Trivia: Near the end of the film, as Dani is lifted and being carried to the dinner table, if you look closely, you can see the ghostly image of her deceased sister's face (with the exhaust hose in her mouth) in the background. It's been superimposed over the trees in the distance. It's very subtle and easy to miss, but if you know where to look, it's there.
Trivia: When Billy's mom takes the picture of Gizmo at the beginning, Gizmo becomes frightened and runs over to Mr. Peltzer. When the scene is slowed, you can see the puppeteer's hand underneath while operating the Gizmo doll. Not a mistake as needs slo-mo, but worth a look. (00:19:10)
Trivia: Numerous references to other Tim Burton films: a) The dress Katrina Anne Van Tassel wears at the end is similar to Beetlejuice's outfit. b) Crane has various sharp scissor-like tools, which is a reference to Johnny Depp's early film "Edward Scissorhands" (1989). c) The scarecrow at the beginning looks exactly like Jack from "The Nightmare Before Christmas" (1994). d) The covered bridge is a lot like the bridge in "Beetlejuice."
Trivia: In the room with the razor blade box, if you look at the top of the frame, you can see a lock with a key in it. If the actress walked a few feet further, she could've unlocked the box and gotten the syringe. Obviously this would've defeated the purpose of her dying, but interesting to point out.
