Corrected entry: When the Dude is at Jackie Treehorn's house, it's nighttime. It's still dark out when he's shown running down the street as he awakens from his fever dream and is picked up in the cop car. When he arrives in the police chief's office, it's daylight outside the window, and possibly the sun has recently risen, or he spent some time in the drunk tank first, who knows. But then when he's taking a cab home, in the scene with the cabbie who kicks him out for complaining about the Eagles, it's already nighttime again.
Character mistake: When Walter brings Cynthia's dog in the carrier to the bowling alley he refers to it as a Pomeranian while it is actually a terrier. Somewhat related, when the the Nihilists confront Dude in the bathtub, the dude refers to the ferret as a marmot. Walter later refers to the ferret as an amphibious rodent. Perhaps he was thinking of a mink.
Suggested correction: These were purposeful taxonomic (funny!) jokes.
Corrected entry: At the beginning, when the Dude is getting pushed into the bathroom by Jackie Treehorn's goon, right before the Dude gets his head dunked into the toilet, you can see that his hair is already wet.
Correction: The Dude's hair is not actually wet - it looks different than in the previous shot because it is a stunt double wearing a wig.
Correction: There's no stunt double in that scene, but several takes. The goon and the Dude run toward the toilet bowl and before Bridges (with wet hair) is dunked, the scene cuts to a different angle. The "water torture" was shot from two different angles and whenever Bridges was dunked he controlled the action, meaning that the other actor moved along and together they gave a convincing performance. That's acting.
Corrected entry: The last time we see "Donnie" bowl, instead of rolling a strike he knocks down only 9 pins. He then sits down and doesnt bother to go for the spare. Why? I doubt it's because he threw a gutterball to start.
Correction: It could have been the 3rd ball of the 10th frame.
Correction: The way the pins fell it implied it was a "ringing 8." Any right handed bowler knows that's basically a perfect strike ball but somehow the 8 pin is left standing. Donnie may needed to wrap his head around the fact that perfect ball wasn't a strike, I know I do.
Correction: It is not daylight when the Dude and police chief are talking. What you see is a street lamp.
