Trivia: In an interview, the director stated that hoverboards were real, but they weren't on the market because parents didn't like the idea of floating children. He said this as a joke, but this didn't stop mass hysteria as thousands of kids went from store to store looking for hoverboards.

Trivia: The reason that Marty McFly Jr. was arrested was because of stealing an unsubstantiated amount of money from the Hill Valley Payroll Substation.

Trivia: When Doc and Marty arrive back in 1955 to stop the handover of the Almanac, there are 4 versions of the time machine in the area at that time - the one they just arrived in from the alternate 1985, the one Marty arrived in from the original 1985 in the first film, the one Biff arrived in from 2015 in the second film, and the one Doc buried in 1885 in the third film.

Trivia: When Marty is waiting for Griff in the cafe he plays a videogame with two boys. One of the boys is Elijah Wood at age 7. (01:14:55)

Trivia: When Marty is scared by the holographic shark in the 'Jaws 19' advert, you can see 'Directed by Max Spielberg'. Steven Spielberg, who directed the first Jaws, has a son named Max.

Trivia: Towards the beginning of the movie there is a close-up of the front window of Blast From the Past. If you look closely in the upper left hand corner you can see the jacket that Marty wore in the first movie. Also if you look on the right hand side you can see a Who Framed Roger Rabbit doll, another Robert Zemeckis film also starring Christopher Lloyd. There's also a Jaws video game. (00:12:28)

Trivia: Many people think Crispin Glover reprised his role as George McFly for part II, but it's a different actor who had facial prosthetics applied to look like Glover. These prosthetics were made from actual molds of Glover's face left over from part I. Glover never authorized his likeness to be used and sued. The Screen Actors Guild now has laws against "unauthorized mimicking" of other actors as a result of the lawsuit. Crispin Glover is listed in the credit for part II only as "archive footage"

Trivia: This film was shot simultaneously with Part III. In the five years since the original film was made, Michael J. Fox had forgotten how to ride a skateboard, and needed to relearn the skill.

Trivia: When Marty is in the Cafe 80's, when he is about to hit Griff or get hit by Griff, you can see a row of TVs behind them (showing the Smurfs, etc). One of the TVs is showing Family Ties, the TV show that made Michael J. Fox famous.

Trivia: When young Jennifer is in her future house, her daughter-to-be, Marlene, comes down the stairs. Marlene says, "Mom? Mom, is that you?" - the same quote used by Marty three times throughout the trilogy when he wakes up in bed, after being knocked out.

Trivia: In the scene where the Doc of the future, hands the 3/4 wrench to the Doc of 1955, the Doc of 1955 is wearing the same two watches that the other Doc wears throughout the entire movie. This could actually happen if the Doc of 1955 kept the same two watches to wear throughout his life. It's still worth a look. (01:13:53)

Trivia: At the beginning while Doc and Marty are flying in the DeLorean, the shots of the sky are taken from the 1982 movie "Firefox."

Trivia: According to Robert Zemeckis, the kitchen scene with Michael J. Fox playing three characters simultaneously (middle-aged Marty McFly, his goofy son and bubble-headed daughter all sitting at the same table) was a nightmare to shoot. The characters required individual matte shots that were later spliced together into one scene, requiring many takes; so every visible object in the kitchen background had to remain perfectly stationary and consistent over several days of filming. Thinking ahead, Zemeckis ordered his property crew to hot-glue every single background object in the kitchen in-place, to prevent accidental movement. However, when they were well into filming the tricky scene, the studio was struck by an earthquake, which essentially destroyed the kitchen set, hot glue and all, requiring a rebuild and complete re-shoot.

Charles Austin Miller

Trivia: The final third act, in which Marty and Doc return to 1955, was originally written with them travelling to the 1960s.

Suggested correction: According to The IMDB website, Charles Fleischer who played Terry the Tow Truck Driver and the old man taking donations in 2015, provided the voice of Gertrude Tannen.

And other sites list Wilson as the voice of Gertrude. Neither men are credited for the role and I have yet to see any site list a source for the information.

IMDB is not considered a good source. Plus, on that site the information is given as trivia without a source, any crackpot could have claimed that.

Well until you can show me a confirmed source stating it was anyone else, my correction stands.

But IMDB isn't a confirmed source. Here's a site that lists Wilson as the voice actor, so by your logic the trivia entry stands. https://backtothefuture.fandom.com/wiki/Gertrude_Tannen.

Bishop73

On the audio commentary it is stated that the voice of Grandma Tannen is Fleischer. This is stated right after we hear "her" voice when the outside of her house is being shown.

Back to the Future Part II mistake picture

Continuity mistake: Notice Marty's hair in the scene when he's playing "Johnny B. Goode." It's quite larger than when he says, some seconds later, "I guess that you're not ready for it yet." That's because when he says that, it's a recycled shot from the original BTTF, whereas most shots showing he's playing the guitar are newly made for BTTF2. However, Marty's hair is considerably longer in the new shots. (01:27:19)

Biff: Go ahead, kid. Jump. A suicide will be nice and neat.
Marty: What if I don't?
Biff: [raising gun] Lead poisoning.
Marty: What about the police, Biff? They're gonna match up the bullet with that gun.
Biff: Kid, I own the police. Besides, they couldn't match up the bullet that killed your old man.
Marty: You son of a...
[Biff pulls back on the gun's hammer.]
Biff: Suppose it's poetic justice. Two McFlys with the same gun.

Question: What song does Marty play on his guitar in 2015 after he gets fired?

Answer: He is attempting to play the song "The Power Of Love" by Huey Lewis and The News. He was first seen playing it very well in the first Back To The Future movie when he was trying out for the school dance. Jennifer recognizes the song and is shocked that Marty who was so good at guitar was suddenly able to hardly play it.
