Continuity mistake: In the final shot, just as the credits are rolling, the British warships are sailing away with the sun setting behind them. In an earlier scene the radio commentator says that the sun is setting and a shot of the sun touching the surface of the sea is shown.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Robert Wagner and Buddy Ebsen are in a fox hole note the position of the bullets in their boxes. One lot is further away from the pole holding the shade canopy and in a closer shot it's now changed position and closer to the other bullets. Continuity mistake: When bringing the cannister up, the rope is rigged such that the lifting rope is under the supporting rope. But as soon as it appears on deck, the lifting rope has switched and is now over the supporting rope, and the tackle is nowhere to be seen. (00:49:00)
Continuity mistake: Just after Bader has been told he'll never fly again, he meets his girlfriend on a bridge. As they walk along the bridge, Bader is on the girl's left, but, in the long shot, Bader is now on the girl's right.
Continuity mistake: When the bulldozer is pushing the boat on the beach, the driver is initially dark skinned with a hat. Then next shot he is fair with no hat. Then back to dark skinned with no hat. (00:24:55)
Continuity mistake: When the Tartar princess Bortai is first shown, and throughout the first part of the scene when John Wayne and Pedro Armendáriz ride to check her out, she lies in a litter shrouded in shadows or perfectly lit, depending on the shot. (00:03:40)
