Mistake Continuity: 4-3 "Only the Bad Come to Sonora": The number of outlaws in the gang mysteriously increases during one chase scene. For most of the episode, there are only three of them. When they gallop off after Manolito, there are suddenly five. Next scene, there are three again.

Mistake Audio problem: 4-2 "Spokes": When Buck orders the would-be killers out of the hotel room, his lips don't move in sync with the words he speaks.

Mistake Revealing: 4-5 "A Matter of Survival": The doll standing in for Baby Joey is visible in one shot of Victoria carrying the child on horseback. The blanket slips, leaving the doll's stiff neck, plastic head and shock of sticking-straight-up nylon hair all in plain view.

Mistake Plot hole: 3-26 "No Trouble at All": Victoria asks her rescuers to take her to Rancho Velasquez. When they ask where it is, she says, "About 30 miles from here." Though she never indicates a direction, they reply, "Sorry, we're not going that way."

Mistake Continuity: 3-7 "Trail to Nevermore": When the bad guys arrive in Nevermore, they prejudicially assume that Victoria is Manolito's wife. No one disabuses them of this notion, yet John later tells one of them that he was right about Victoria being his wife.

Mistake Continuity: 3-19 "Mi Casa, Su Casa": While he's "dining" with Miguel and the banditos, Don Sebastian's position on the ground changes repeatedly as the camera angles shift. In most shots, he's reclining and leaning on one elbow. But in several others, he's sitting upright.

Mistake Revealing: 3-25 "Generation": Due to budget cuts in the 3rd season, an L.A. soundstage replica of the ranch house replaced the outdoor set, which was in Old Tuscon. The replacement was often painfully obvious. In this episode, a stock exterior shot of the real house, with its outside walls undecorated, contrasts with the mock-up, which has mounted cattle horns all over it.

Mistake Continuity: 3-12 "Alliance": When Manolito trips and drops all of Victoria's packages in the street, a box that lands beside his head in close-up disappears in the next, wider angle shot.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: 3-11 "The Legacy": While Burnett sits in the hotel room chair talking to Trice, an equipment shadow moves across the top of his head.

Mistake Continuity: 3-6, "To Stand For Something More": Much fuss is made throughout this episode about Blue being left in charge of the High Chaparral "for the first time." But it isn't the first time. He was left in charge once before, in the previous season, and no one made a big deal of it in that episode at all.

Mistake Continuity: 3-6 "To Stand for Something More": After pulling the calf out of the mud, Pedro rides off on Blue's cream-colored horse, Soapy. They go off in opposite directions (Blue on Pedro's horse), yet minutes later, Blue arrives at the ranch - riding Soapy.

Mistake Continuity: 4-16 "Sangre": The blood stain on Sangre's clothing disappears when Manolito borrows the outfit as a disguise. It reappears at the end just in time for Sangre to put the clothes back on again.

Mistake Continuity: 3-16 "Friends and Partners": The plate Buck and Mano wash is a 20th Century pie tin made of non-reflective aluminum, something unlikely to be found in 1870s Arizona. After they dry it off, it changes into polished steel that's shiny enough to reflect their faces. It also changes shape.

Mistake Factual error: Though High Chaparral had a windmill and a water tower, there were no pipes to deliver water to the house - just a well that appeared in the yard only when called for in the script. They had plenty of eggs, but no chicken coops, and though Victoria always had fresh flowers in the house, we never saw a garden. We also never saw the ranch outhouse, but no surprise there: no one on TV in the 60s ever had a bathroom.

Mistake Continuity: 3-12 "Alliance": The petticoat Mano pulls out of Johnny Ringo's hands disappears in the very next shot when they greet each other on the street.

Mistake Continuity: 3-2, "A Time to Laugh, A Time to Cry": Manolito rushes into Don Sebastian's study, passing two large, open doors. When the shot cuts, he passes the same doors again.

Mistake Continuity: 3-9 "Lady Fair": "Charlie" steps forward several feet before pointing her gun and shooting the hats off two cowboys on the boardwalk. But in the very next shot, she's suddenly standing back beside Buck, without time to get there.

Mistake Audio problem: 4-16 "The New Lion of Sonora, Pt. 1": During Don Sebastian's funeral, the single church bell is tolling. But the ringing sound effect continues after the bell itself has stopped moving.

Mistake Continuity: 4-18 "A Man to Match the Land": Red Eagle's war paint changes between takes. Sometimes it's red with blue striping. In other shots, the blue stripes disappear.

Mistake Visible crew/equipment: 4-16 "Sangre": When Sangre attacks the soldier and the man's rifle falls during the fight, the shot cuts to a close-up of the gun - and we can see several white blocking marks chalked on the floor beside it.
