Revealing mistake: When the Hårgas begin eating their meal after Dani is crowned May Queen, there is a shot of Dani just after the Hårgas pick up their knives and forks where she is looking over at Christian. Sitting next to her is a woman who cuts her food with a knife and fork, raises the fork to her mouth and takes a bite, but there is no food on the fork. She is just miming the actions. (02:13:15)
Continuity mistake: When the male elder fails to die after jumping off the cliff, a few of the Hårgas walk over to him to smash his head with a mallet. When the first Hårga hits him on the head, there is a visible bloody injury caused by the hit. When the second Hårga goes to hit him, just before his head breaks apart there is no sign of the first hit. (01:12:30)
Continuity mistake: When Christian takes out his phone to look up Attestupan, he is holding it with his right hand and his left index finger is lightly touching it. Then it cuts to a close-up shot of the phone and it is being held with both hands. (00:57:00)
Visible crew/equipment: When the Hargas begin taking the bodies to the temple, the scene begins with a shot of Pelle rolling Connie's body in a wheel barrow, before the camera slowly pans around to reveal other Hargas doing the same thing. Once the camera stops panning around, the dolly track can be seen to the left-hand side of the shot. (02:37:30)
Continuity mistake: When Dani is being carried around on a small platform after being crowned May Queen, there is a shot of her where she has her arms slightly extended. It then cuts to a different angle, where her arms are at her side. (02:11:35)
Continuity mistake: When Dani is told to enter the carriage, she asks if Christian can come, to which the woman replies nay. Christian is then shown sitting down at the table. In the shot, there are three different glasses in front of him. The first two glasses are positioned right next to each other, and the third glass is further away from the other two. Just under a minute later, whilst Christian is watching the carriage ride away with Dani inside it, the three glasses are all equally distanced from each other. (02:16:55 - 02:17:50)
Character mistake: There are some musicians at different times in the movie. One of them is playing a moraharpa (traditional Swedish instrument, a predecessor of the nyckelharpa), but holding and playing it incorrectly. (00:38:37 - 01:39:45)
Continuity mistake: After the elders have jumped, the braid of the woman that was trying to explain their custom is loose in some shots and not in others. It goes back and forth. (01:13:32 - 01:14:02)
Continuity mistake: When Pelle is reminding Christian that it is Dani's birthday, in one shot there is nothing behind Pelle, but when the camera changes angles, Pelle is suddenly standing behind a support column. (Director's Cut). (00:54:23)
Continuity mistake: When Josh is drawing the runes of the walls in his notebook, in a close-up shot of the notebook, he is drawing nearer to the bottom of the page. In a different shot, Josh turns around to the left and he is now drawing nearer to the top. (Director's Cut). (00:54:20)
Other mistake: When Pelle is showing Dani the photos on his phone, the first photo he shows is of a group of women sitting on the ground and other people standing in the background. Dani then points to a symbol on the photo and we are then shown a second photo, without any action done to change it. (00:23:25)
Continuity mistake: When Dani thinks about whether to call Christian, just after she puts down her phone, there is some hair shown brushed over her right ear. When she calls Christian a few seconds later, the hair brushed over her right ear is no longer there. (00:03:25)
Continuity mistake: When Dani first looks at the Recents page on her phone, the time displayed in the top left corner is 10:18PM. It cuts to Dani, but when it cuts back, the time has gone back one minute to 10:17PM. (00:03:20)
Continuity mistake: When the man is teaching the boys how to cut the organs out of the bear, there is a bucket beside the table that is a foot or so away from the man. It cuts to an above shot where the bucket is suddenly right next to him. (02:39:40)
Continuity mistake: When Pelle is being thanked for bringing the Hårgas new blood and their new May Queen, it cuts to Christian where he is shown looking at Pelle. Then it cuts to a wide shot where Christian's eyes are suddenly closed. (02:34:40)
Continuity mistake: When Dani gets in the carriage, she hears some of the Hårgas throat singing and looks directly forwards. It then cuts to a shot outside the carriage where she is looking out of the right hand side window. (02:17:35)
Continuity mistake: When Dani, Christian and Pelle are approached by the two Hårgas about Josh and Mark's whereabouts, as Christian says "We have no idea", he is standing right beside Dani. It cuts to an angle behind them and Christian is standing slightly behind Dani. (01:56:10)
Continuity mistake: The morning after Josh and Mark are killed, when they are sitting at the dinner table, a Hårga tells everyone that the Rubi Radr was found missing. Pelle's left hand is raised when the man says this, but when the shot cuts, it's on the table. (01:55:35)
Continuity mistake: When Josh is having the Rubi Radr explained to him, just as the Hårga says "which are graded from most holy to most unholy", he is shown gesturing with his right hand. It then cuts to a close-up shot of the book where the Hårga is now pointing towards the book using his finger. (01:45:55)
Continuity mistake: When Dani and Christian are approached by a woman asking them if they would like to join in on a special ceremony, Dani is sitting on the ground and begins to stand by placing her right hand on the ground to help balance herself. The camera cuts to a different angle where she is standing with her arms extended. (Director's Cut). (01:25:25)
Answer: After having chosen Christian to be sacrificed, Dani's slight, wry smile at the end indicates that she has accepted the cult and is now a willing member.
