Corrected entry: Bernadette says the thing she loves most about Howard is his chest hair to which the other girls say "he has a hairy chest?" and she replies "Nope, just one" but a few episodes later they are in bed and Howard has a full chest of hair.

Correction: She's just making a joke.

Corrected entry: Several times throughout the show, Leonard makes reference to having sleep apnoea, a condition where the airways close up when you are asleep and you stop breathing for periods of time before your body's reflexes kick in and wake you up. However we also see him sleeping numerous times but he doesn't have any form of cpap (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machine. This is vital for anyone who has sleep apnoea as it pumps air into the users airways via a nasal cannula or face mask to keep the airways open and stop the user from stopping breathing. Since sleep apnoea in the most extreme cases can cause death (depending on type of sleep apnoea) a cpap machine is vital and should be seen whenever we see Leonard sleeping or in bed.

Correction: There is no mistake simply because he chooses not to use one (if he even owns one). There are individuals with sleep apnea who don't use them and just deal with waking up in the middle of the night. If Leonard says he has to use a CPAP machine every night and then is seen not using one at night, that could qualify as a mistake, but this isn't the case.

Correction: This is simply not true, I suffer from sleep apnoea, albeit a mild form, and have never used a cpap machine. I suggest learning the facts before posting on here.

Correction: Everyone seems to be missing the important point here: Sheldon. Remember how Sheldon acted when Leonard had to have the nose operation? Would Sheldon EVER let Leonard sleep without his CPAP mask knowing Leonard has sleep apnea? Would Sheldon EVER not know that Leonard has sleep apnea? Would Leonard ever allow himself to be caught without his mask on if he has sleep apnea, and he knows that Sheldon knows - keeping in mind we all know just how often Sheldon walks right in on Leonard in bed.

Corrected entry: In the opening song, one line is 'Autotrophs began to drool'. In fact, Autotrophs are self feeding organisms like plants, not animals, and so therefore cannot drool.

elephant2541

Correction: Autotrophs are in fact plants. Trees are the most common form of "plant". Trees seep. The Maple Leaf tree has been known to seep water, which, poetically, is drooling.

Corrected entry: The design of the apartment is impossible. Penny's door is directly above the main exit door. We have seen the outside of the apartment and there is no overhang to accommodate all the apartments on the left side.

kristenlouise3

Correction: Not exactly true. Using scenes from S03E20 - The Spaghetti Catalyst as a reference. Penny's door is flush against the stairwell. Scenes from inside the building downstairs, shows the main door is a distance away from the stairwell (lets say 8-9 feet). During a scene from outside, we can see that there is an external part of the building outside. The outside wall of the plant trough is at least 6 feet away from the door. This equates to about 15 feet for the width of Penny's apartment.

XIII

Correction: She has a younger brother. Her father treated her like a boy because the male had not been born yet. And apparently, he kept treating her like a boy.

Knever

Show generally

Corrected entry: Throughout the series Penny complains that she is broke, and is paid minimum wage at The Cheesecake Factory. She even takes on additional duties as a barmaid to try to earn extra money. We also learn that Sheldon and Leonard live together as their apartment is too expensive for one person - Sheldon says he would be happy to live alone if he 'could afford the rent'. Penny's apartment is almost identical to theirs - it can't be that much cheaper. So, if two University lecturers can't afford an apartment in that building, how on earth can a waitress on minimum wage do so?

Correction: Penny complains that she is broke, but that is probably due to having to pay the rent, leaving her little money after. Penny does a lot of work to scrape up rent money and obviously she is able to earn the sufficient amount to afford it. Sheldon and Leonard work at the university, but as it is stated they earn limited amounts. Also, Sheldon and Leonard have a two bedroom apartment while Penny probably has a one bedroom apartment and therefore would not pay as much.

Correction: My mailbox was changed three times in the three years I lived in my last apartment.

Show generally

Corrected entry: Leonard and Sheldon live in 4A and Penny in 4B. Yet when they go to the mailbox downstairs, Sheldon's mailbox is the upper left one while Penny's is the third or fourth one from the left. Mail boxes have to be in apartment order, not necessarily for the tenant who could remember where their box is but for the mailman to be able to use the apartment number as to placement of the mailbox. Whenever a sub carrier would do the route, he wouldn't be able to follow the random pattern.

Correction: My first apartment building didn't have them in order. The boxes were marked with either the apartment number, the tenant names, or both.

Correction: There ARE Marvel comics shown on the shelves sometimes, most notable during Season 3's "The Psychic Vortex" aka the episode with Stan Lee in it.

The Excelsior Acquisition - S3-E16

Plot hole: In Series 1, Episode 7, "The Dumpling Paradox, " Sheldon makes an oblique reference to his financial status: "Frankly, if I could afford the rent, I'd ask you [Leonard] to leave, " meaning he cannot pay the rent on his two bedroom apartment by himself - not that he doesn't want to, he can't. However, in "The Execlsior Acquisition, " we find that he does not even cash his pay cheques. He doesn't even deposit them into a bank account - he leaves them in a drawer in his desk. In Series 2 Episode 14 "The Financial Permeability", he lends Penny a large amount of money from a huge bankroll he just happens to have lying about - again, without cashing his pay cheques! He is obviously independently wealthy. Either he doesn't have enough money to afford the rent or he has enough to work without being paid while practically giving large amounts of cash away. Can't be both.

Suggested correction: Not being able to afford doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't have the money, especially a man like Sheldon. He works with a budget and he sticks to it. In his budget he has a certain amount set aside for rent, anything more than that and he can't afford it alone.

Nonsense. If he was sticking to a "rigid budget" he wouldn't have even thought of lending a hopeless credit risk like Penny a single cent. Instead he throws a huge bankroll at her without even discussing a repayment plan.

Rubbish, I stick to a strict budget but still have the money to lend to close friends. Like Penny is to him.

He might have different budgets for different things. People could get a higher margin because they could be of more use to the scientific mind of Sheldon.

The Holographic Excitation - S6-E5

Trivia: In this episode, Sheldon and Amy are trying to decide on couples' themed Halloween costumes. Sheldon is standing in front of the dry erase board. There are 2 columns written on the board. One named "Couples I Like" and the other "Couples You Like." Under the "Couples You Like" column, one of the couples is Blossom and Joey. Blossom is the name of the television character played by Mayim Bialik in the 90s and Joey was one of her brothers.

Question: How come Raj has no problem speaking to his mother, but, when around other women, such as Penny, he immediately stops talking? Also, why does he have to whisper in someone's ear if he wants to ask Penny something?

Answer: Because Raj's selective mutism seems to be caused by women that Raj sees (on some sort of conscious or subconscious level) as a potential sexual partner. An attribute that wouldn't apply to either his sister or mother.
