The Matrix Reloaded

Trivia: During the entire freeway chase, almost every vehicle was GM made. GM donated about 300 cars for use in the film. By the time filming was finished, almost all of them were wrecked in some way.

Trivia: Monica Bellucci's dress is some what see through. You can see that she isn't wearing underwear. (01:05:10)

Trivia: In the highway chase scene, the license plate on Trinity's car says DA203. If you look in Daniel 2:3, which says "he said to them, 'I have had a dream that troubles me and I want to know what it means.'" This is possibly making reference to Neo's dream, because he went to the oracle partly to figure out what his dream about Trinity meant. The biblical text is speaking about King Nebuchadnezzar's searching for the meaning of his dream. In Verse 3, the Nebuchadnezzar says, "I have dreamed a dream." In Verse 5, when asked to explain his dream, he says, "The thing is gone from me" (all this is from the classic King James Version). Near the end of the movie as the Nebuchadnezzar explodes as a result of the sentinels' bomb, Morpheus says "I have dreamed a dream, and now that dream has gone from me."

Trivia: Near the beginning of the film, Agent Smith drives up in an Audi with the license plate "IS 5416". This appears to be a Bible reference--Isaiah 54:16--reads as follows (from the King James Version): "Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy."

Trivia: Trinity uses a real hacking engine to hack into the Matrix. She uses Nmap version 2.5BETA25 to find a vulnerable SSH server and then exploits the weakness using the SSH1 CRC32.

Trivia: In the highway chase scene, all of the signs on the road happen to be cheat codes for the video game, Enter the Matrix.

Trivia: The visual effects coordinator, who supervised the following shot, explained. Trinity falls out of the power station window, while firing at one agent, who dives out after her. He explained that the shot was done with Carrie Anne Moss sitting in a chair, with her legs stretched out in gynecologist stirrups. A camera on a track ran past and around her, shooting at high speed (so it could be slowed down to 24 fps). The sequence took over 200 shots to complete and was one of the longest non-CGI sequences of the film.

Trivia: The film's cinematographer, Bill Pope, makes an appearance as the 'sleeping security guard', at the power plant.

Trivia: When Neo meets the Oracle she is feeding crows. The number of crows corresponds to a prediction for the future (appropriately enough). She is feeding 5 crows, the symbol of sickness (of the matrix or humanity perhaps). More crows arrive with Smith and 6 or more is a portent of death.

Trivia: It may interest any of the fans of Reloaded's female stars to know that, if played correctly, and because it follows the films' sub-plot, the Enter the Matrix game contains a cut scene with a rather steamy kiss between Niobe and Persephone.

Trivia: In the Merovingian's restaurant most of the walls are made of square pieces of glass. Many of the glass squares are images of the vertical falling Matrix code.

Trivia: Towards the end of the movie when Trinity is actually going into the matrix on the motorcycle to help turn off the emergency power systems, it appears that the licence plate on her motorcycle said PS352. If you look in Psalms 35:2 (New International Version), it says, "Take up shield and buckler; arise and come to my aid." This could be alluding to how, though he doesn't know it, Neo needs Trinity's help in turning off the emergency power systems so he can reach the door that the keymaker is taking him to, that ultimately leads to the architect. (01:46:05)

Trivia: When Neo is taken by the agents for interrogation in the first movie, we can see a shot of him in the interrogation room from an array of television sets, which zoom in. That's the same array of television sets from the Architect's room.

Trivia: The Architect shows Neo images of the humans that will die if Neo chooses not to go into the Source. Many of those images are from the movie "Baraka." A study of comparative religion, "Baraka" contrasts the purity and beauty of nature and religion with the ugliness and misery of modern technological society. The word "baraka" means "odor of the holy," "fragrance of the divine," "saintly," etc. Interestingly, some of the images that Neo sees are of people who were killed in Nazi and Pol Pot concentration camps, as "Baraka" seems to suggest.

Trivia: Carrie-Anne Moss actually broke her leg during training for the Matrix Reloaded & Revolutions. Not wanting to miss out on working on the movie, she fell into denial about breaking it. She drove home and returned the next day before accepting treatment. By that time, her knee had swollen to twice the size. Even when out of action, she was present at training to give her colleagues encouragement. However Carrie-Anne got no sympathy from Keanu Reeves, saying "Everytime I sat down, he would call me lazy. He drove me crazy!".

Trivia: Agent Smith refers to Neo by name only once in each film. In "The Matrix" when he is interviewing him ("...the other life is lived ... where you go by the hacker alias "Neo" and you are guilty..."). In "Matrix Reloaded" when he knocks the door and says "I'm looking for Neo", and in "Matrix Revolutions" when he says "Everything that has a beginning has an end, Neo".

Trivia: When Neo is talking to the Architect, watch the screens surrounding them. The Architect says they've learned that humans need an imperfect world with evil in it. One screen shows a picture of President George W. Bush while another shows a picture of Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin-Laden.

Trivia: At various times in the movie, Morpheus makes a statement relating to dreams. In Greek/Roman mythology, Morpheus was the name of the god of dreams.

Trivia: When Neo is meeting the Oracle, as well as when he's fighting the Agent Smiths right after, there are a bunch of words spray-painted on the fence, walls and bench, two of which are "one", spelled upside-down and backwards, and "role", which has to do with everyone having a role, or purpose, to play in and/or outside of the Matrix.

The Matrix Reloaded mistake picture

Continuity mistake: During the freeway scenes, the katana Morpheus used as a foot hold to grab the keymaker keeps moving. It was at arm's length from the top when he inserted it; when Morpheus was standing on it, the sword was a whole body length below the top; when Morpheus took the sword out in his fight against the agent, it was back in its original position.

Question: In the final trailer and on the UK DVD menu there is a shot of Neo putting his glasses on and it going to 'Matrix view'. Does anyone know why this shot was cut from the film,it's cool. The background looks like the 'Burly Brawl' location. Could it have been at the beginning of that? Any knowledge of this out there?

Answer: This was made just for the trailers. The same part (without the Matrix code) can be seen when Smith says "suprised to see me?" to which Neo replies "No." and puts on his sunglasses before the Burly Brawl.
