Answer: He's a cartoonist.

Question: What city is this movie set in?

Answer: We are never told where the movie takes place.

Question: Why does this movie have so much product placement? And why did Jon put "Pepsi" and "Wendy" stickers on his train set?

Answer: Movies are incredibly expensive. Product placement helps pay for them - companies will give the studio money if the movies feature their products, which lessens the studio's financial burden. The stickers are likely just more product placement, but in the "reality" of the movie... Jon just probably thought they'd look cool or make the train look more realistic or something.

Other mistake: Jon's Volvo back license plate number in the first half of the movie is T03-851. When he and Dr Liz are looking for Odie, his front license plate number is I35-749. As they are pulling up to the train station, the Volvo in front of them also has the plate I35-749.

Question: This is for the movie and the comics. Can Jon hear Garfield? I'm asking because in the comics, Jon responds to what Garfield says, but Garfield's speech is always in thought bubbles. But in the movie, Garfield's lips are moving. Can someone please explain?

Brad

Chosen answer: Jon makes educated guesses in the comics based on Garfield's body language and surroundings, he doesn't actually hear Garfield in either medium.
