Continuity mistake: Colossus has a dent in his head which is sometimes there and in other shots has disappeared.
Factual error: The 7 barrels Wade is on are only 55 gallon drums, totalling 385 gallons, not the 1200 he states. He is also on kerosene, which is not high octane fuel and burns way more slowly than shown. (00:01:53 - 00:02:37)
Revealing mistake: Near the end when the orphans are exiting the building in the bus, you can tell they practised the sliding part. There are marks in the roof of the bus from previous takes.
Continuity mistake: Wade makes a red circle around Cable on the cartoon map which disappears between shots.
Continuity mistake: While Wade fights two guys at his apartment, he uses a pan to stop a punch with the two hands, but in the next shot he uses only one hand.
Other mistake: In Osaka while Wade fights the bad guy at the jacuzzi, he cuts a guy below his knee but the angle is incorrect.
Continuity mistake: While Wade is shooting the Japanese guy, the sword on his back disappears and reappears between shots.
Continuity mistake: At Hong Kong while Wade is being shot at, he jumps to the bar and leaves a blood stain on it which changes amount and position.
Other mistake: At the beginning, while Wade is lying on the barrels, he throws the cigar and causes the explosion. The problem is that the cigar gets in one barrel but another one explodes instead.
Continuity mistake: In the final fight, Deadpool says to Cable "did you feel that too?" and there's no-one behind them at all. Cable moves forwards to kill a guy on the ground, and a fraction of a second later, as Deadpool says "only best buddies execute paedophiles together" an orderly has appeared in the background, who gets shot.
Continuity mistake: When it starts to go slow motion and Cable begins to run for the gun you can see Deadpool in the corner running before the next shot where he turns standing, then begins to run. (01:48:31)
Continuity mistake: When Russell and Wade are shown into their cell, Wade makes a wisecrack, gets tased and falls to the floor writhing in pain. Russell is looking down at him and then turns to look out of the cell. When the camera cuts to the wide shot, Wade is instantly on his cot, lying quietly on his back with his arms folded. (00:34:50)
Answer: That's one of his superpowers, "Comic Awareness" (sometimes called 4th Wall or Medium Awareness). This is something that Deadpool has in the comics and was incorporated into the films. Other than being a framing tool and to be funny, I don't know if the creator, Fabian Nicieza, or any writers have said why they gave Deadpool that power.

Deadpool's trait of breaking the 4th wall appears to have been the idea of writer Joe Kelly, as Deadpool didn't break the 4th wall for the first time until Deadpool #28 in May 1999, more than 8 years after his debut.
