As for their fallen comrade, it may well have simply not occurred to them that one of their number would be foolish enough to get himself impregnated. Even proud alien hunters can make mistakes.
