Other mistake: In the opening scene of this German movie from 1944, a panoramic view of the city of Potsdam is shown with the subtitle "Potsdam 1813". In the background, the two high radio masts of the Potsdam Military Communication Central can be seen very clearly before the sky.
Revealing mistake: The "hand" holding the gun rotates 180 degrees while the shooter's point of view does not move. A real hand can't reproduce that motion without moving extremely close to the face.
Continuity mistake: After the raid on the Japanese radar site as Errol Flynn is on the radio sitting next to a radioman talking to the supply plane his hair is sweaty and forming circles on his forehead. When the scene shifts to a close-up of Errol his hair is in straight lines. Then when the scene goes back to the two of them his hair is in circles again.
Continuity mistake: Even though the heavy rain had only just stopped, as Laura sits alone on the bench, the pavements around her are completely dry.
Revealing mistake: In the process shot (dummy auto front seat, scenery visible in back window) where father and daughter are driving off to see the circus, Eddie G. makes a left turn and the scenery follows; but he forgets to return the steering wheel to center, even though the scenery shows the car has straightened out on the new course. Funny - even titans nod. That car should still be circling somewhere.
Factual error: This is not an error in the film itself, but in some supplementary material on the DVD, in which Margot FitzSimons, the actress who plays Bridie, is identified as the sister of Maureen O'Sullivan. She is in fact the sister of Maureen O'Hara.
Continuity mistake: The dead body Wally discovers in the house has its head straight in the long shots, but canted to the right in the close ups.
Continuity mistake: The prince tells the sad story of his driving license revoked - with two people dying as collateral damage. Judge Francis J. Quincannon stands and then leans over the back of the chair; his arms switch position, crossing with the right in front, then the left in front. (00:19:50)
Continuity mistake: Doctor Leo sits at the desk and begins writing a letter to Alec Ritchfield. "My dear Alec", it starts. Fade to the finished letter, but you can easily tell that it's not the same letter, the handwriting being different - look at the little flourish below the M, not to mention the position of the text in relation with the Fog Island stamp.
