Corrected entry: In the space of 15 seconds (between the time Casey's mom hears her daughter on the phone and the time when she walks out her front door and sees Casey) how did the killer manage to tie Casey onto the swing? It would have taken quite a while to lift her body and twist the ropes around her tightly enough that they held. Stu couldn't have helped as he was with Tatum that night.Shay
Corrected entry: When Randy answers the phone at the party and learns that Principal Himbry is dead, his face is very close to the top of the TV screen. However, when Gale and Kenny are watching the recording of the phone conversation in the van, Randy's mouth and nose are directly in front of the camera. The camera that Gale placed in the entertainment center when she first got to the party was situated on top of the VCR, which was in turn placed on a shelf below the actual TV; therefore, Randy's mouth and nose should not have been visible on the recording. If anything, only his waist should have been visible.
Corrected entry: When Sidney and Ghost face are fighting in her living room he knocks her down and is sitting on top of her. Ghost face grabs her by the hair and appears to headbutt her and pull her hair and slam the back of her head on the floor at the same time. She then puts her hand on her forehead.
Corrected entry: In the beginning of the movie when Casey and the killer are on the phone, she locks the front door and says "I am two seconds away from calling the police." If you look at the door while she is locking it, you will see that there are three glass windows at the top. When the killer rings the doorbell, it shows the door and it now has nine glass windows.
Corrected entry: When Randy is explaining the "rules" and he is standing beside the television the batteries fall out of the remote yet he still manages to change the TV over.
Corrected entry: When Sidney and Kenny are watching the tape of the van from inside the party, the scene they are watching, and what actually took place of Randy describing the "rules", there are many differences in what the people say and do.
Corrected entry: Gail Weathers tells Kenny "I'll be right back" but survives the trilogy. We are specifically told that if a character uses this line he/she will be killed. It's a specific 'rule' of the genre.
Corrected entry: When Sydney is in the police car, she picks up the radio and tells the police that somebody is trying to kill them. Not only does she give the name of the homeowners and the address, but she is attacked in the middle of her conversation, and screams. A few minutes later, Billy grabs her and says that it is a few minutes after midnight, exactly one year after they killed her mother. However, the police don't show until sunrise. What happened in the six hours?AidanN
Corrected entry: When Sydney is attacked by Ghostface in the bathroom at school, Ghostface is wearing black pants and boots, but when Sydney, Billy, Stu, and Tatum are talking in front of the lockers seconds before Sydney goes into the bathroom Billy is wearing blue jeans and vans, and Stu is wearing tan pants and brown boots. How did either one of them change clothes that quickly?AidanN
Corrected entry: When Casey is looking outside at a tied-up Steve while on the phone with the killer, her hair is hanging over the phone. Cut to the scene of Steve, then back to Casey and her hair is pushed behind her ear. Back to Steve, then back to Casey again - her hair is hanging over the phone again.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Dewey and Gale are walking down the street looking for the abandoned car, they see two cars coming towards them on the road but when they jump out of the way you can clearly see only one car pass them. And there are no side roads for the other car to turn on to.
Corrected entry: Sidney is talking with Stu and Tatum at the lockers when someone runs buy wearing the Ghostface mask. She runs down the hall, bumping into Billy, then goes into the bathroom and meets the killer. We know it isn't Billy because we just saw him, but how would Stu get into the bathroom without passing by Billy and Sidney?
Corrected entry: During the final scene in the house after Billy and Stu are revealed as the killers, Billy and Stu showed that they put a great deal of effort in planning the murders and the cover ups. But they seemed to forget their fingerprints. Their prints were on the cell phone and voice distorter they put in Mr. Prescott's coat pocket.
Corrected entry: In the scene in Stu's kitchen at the end, when Billy has just been stabbed by Stu, Stu gives him the knife and is saying to Syd, "Everybody lives but us." When he says that they'll live because they have to plan the sequel, he is gesturing with his hands, with his pointer fingers pointed up. As he's saying, "'Cause let's face it baby, these days, you gotta have a sequel," his hands go in and out of the frame four times. Just as he says "these days," he has his middle finger up on his left hand instead of his pointer finger. Obviously deliberate on the actor's part, but pretty funny.
Corrected entry: When Billy, Sidney, and Stu are in the kitchen, Billy licks the blood on his fingers and says "Corn syrup. The same thing they used for pigs' blood in Carrie." However, after Sidney and Stu had sex earlier, there is no way Billy would have had time to smear corn syrup on himself while being stabbed by Ghostface (Stu). We don't see him rub anything on himself. He couldn't have been wearing a packet of fake blood, because Sidney would have noticed it while they were taking off their clothes.
Corrected entry: Since there were people coming and going to the party after Tatum was killed, and their cars were parked out front, don't you think someone would have noticed a body hanging from the garage door? The news van is also out in front of the driveway the entire time but apparently no one inside sees anything.
Corrected entry: (SPOILER)This may be an actual character mistake rather than a goof, but when Billy reveals that the "blood" on his shirt from when the killer "stabbed" him was actually corn syrup, he also has himself stabbed for real, to corroborate his story. But the problem is, it's the same shirt (as demonstrated when he licks some blood off of it and explains it was corn syrup.) So how would he have explained how corn syrup got onto his shirt while he was fighting off a killer?
Corrected entry: Just before Sidney shoots Billy in the head, look at the Ghostface mask behind his shoulder. It looks pristine, but just after you see the big flash from the gun you see the mask has dry blood over it.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Dewey and Gale are entering the house where the party takes place he talks to Sidney and says anything like "Hey Sidney" and she replies something like "Anything new about my father?". This is really strange because Dewey dropped Sidney and Tatum at the party about only 5 minutes ago. The conversation gives the impression that they have not talked to each other for a much longer time.
Corrected entry: When you see Sidney's dad tied up on the floor just in front you see Stu's bloody hand and you hear dripping blood but you don't see any blood dripping.
Corrected entry: When Gale and Kenny are watching the "Rules" speech on the delayed tape, you hear Randy say "There are certain rules..etc." and when Randy said this he was standing by the TV. Then Dewey comes and knocks on the camera van, and you see Kenny turn off the tape. But when he turns it off, you can briefly see the tape, and Randy is sitting on the couch watching Halloween, when he should have been standing, explaining the rules, as you never see Kenny or Gale rewind the tape.
Corrected entry: In the house when Sidney is attacked for the first time, she runs into her bedroom and tries to call the police using her house phone. When she realises it's engaged (because the other house phone is off the hook), she tries to contact the police via her computer. The police subsequently turn up. Problem is she only got as far as the computer asking what her emergency was. She never stated that she needed the police, so (a) how did the emergency services know what service to send to her, and (b) how did they even know who the request was from?
Corrected entry: At the very end when Sidney finds out who is doing the killing, and she's fighting and wrestling around on the floor with the killer, one minute she has black sneakers on, and the next minute she's wearing her boots when she walks through the door.
Corrected entry: Right after curfew is in effect, when Tatum and Sydney are sitting on Sydney's front porch, you see the killer in the bushes in the background. The very next scene is of the video store where both killers, Stu and Billy, are speaking to Randy. The next scene that follows directly is Sydney and Tatum in the grocery store where you see the killer's reflection on the cooler glass. How can the killer(s) be in more than one place if this is all going on at the same time?
Corrected entry: When the real killer comes into the room and stabs Billy quite a few times, Billy turns around to Sid, he cleans the knife (although there is nothing on it). Then the camera shoots to the killer and he cleans the knife off again, only this time there is a lot of blood on it.
Corrected entry: When Tatum is in the garage, she hears crashing noises and sees the cat. She calms herself and puts her arm on the fridge door as if she was going to close the door, but when the shot changes, her arms are still crossed and she closes the door with her foot.
Corrected entry: In the scene where Sidney is in the car with the camera man, she sees Ghostface walking behind an intoxicated Randy, but later when she is approached by Stu and Randy (both saying the other is Ghostface), she locks them both out.
Corrected entry: When Sidney escapes from the killer in the news van she climbs out the back door that was closed all the time. Later when Gale drives away in the van you can see that the door is still closed.
Corrected entry: When Randy gets shot by Billy, he spins around on the spot yet in the next shot he's flying through the air and lands on the table.
Corrected entry: In the beginning, when Billy is leaving Sidney's room, he climbs out the window and walks away, which isn't possible because all the roofs on the house are slanted and it's at least a two story house. If her bedroom's on the ground floor, why the next night does she go upstairs to get to her room?
Corrected entry: When Sidney is waiting for her friend, it's 7:15 and it's dark out. But later, all the stores are closing because of a 9:00 curfew, and it's light as day.
Corrected entry: Just after the curfew has been set, Tatum and Sidney go to the store, you can see a reflection of Ghostface but, surely the shopkeeper or anyone would notice a man walk in dressed head to toe like a serial killer with a ghost mask?
Corrected entry: As Casey's parents walk into the house and the killer holds the knife above her head to stab her, notice the amount of blood. It is insinuated that he continues to stab her, yet later, when the mom hears her on the phone, the killer raises the knife again to show that no more blood has gotten onto the knife. Kinda weird that the knife seems so clean when Casey's body is completely butchered and bloody.
Corrected entry: In the part where Billy and Sidney are in Stu's parents bedroom, after they've had sex, the killer comes in and stabs Billy. Watch the killer in the background after he stabs Billy - notice that there is no blood on the knife and the killer wipes the knife blade off anyways. Then there's a shot of Sidney, and then it goes back to the killer. At this point in time, there is now blood on the knife and he then wipes the knife blade off again.
Corrected entry: Before Sidney invites Billy up to her room, he is wearing a blue shirt with a pattern on it. Yet, in the next scene (in her room), if you look closely, you can see that the shirt's pattern has changed.
