Chosen answer: It's just something the kid came up with. He is not quite all there. It's just something that illustrates how odd the kid is.

Answer: My guess is that they are characters of the Christmas story.

Question: Here's something I've never understood. Who is that guy that attacks Willie in the parking lot near the start of the film? The guy that says "I am not gay". What the hell is he talking about? Then calls him "assclown". Who was that guy and why did he attack Willie for no apparent reason?

Answer: My guess is that when he was a child, he was molested by a man dressed as Santa Claus, and ever since then he has been holding a grudge against people dressed as Santa Claus. You can see him staring angrily at Willie in the bar even before Willie notices him.

Answer: Willie asks the guy if he's off his meds, to which the man replied, "Yes."

Question: If Thurman knows that Willie isn't Santa, why does he ask him questions as if he is Santa? (Ex: The many questions he asks while Willie's in the tub).

Answer: Thurman unfortunately isn't the smartest kid. He doesn't accept that Willie isn't Santa. He thinks Willie is trying to cover his identity as it's always a secret.

Question: Why does The Kid (Thurman) give Willie a wooden pickle? (Does he confuse the phrase "wooden nickle"?) What am I missing?

Answer: The wooden pickle was a gift he made for Willie. Thurman didn't confuse "wooden nickle" with wooden pickle.
