Continuity mistake: When Fin stops near the school bus, the bus number changes from "278146" to "278245" during the rescue of the kids.
Continuity mistake: While the shark is atop the car roof, when Fin tries bashing it with the baseball bat, Fin's watch vanishes in all of the overhead shots.
Continuity mistake: While Fin's talking to Baz about Plan B, when Baz tells Fin to stay with his family Fin turns around to look at them in the background, but in the shot of Fin's family we see Fin there holding propane bottles, even though he's actually still talking to Baz elsewhere. He cannot be in two places at once.
Continuity mistake: During the bridge rescue, Baz is wearing his multi-studded leather watch on his left wrist and a bunch of bracelets on his right, but in all of the closeups of his arms the bracelets vanish, the watch band changes, and his tattoos are gone.
Continuity mistake: When Fin saves his friend from the shark, in the closeup he has his arm around Fin's shoulder and in the far away clip he doesn't. (00:13:05)
Continuity mistake: When Fin's in the water with the surfer girl, many of his closeups are flipped - note the Tilos logo on the neck of his wetsuit changes between Fin's left, the correct way, and his right which is backwards.
Continuity mistake: At Fin's house, at the bottom of the stairs there's a table and a ceramic lamp at the corner of the walls, and when Collin shouts for Fin's help he's standing at that corner and the lamp has been knocked over under the water, but after Collin's demise the lamp is upright and back in place.
Continuity mistake: Once April and Claudia are in Fin's car, when Fin says, "My luck, sharks," it's raining and the wipers are on, swishing back and forth, but in the next closeup as Nova says, "Mine too," the front windshield is perfectly dry and the wipers are not on, then next shot it's back to rain and swishing.
Continuity mistake: Towards the end of the bridge rescue scene, Fin Shepard cuts the rope below him to escape from the shark climbing up. The shark falls into the rushing water. The problem with this is that the school bus that Fin climbed out of is missing. The bus should be visible directly below Fin and the shark. (00:47:16)
Continuity mistake: When they all walk into the liquor store in the exterior shot, there's parallel parking at the curb outside the store, but in the interior shot looking out we can see that there's perpendicular parking with steel sidewalk barriers.
Continuity mistake: After Claudia says that the tornado's coming, when they're all loading the chopper with the propane bombs there's a closeup of someone's hands lying the bombs side by side - it's a flipped shot, note the backwards writing.
Continuity mistake: When the captain of the shark finning boat climbs below deck and finds the cabin empty, the flask is lying on its side on the table, but then the flask stands itself upright.
Continuity mistake: The characteristics of Nova's large, long, raised scar change considerably from when we first see her at Fin's bar, to later in the day when Matt asks her about it while they're in the surplus warehouse, and it's not even noticeable in many shots where we can see her left thigh between her cutoff shorts and knee.
Continuity mistake: At Fin's house, Baz's watch suddenly vanishes from his left wrist when the water rushes into the house, and then it reappears when he runs from the shark and reaches the stairs.
Continuity mistake: During the school bus rescue Fin rappels down on a rope tied off on the bridge, but the method of how the rope is secured to the bridge keeps changing, and inexplicably there's a pulley with a cable leading from the bridge to somewhere off camera down below.
Continuity mistake: When they're all in the 'movie car', Baz is wearing his leather necklace and bead necklace, but when they get to the flight school the bead necklace vanishes, yet when they all walk into the surplus warehouse that bead necklace is back round his neck, and when they're outside it's gone again.
Continuity mistake: During the scene at the start, the fishing boat engaged in shark finning changes to an entirely different vessel in some shots - note the sails, helm, etc.
Continuity mistake: At the flight school, when Matt, Fin, and the others are hiding from the high winds, one of the magazine pictures is pulled off the wall beside the doorway, but when they all exit after the wind dies down that picture is back up on the wall.
Continuity mistake: After George buys it, while the others are driving to April and Claudia there's a piece of plastic stuck to one of the wiper blades as it swishes back and forth, which keeps vanishing and reappearing depending on the angle of the shot.
Continuity mistake: In the exterior shots of Fin's car, the rearview mirror's style and how it's mounted keeps changing.
