Robocop 3

Robocop 3 (1993)

46 mistakes

Continuity mistake: When the two Ninja robots fight, the robot on the left loses his head before the blade strikes.

Add time

Revealing mistake: When Robo gets his arm chopped off by Otomo, he stands up and in Robovision, you see that he needs power, but you cannot see Otomo who is supposedly right in front of him.

Add time

Other mistake: When Robocop is being repaired by the homeless guys, you can see clearly his stomach going up and down as he breathes. If he's mechanical he shouldn't be breathing, and even if they kept that bit of his innards, he's covered in a titanium shell so we shouldn't be able to see anything moving anyway.

Add time

Other mistake: Near the end, just before the OCP building explodes, when Robocop flies carrying both girls to get out of the office you can see the wires that make this possible.

Add time

Continuity mistake: When RoboCop chases the van in the pimp's car, there is a view of the car driving without a roof, yet the roof is only blasted off in the next shot, after which we see the now roof-less car again.

Add time

Plot hole: At the end of the film, the Rehabs recruit gang members and give them all kinds of guns from shotguns, handguns, and automatic weapons. The cops and deputized citizens have similiar weapons. But for all the shooting, not one gang member is hit and only one citizen appears to be shot (aside from the three blown off the building roof by the Rehab tank.) I don't think anyone has any bullets.

Add time

Continuity mistake: When RoboCop is shot outside the church, he falls backwards against a door. As he then falls to the ground following this, watch his feet. You can see Robert John Burke's feet underneath the metal suit.

Plot hole: The opaque red lined map that Otomo retrieves from his first fight is ridiculous. Why would people who know where the hidden base is be carrying around a map on them (which shows a route so basic that they'd have to be brain-dead not to be able to remember it anyway) just so that conveniently one of their enemies can get it?

Add time

Plot hole: When the elevator door sticks, he pushes the thick metal doors outward as though they were made of tinfoil. But when he reaches the room, he shoots out a silhouette in a flimsy wooden door to get in. How stupid. Total waste of ammunition and spoils the surprise factor.

Add time

Continuity mistake: Niko would easily have been burned by RoboCop's flight pack when she was hanging off it at the end. It isn't that big and Niko's legs would easily have gone down and past the flame holes.

Revealing mistake: When RoboCop has his forearm cut off, you can see Robert Burke's arm covered in black material poking out from beind his back. The arm appears again a few times during this scene.

Plot hole: What was the point of leaving the three men to guard the abandoned base? They would have stood no chance against any search patrol and would have simply given the Rehabs the map to the real base (on one of the three men). And why did the man even have that transparency with the red path, when he had no map to use it with? It was useless to him without a map, and only would have been a liability if he had been killed.

Add time

Factual error: When Robocop flies through the window of the top floor of the OCP building, the Rehab leader's hair blows around. Being that high up, that is absolutely correct. But after the ninjas appear, there is no longer any wind and no one's hair moves. "Robocop 2" tells us that the OCP skyscraper is sixty stories high. There would be a constant "breeze" with the window busted open.

Add time

Continuity mistake: When RoboCop goes back to the underground base, there is a wide shot of him looking around him, and there is nothing on the floor. RoboCop takes 4 steps infront of him and we are then shown a map right at his feet. It wasn't there a second ago.

xx:xx:xx

Padzter

Revealing mistake: When RoboCop gets his hand cut off by Otomo, he stands up and looks around him. We are given a normal shot of the base, but the screen moves in time with RoboCop's head movements. Surely this shot should have been the 'lined' picture that RoboCop has for his POV shots, and not the normal camera view we were given.

Continuity mistake: At the start of the film, when we first see Bertha she is being pushed around by a rehab, and she eventually falls to the ground. She then places a small bomb on a crane she lands beside, and the bomb is pointing to the left. When she gets up and moves away, we go back to the bomb at it is now pointing to the right. Whats also interesting to note is the fact that the rehab doesn't notice Bertha take the bomb out or place it on the crane. Surely if you're standing right behind someone who is on the ground, and you are watching their every move, surely them taking an electronic device out and placing it on an object almost infront of them would draw your attention?

Visible crew/equipment: During the first fight with Robocop, the Ninja makes some jumps, in one of these you can see how the floor is an elastic surface.

Add time

Continuity mistake: Why did RoboCop shoot a hole in the roof of the car at the beginning of the film? Sure it looks flashy and cool, but it is a car, and it has a door. There was nothing stopping him from opening the car door and shooting the Splatterpunks. It actually would have been quicker for him too.

Other mistake: When Lazarus and the head of security concepts are talking about removing RoboCop's emotions, the other doctor speaks up and says that they could install a "microneuro barrier" that would block his emotions. He pulls the bag containing the chip from his lab coat without even looking at the pocket, conveniently. Seems a little unbelievable that someone would carry around a single purpose chip and know exactly where it was if RoboCop hadn't previously been giving them any problems.

Add time

Revealing mistake: When Otomo strikes his sword at the gas station sign, it shows him slicing at the base where the metal ring is. The slice is then shown several feet above the metal ring.

Audio problem: At the beginning of the movie, during the scene when Bertha and the rebels steal the police arsenal, the big guard robot speaks with a metallic voice to make warnings, but in the version of the film dubbed to Spanish, it is completely voiceless.

Add time

Continuity mistake: RoboCop is fast enough to catch a bullet at the start of the film, yet he is not fast enough to avoid obviously coming attacks from a group or street thugs and some ninja robots throughout the film.

Add time

Padzter

Continuity mistake: A blatant mistake if there ever was one. The rebel who is guarding the underground base whacks Otomo with a metal pole on the right hand side of his face, yet when he stands up, his mouth is dislocated to the right, instead of the left. How is that possible?

Add time

Revealing mistake: When RoboCop is covered in flames at the start he walks through a window. Watch carefully, it actually shatters before he walks into it.

Padzter

Plot hole: Robocop shoots the gun out of the rehab's hand in the motel whilst looking for McDaggett. Seeing as he's not far from McDaggett's room, surely McDaggett would have heard the gunshots and would have gone to investigate, rather then just sit on the bed and chat.

xx:xx:xx

Padzter

Continuity mistake: When RoboCop gets hit by the grenade launcher outside the church he flies backwards and suffers heavy damage. Yet, later in the film, he sets fire to a huge pile of explosives right beside him, and they have no effect on him whatsoever, even though they do manage to send a rehab several feet in the air and he is nowhere near the explosives. Surely RoboCop should have been damaged slightly or have even moved when the explosives went off.

Add time

Padzter

Continuity mistake: Right before Lewis gets shot to death, there is already a gun wound on her arm.

Add time

Factual error: When Robocop first flies into the the battle at the end of the movie, the whine from his jetpack causes the glass in some windows to blow outwards. Considering the sound waves are hitting the glass from the outside of the windows, they should be blown inwards not outwards.

Add time

GalahadFairlight

Continuity mistake: When Otomo cuts off RoboCop's hand, RoboCop easily places his attachment in place of it and continues fighting. But his arm needed to be screwed off, and Otomo made a clean cut, so surely there would be bits of metal, plastic and wires that would have needed moving before RoboCop could put his attachment on?

Add time

Padzter

Continuity mistake: Why are there bullet holes all over McDaggett's van when RoboCop is shooting at him? RoboCop has an advanced tracking system, so he never misses. All of his shots should have hit McDaggett, and only 1 or 2 appear to hit him on his bullet proof helmet.

Add time

Revealing mistake: When RoboCop storms out of the underground base to the police station, we cut to a scene in the police department. If you watch really closely, nobody actually moves in this scene for about three quarters of a second after the scene starts. People to look out for include the police officer on the far right standing beside a woman in a orange top, (only really noticible in the widescreen version), and the people behind their desks in the background. They are all still or posing, which is amusing to see before they all suddenly come to life.

xx:xx:xx

Padzter

Continuity mistake: Anyone else ever notice that in all three of the films, the name of the station that RoboCop works out of is always different? I'm sure these aren't in order, but, it's been called Metro West, Metro South, and Metro North. Sure, they may circulate him through the city, but, all the same cops always seem to follow him. Detroit needs to find somewhere to put excess cash if they have that much to blow on relocation for an entire precinct.

Add time

Visible crew/equipment: Watch the scene where Robocop is being assessed for fire damage in the lab. You can see a monitor on his far right side fluttering, however no other monitors flutter as the camera passes in the room.

Add time

Continuity mistake: RoboCop storms out of the underground base taking with him his hand attachment, but when he arrives at the police station he has the hand attachment on. A few scenes later he arrives at McDaggetts hotel, and now does not have the hand attachment on, and is back to using his normal gun. Then, when he returns to the underground base, he still is using his normal hand and drops the hand attachment on the ground. So in between all these scenes, where was he keeping his hand and the attachment? He was on foot all the time, and he obviously wasn't carrying them both...

Add time

Plot hole: It seems strange that RoboCop carries Marie out of the building in his arms, and lets Niko, a little girl, hang onto the back of him. When he is flying, it would have took an awful amount of strength to hang onto him, when he is travelling so fast and high in the air.

xx:xx:xx

Padzter

Plot hole: Marie and Nikko show up with a huge police van, and lots of computer equipment. Are we to believe that they stole these items from a busy police station and no-one noticed? How did they get all those heavy computers and machines loaded into the van by themselves? Did the police not notice one of their SWAT vans missing either?

Add time

Padzter

Other mistake: The first fight of Robocop against Otomo ends when he blows his head off. Nothing dangerous happens. At the end of the film two Otomos lose their heads, and they self destruct.

Add time

Continuity mistake: Towards the end, while the Rehabs recruit gang members and the punks are struggling with the cops and deputized citizens, the sun changes in several shots.

Add time

Continuity mistake: Many of the splatterpunks Robocop kills in the beginning of the film show up later in the street battle.

Plot hole: When Bertha and the gang enter the Police Ordnance depot, they find an ED-209 waiting for them. It threatens to shoot them, but instead of running, they just stand there. They didn't know the girl was some kind of computer nerd that could reprogram ED-209, but for nearly 20 seconds, they just stand there.

Add time

GalahadFairlight

Other mistake: After officer Lewis dies, the camera close-up shows her breathing. There is also eye movement.

Add time

Other mistake: The explosion at the gates to the Police Ordnance depot is utterly ridiculous. They blow up steel gates with dynamite, but the resulting explosion is a fuel type flame. It's metal they are blowing up, not a combustible material.

Add time

GalahadFairlight

Continuity mistake: Watch the subtitles in the police chase against the battered yellow van. In one scene where the two gentlemen are narrowly escaping the hit, the young officer says "ease it up" but the subtitles say "jesus".

Add time

Joseph Z

Continuity mistake: In RoboCop 2, RoboCop gets his hand shot off and he carries on fine. In this film, he gets his hand cut off and suffers a major power drain. What a weakling he has become...

Add time

Padzter

Plot hole: Just because Niko is a fan of RoboCop doesn't mean she can hack an ED-209. Where would she get the model diagrams of an ED-209 to be able to find where he can be controlled from? Even during this scene, ED lifts the leg that Niko is working on and there's no sight of her.

Add time

Padzter

Continuity mistake: RoboCop bends down to pick up the map at his feet, and he does so by scooping his hand underneath it and lifting it with his thumb and index finger, as it is lying flat on the ground. Yet when the camera angle changes to show RoboCop correcting his posture, the map is now rolled up and he is holding it in his hand, which is now in a fist position.
