Continuity mistake: When Tevye goes into town before the Sabbath to make his deliveries, a bunch of men and women run up to him complaining about how late he is. Yet as soon as he starts filling the orders and talking there are only men around him. Where did the women go?

Audio problem: At one point near the end of the movie, you can hear Tzeitel's baby crying. Watch closely, and you'll see that the baby's mouth is not moving. It's even closed at times.

Continuity mistake: Near the end of the 'Matchmaker' number, when Tzeitel flops down on the bed, she appears in a slightly different position when the next shot cuts to the girls looking out of the window.

Continuity mistake: During the "Matchmaker" song, a pile of hay is visible behind the girls at one point, and it is in the shadows. A few shots later, Tzeitel and Hodel sing "Be glad you've got a man" and push Chava into the same pile of hay, which is now in the sunlight.

Movie_Freak 1

Continuity mistake: At the end of the Matchmaker song all five girls jump on the bed. Before they jump on the bed both the youngest girls are on one side of the bed. The camera angle instantly changed from inside the room to outside the room looking in the window. The two youngest girls jump on the bed (on their older sisters) but the girl in blue comes from the other side of the bed. There was no way for her to get there with out us seeing her get there. Tevye: As Abraham said, "I am a stranger in a strange land... "
Mendel: Moses said that.
Tevye: Ah. Well, as King David said, "I am slow of speech, and slow of tongue."
Mendel: That was also Moses.
Tevye: For a man who was slow of tongue, he talked a lot.
