Continuity mistake: When Nitro is being sent to another prison, as he is put into the back of the van the prison guard on the right has his hat knocked off, but as he closes the door his hat is back on.

Continuity mistake: During the match, when funny music is playing, the guards attack the Mean Machine team. Monk has left empty the area (this is not the part when they do the goal), and you can see that there's nobody in the Monk's area. Change of shot, and suddenly there's a person of the Mean Machine team. Change of shot (when the ball almost enters) and there's nobody again in the area.

Audio problem: When Bill (the guy that sucks in the game but at the end makes the third goal) is showing with the Monk how to attack the other team, he has a lot of pain at the end of this show. When the man that explains everybody how to do this, says "Number 24", Bill says "I can't" because he has a lot of pain, but obviously that "I can't" has been dubbed over.

Factual error: On his arrival at Longmarsh Prison, Danny Meehan is told that the establishment is a 'Cat B' prison. However, earlier in the plot, we learn that Danny Meehan is to be sent to a 'high security' prison. Cat B prisons are not high security prisons. They are known as 'local' or 'training' prisons. 'Dispersal' or 'Cat A' prisons form part of the high security estate.

Factual error: Mr. Hayter is introduced as the Chief Officer of Longmarsh Prison. The position or 'rank' of Chief Officer disappeared in 1987, 14 years before the movie was released.

Continuity mistake: During the final match, Massive's position on the bench changes from sitting normally and facing forwards, to perched on the end and back again.

Continuity mistake: During Monk's demonstration, he grabs the hairs under Billy's right armpit, but Billy rubs the left side in the next shot.

Revealing mistake: In the opening scene Vinnie Jones is driving the red Mercedes CLK convertible. As the scene switches views of him driving, the view of Vinnie and the car changes in a flipped shot.

Factual error: Danny Meehan is sentenced to 3 years, at London Crown Court, for assaulting police officers and drunk driving when banned. He could not have gone to the crown court for these offences. They are summary only offences and would remain in the magistrates' court. Additionally, the maximum sentence, as the offences arose out of the same set of circumstances, would be 6 months imprisonment maximum (in totality). Also, there isn't an offence of drunk driving when banned. This would be 2 offences; driving with excess alcohol and driving whilst disqualified.

Continuity mistake: When Ketch and Chiv grab Danny in the showers, Danny fights back and Chiv drops his knife on the ground. Just as the guards walk in, Danny drops his towel to cover the knife, but throughout the rest of the scene, the towel that was dropped on the floor is nowhere to be seen until the guards turn to leave, then it reappears.

Continuity mistake: When Massive makes the comment about Mr. Ratchet watching too many Tarzan films as a child, Mr. Ratchet grabs Massive by the collar with his left hand. Yet in the next shot, he has hold of Massive with his right hand.

Danny Meehan: I'll tell you something, I didn't start off out as a youngster looking to sell my country out.
Massive: None of us planned to be here, mate.
Chiv: But you're forgetting one thing. You're a hero in Scotland.

Trivia: During the demonstration by Chiv and Monk, Monk grabs Billy's privates and lifts him off the floor. This is a variation on the famous Vinnie Jones move first used on Gazza in the English football league. This move is also in Gone in 60 seconds and can be seen on Vinnie's website.
