Corrected entry: When Andrew does his run around the second floor of the library he passes by a state flag with a confederate emblem on it. The film is supposed to take place in Illinois, that state was part of the Union, not the Confederacy.
Corrected entry: Throughout the movie, Bender is wearing a lightning bolt earring in his left ear. However, at the end of the movie when Claire gives him her diamond stud, and he goes to place it in his ear, the lightning bolt is gone. (00:20:15 - 01:34:08)
Correction: Bender's lightening bolt earring doesn't just vanish between shots. The fact is, Bender and Claire have been offscreen for quite some time before the closeup of Claire's hand placing her diamond stud in the palm of Bender's hand. We didn't actually see Claire removing her diamond stud, but we know that she did it, offscreen. So while Claire removed her own earring, she told Bender that she wants him to keep it, and he removed his. Viewers do not need to see every single moment onscreen.
Corrected entry: Bender has one white shoe on and one black shoe on in the gym, but the scene before he has 2 black shoes on.
Correction: It's clear he found some gym shoes and put one on to be weird.
Correction: You can see him take it off when Vernon throws the basket ball at him and also you can see him pick up his jacket and left shoe when avoiding Vernon.
Correction: In some scenes he has a black boot and normal shoes and others two normals black shoes and then in the gym he has a black shoe and white shoe but when he leaves the gym it falls off leaving him in one black shoes but then in the science on the statue you see he had two black shoes on.
Corrected entry: When John Bender (Judd Nelson) is in the gym shooting hoops and the teacher (Dick) comes in, Bender is wearing a white tennis shoe on his left foot and a black boot on his right foot. His white shoe comes off and is left in the gym so he's then only wearing one black boot on his right foot. The next time you see him and for the rest of the movie he is wearing black boots on both his feet. Where did the left black boot come from?
Correction: Watch the movie from the beginning. Bender arrives by foot, wearing his own, dark, shoes. Bender most certainly found the white shoe in the boys' changing room on his way to the gym. Remember the opening scene even shows that there're sneakers and apparel left on the floor.
Correction: Watch closely when Bender tries to get around Dick (excuse me, Rich) to leave the gym and return to the library. He makes a "fake out" sort of move, toying with the teacher, and picks up his second boot and jacket as he does so.
Corrected entry: The school is supposed to be in Shermer, Illinois 60062, but a Georgia flag (1956-2001) with the confederate symbol is shown in the library. (00:57:14 - 00:57:40)
Correction: The library is shown to have several State flags hanging throughout, not just Georgia's flag.
Correction: This isn't a mistake. It was the Georgia State flag. But the library has several different flags that we see, so it would make sense the library simply had all the State flags hanging around. Not to mention this was filmed in an actual Illinois high school.
