Continuity mistake: When Elizabeth walks out of Janie's house-boat and sees who she thinks is Charles in a boat, she has a mug in her hand. Between shots, the way she holds her mug changes. (00:39:05)
Visible crew/equipment: When the camera passes Elizabeth in the phonebox saying "Yes, that what he said...", the reflection of a crewmembers face is perfectly reflected. Then (in the same shot), as the camera pulls back and goes past the phonebox again, his face is once again reflected. (00:05:05)
Visible crew/equipment: When the nurse pushes Elizabeth into her bedroom and says 'Good night, flake' Elizabeth is standing near a picture hanging on the wall. The reflection of a cameramans arm holding a boom mic is clearly visible in it. (01:07:10)
Continuity mistake: Nigel knocks a box of cornflakes to the floor, and it lands on its side. Then in the next shot the box is standing upright. (00:59:00)
Revealing mistake: When Elizabeths car is stolen, Elizabeth puts the phone down and runs across the street. The camera then pans into the phonebox, and reflected in the grey shiny surface of the phone is someone in a white shirt. (00:06:00)
Continuity mistake: When Fred throws three teddies from out of the closet, they land on the bed that Elizabeth's on. Between shots the colourful, striped doll moves from beside Elizabeth, to behind her on the pillows, to beside her again. (00:15:55)
Continuity mistake: Elizabeth is sleeping, the night she arrived home with her mother. There's a wide shot of her room and there's no glass of water on her bedside table. But after she has a dream about Drop Dead Fred slapping her from behind a pillow, there is a glass of water on her bedside table. (00:13:00 - 00:14:10)
Continuity mistake: As Fred rips up 'Mr Poo', feathers fly everywhere in the air. Between shots the feathers in Elizabeth's hair differ, and then when Fred leads her out the room, all the feathers have disappeared from her hair. (00:16:25)
Continuity mistake: When Lizzie listens to Charles on the phone to Anabella, she drops her prescription bottle. Then when she falls into Fred and they disappear, the prescription bottle has gone. After Lizzie comes back after the surreal journey, the prescription bottle is still there on the carpet. (01:20:30 - 01:27:05)
Continuity mistake: When Elizabeth is having dinner with Mickey, Fred grabs Elizabeth's hand, and starts to shake it while she holds her wine glass. In one shot he's grasping her hand, but then in the next shot, he's gripping her wrist. Between these two shots, which hand he is gripping her with changes too. (00:47:00)
Continuity mistake: When in the kitchen, Elizabeth's mum takes off her pink rubber gloves and then goes off-screen, assumingly putting them away. Then when Fred is getting 'killed by her death breath' you can see the gloves sticking out of the kitchen sink, but a shot earlier than that you could see that the sink was empty. (00:20:25)
Continuity mistake: In the back garden, Fred hits Lizzie in the head with a shovel, then throws the shovel down so it lands by a stand of flowers. Later, when Fred kicks Lizzie and runs out the garden, the shovel isn't there. (00:23:45)
Continuity mistake: When Fred and Elizabeth make the mud pie, as Fred is pouring various things onto the mud, the amount of mud on his hands / wrists differs throughout the scene. (01:01:10)
Continuity mistake: As Elizabeth makes coffee, the direction the milk carton faces changes. (00:19:50)
Continuity mistake: In the restaurant when Elizabeth is eating with Mickey, Fred makes her pour her glass of water on herself. When Mickey and she are chucked out of the restaurant, her dress has a wet patch on it, but when she walks off and Fred follows, her dress is dry and clean in the next shot. (00:49:50)
Continuity mistake: The position of the pile of cornflakes spilt on the floor changes between shots, through the mud pie scene. It also has changed when Elizabeth goes back into the dining room on her own, after her mum taped up Drop Dead Fred. (01:02:50 - 01:04:50)
Continuity mistake: After making the mud-pie Fred jumps into his box. In the closeup as he lands in it and Elizabeth closes it, you can see Elizabeth has pink trainers on. In the previous and following shots she has white socks on. (01:02:50)
Audio problem: When Drop Dead Fred is hanging from the yellow rope outside the boat, and there is water spraying up, Fred says something like : "I dunno" and laughs. Notice this doesn't match his mouth movements.
Continuity mistake: When Fred says to Elizabeth "I'm going to have to be sick on you immediately, lie down!" you can see Fred grab the glass of water from the bedside table. Yet in the following wideshot, Fred jumps off of the bed without the glass of water, and he doesn't put it down anywhere, it's just disappeared. (00:15:40)
Answer: Being late and unreliable is what she did wrong. It's possible it was a pattern and she was warned about her tardiness before and not just a one time thing. Even though we can only speculate this, since that is all we see, it makes sense and adds to showing her life spiraling downwards.
