Trivia

In "Carry On Screaming", Harry H. Corbett is seen in his role as Inspector Bung driving a horse and cart to the tv theme of "Steptoe". A nice touch. Wilfred Brambell also had a small role in another "Carry On",where he couldn't keep his hands off a pretty young nurse. See more...

Comments made in brackets are corrections from other visitors. As such, any aggressive/abusive corrections (and I get quite a few) written as if they're comments I've made myself will be ignored. To submit your own corrections for mistakes, just click the edit icon under an entry, then choose "correct entry". Some entries have "duplicated entry" after them - these are entries which were already listed on the main page, but were submitted again. I occasionally leave these online for a while, just in case they were moved in error, so don't worry about pointing them out to me.

Entry Harold's military service changed as the series went on. In the early black and white series, he fought in World War II, and in the later colour series, he did national service in the 1950s. [My father did both. Why couldn't Harold?]

Christmas Special 1974 (a.k.a. A Perfect Christmas) (series 8)

Entry In this episode it is revealed that Albert never knew who his father was, as it reads "unknown" for father's name on his birth certificate. But in previous episodes such as "A Winter's Tale", Albert mentions he has a sister in Stoke-on-Trent, and in "Oh What a Beautiful Mourning", Albert came from a family of 14 children. [None of that means that he has to know who his father is. If his mother was promiscuous, it's entirely plausible that he could live with her and his siblings but not know the identity of his father.]
