One Foot in the Grave (1990) - 17 mistakes in entire show

Revealing: A minute or so after the health and fitness instructer dies, we see her lying flat out on her back. If you look carefully, you can see her chest moving up and down and breathing despite being dead.

Visible crew/equipment: On the train at the start, after everyone has left except Victor and Margret, you can see a boom operator reflected in the door's glass panel. You can see him and it's even more noticeable when he lowers the boom for when Victor sits down.

Revealing: At the start, the background of the country going by when on the train is very obviously a fake. It sticks out like a sore thumb.

Revealing: When Victor gets the glass stuck to his head, it's obvious there is a clear piece of plastic to stop the beer spilling out. This is obvious as it never goes past a certain point, but stops instantly.

Continuity: The amount of beer in the glass that is glued to Victor's head keeps changing.

Revealing: At the very start of the episode, there is some rice with a mouse in. You can tell by the way it moves that it's a machine making it move.

Revealing: When Alfred is at the station, you can see that the flames are superimposed.

Deliberate "mistake": In the shot where we see the cars in front of Victor's (shortly after Victor gets out of the car and gets back in when the traffic starts moving) you can see that after the white car on the right that there are no more cars even though the episode takes place in a traffic queue! If you listen to the commentary on the DVD, writer David Renwick points out the mistake and informs us that they had a limited number of cars for the shot.

Visible crew/equipment: When Victor and Margret are arguing at the door, a stage light is just visible to the side of the door.

Visible crew/equipment: When Victor and Margret are arguing at the door you can see the background is a sheet, and it moves at one point.

Revealing: When Victor opens the front door to Mr Foskett and the boys, you can see that the background is actually a painting.

Continuity: If you look at the corner cabinet in the Meldrew's kitchen near to the door that leads into the living room, you will notice that in some shots there is an ornamental chicken and in other shots it changes to a different blue coloured ornament.

Continuity: Just after the scene with Mr Foskett on the roof of the house, Margaret is seen standing in the garden with her hand over her mouth, in the shot immedietly after she is standing with her hands in front of her.

Continuity: At the beginning of the episode Margaret enters the living room and discovers that their new wallpaper has come down. In the shot from the kitchen, the wallpaper hanging down is not visible, but in the next shot there is a piece hanging down which should have been visible in the previous shot.

Continuity: When Victor puts the paper down you can see there is no crease in it. Next shot there is a crease in the paper.

Revealing: When Margaret hits the lady, it is very clear she dosen't actually touch her.

Revealing: The scene with a bee in the Jag is superimposed.
