Continuity mistake: Near the end when Jake realises he has to go into space to get to the section he needs to access to put the code in, there is about 2 minutes and 50 seconds left on the Geostorm clock. The next shot he has a space suit on and proceeds into space. The next time the clock is shown it says around 1:40. There's no way he went and found that suit, put it on by himself, and got where he needed to be in under 1 minute.
Factual error: The German woman on the space station has got a German flag on her arm but the colors are in the wrong order in some scenes. The one on her arm is black yellow red but it should be black red yellow. They adjusted it in other scenes but some still show the wrong order.
Factual error: The film opens stating how a series of worldwide events destroyed major cities in the year 2019, and then the following scene shows a subtitle saying "three years later", implying the film's events take place in 2022. There are entire scenes where the President is rallying supporters for his re-election, however this is impossible since 2022 is not a presidential election year.
Continuity mistake: Gerard Butler seems to have the ability to grow a full beard in less than a day, when in some scenes he's only got a few days growth. One example is when he hits the deck of the station donning a full beard, and then he's almost clean shaven when going through a locker. (00:32:30 - 00:43:20)
Visible crew/equipment: Near the end when they kidnap the president and steal the electric car, you can see a stunt pad marked with a yellow "x" as the 2nd secret service agent jumps to the ground while avoiding the car coming out of the parking garage.
Continuity mistake: The guy buying items at the store hears a sound and the eggs fall out. When they hit the ground, only one cracks open. In a second shot, two are cracked.
Audio problem: At the Democratic National Convention when the female secret service agent announces that there is an active shooter, before firing her weapon, her audio briefly switches to sounding as if it were coming through as a PA announcement to the arena. Even though she's speaking into her walkie-talkie.
Continuity mistake: As Hannah walks away from her dad, she is replaced by another little girl for a second. (00:26:25)
Suggested correction: It's the lighting and shadow. It is Hannah though.
It is definitely not the same girl. They aren't even the same height or shape.
