Question: Why did Fleur bring her younger sister to Hogwarts? While Dumbledore is explaining the Triwizard Tournament to the students, there is a shot in which Fleur is shown holding her. Unless she had previously known that she would be chosen as a Tri-Wizard Champion, she couldn't have known that her sister would be needed for one of the tasks.
Question: Why was Dumbledore portrayed as an emotional character in this movie (being extremely sad, worried and angry)? Whereas in the previous movies and books he is portrayed as an kind, calm and all knowing that other characters look up to. Example of this was in the scene where they found out that Harry unexpectedly became a champion. After entering the room, Dumbledore grabbed him by the shoulders and shook him semi-violently. In the books, he simply looked gravely at Harry and quietly questioned him.
Question: This just interests me, but when Harry's name comes out of the Goblet of Fire, and he has to go and join the champions, why is Dumbledore angry with him? There's no way Harry could have submitted his own name because he's not of age yet, and he is not educated enough to over-ride Dumbledore's Age-Line spell or fool the Goblet into accepting him, and there's no way Hermione would have helped him because she's too moral about using magic for the wrong reasons; Dumbledore should know both these things already if he is such an intelligent and knowledgeable wizard.
Question: Perhaps this is covered in the book, left for the next movie, or seen in an extended version, but why is no mention made of Mr. Malfoy being in Voldemort's company at the graveyard? Certainly he's suspected of less than honorable intentions, but this would seem to confirm it.HumbleHeadHonchoOfHubris
Question: What I cannot understand about this movie, having watched it 3 times, is why there is no response to Crouch senior's death by anyone. Having read the book, I assumed it would be made clear at some point that he had been killed by his son, but in fact it's left hanging as a huge loose end. Is it conceivable that the tournament would just continue when the referee and judge has been found dead close to the castle?
Question: When Moody is demonstrating the Cruciatus curse in front of Neville, does he know who Neville is and that it'll cause a reaction? I'm only asking since Moody is Barty Crouch Jr (who tortured Neville's parents) at this point and surely he would have realised that the demonstration could have jeopardised his whole plan by causing conflict amongst the student body, which would have led to him being found out earlier by the teachers.Heather Benton
Question: If Mad Eye Moody was really Barty Crouch Jr. using the polyjuice potion as a disguise, why was he being so nice to Harry at the beginning of the book? For example, when he was showing the class how a certain spells affect people, why was he so happy when Harry fought the spell? Also, when Malfoy almost cast a spell on Harry, why did he get mad at Malfoy?
Question: Regarding Mad Eye Moody. 1: Why is he drinking a polyjuice potion in front of Harry in the classroom? 2: Why does it starts storming in the great hall when Mad Eye Moody enters? Does this has anything to do with it being the wrong Moody? 3: Was Barty Crouch killed by Moody? If yes, did Barty senior know it was his son?Loesjuh1985
Question: Just after Dumbledore announces the TriWizard Challenge, there's a short scene where Igor Karkaroff slips into the deserted Great Hall where the Goblet of Fire is kept. It wasn't Igor who put Harry's name in the goblet, and Viktor Krum submitted his own entry. Obviously the audience was being led to believe that Igor may have been involved in the plot against Harry (he wasn't), but what was the real reason he went in there?raywest
Question: Why does Barty Crouch Jr. flee when the prisoner says his name? Surely the minister's son could easily claim that the desperate prisoner trying to get out of jail's claim is completely false. And was the man in prison in that scene the Damstrung headmaster, and if yes, is that why he and Moody (Crouch) were so suspicious of each other in the trophy room right after Harry's name was drawn?bomberswarm2
Question: During the first task with the dragons, there is a shot of Hagrid in the stands. It seems very deliberate that there is only one other person sharing the shot, although slightly in the background. It really looks like the author, J.K. Rowling did a cameo in this shot. From her statement several years ago I realize she would be reluctant to do a cameo, but is there some more up-to-date information?
