Continuity mistake: During the car chase, the police car overtakes the car it is chasing which then suddenly turns left. The police car brakes, then reverses and turns left to continue chasing the car. As the police car turns, there is a grey Mini parked on the right that wasn't in the previous shot and couldn't have appeared in a few seconds.
Continuity mistake: In the final sequence, when Sharon Tate awakes from death as a vampire, she rises and sits straight up; but in the next shot, when she buries her teeth into Polanski's neck, she leans back in the sled's seat before attacking him.
Continuity mistake: During the food fight in the pie shop, Brenda gets hit by a pie, which leaves a mess on the side of her head but when she joins in the food fight her hair is clean. At the end of the fight, the pie has reappeared on the side of her head.
Continuity mistake: During the dinner sequence, Angela Douglas is handed a letter. She is seen holding it with her right hand, but when the man seated next to her asks "What is it, my beloved?" we cut back to Angela and she is now holding the letter with her left hand.
Continuity mistake: When Scott pulls into the gas station in beginning of movie the sign reads Heyward Oil but at the end of the movie when we see his drivers license it reads Scott Hayward.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning, right after the opening credits, Old Timer picks up a gold rock. When he first picks it up, we see a close up shot of his hand holding it only an inch or so above the ground. The very next shot a second later, from the side, shows his hand holding the gold instantly a foot or so above where it was before.
Continuity mistake: Pauline is driving in the one-way street, of course the wrong way. There are several continuity errors between cuts; for instance when you see the 'boy' in the back seat laughing hysterically behind her, in the background you can see the red pick-up she nearly has a frontal with in the next shot. Continuity mistake: When Robert Blake and his accomplice take the father and son to the basement, Blake pulls the string on a hanging lamp and the room becomes fairly bright. A moment later, Blake's accomplice pushes the father into the same room, which is now significantly less well lit, even though the same hanging light is still on.
Continuity mistake: During the scenes at the airfield early in the film the sky changes between shots from blue to grey.
Continuity mistake: Aguilar is restless during the party, and he picks a tarot card from the table, which turns out to be Death arcane. In close-up the card is held by a single hand, but Frank Wolff is holding the card between both hands both before and after that shot. (00:42:20)
Continuity mistake: At the beginning, the scientists are told they are being sent to study the strange fact that seven meteors landed near each other in a V formation. The government agent even traces a V on the board with his finger. When they get to the field, panoramic shots show that there are nine meteors, and they are in a 3 by 3 grid, not a V.
Continuity mistake: The Packard convertible stolen at the beginning can be seen with and without a rear window during the chase scene.
