Revealing: Across the whole show you see the interior of KITT as being futuristic and curved towards the driver. Also you notice the steering wheel isn't a circular wheel, but a futuristic 'half wheel' with handles. But when you see shoots from a distance you see stunt men driving the car, you can see a normal steering wheel and a normal dash.

Knight Rider (1982) - 48 mistakes in entire show
These mistakes are currently being ordered by rating.
Across whole show
Knight Rider [Pilot; a.k.a. Knight of the Phoenix] (1) (season 1, episode 1)
Revealing: When KITT takes part in the race and goes up on two wheels, you can see that the stunt driver is behind the wheel and that a dummy is strapped into the passenger's seat.
All of series 1 (season 1)
Continuity: Even after KITT's voice modulator changes to the three bars in the episode "Hearts of Stone," any shot of KITT starting himself up still shows the old voice modulator (a simple red square).
Knight Rider [Pilot; a.k.a. Knight of the Phoenix] (1) (season 1, episode 1)
Continuity: If you look closely at KITT throughout the pilot, the position of his scanner lens changes from being the normal scanner that we're all used to, and the scanner being at the very tip of the front bumper. (The latter case is because the car was used for a promo shots to sell to NBC, and after the show was picked up, they changed KITT's look, but still used the earlier shots).
Revealing: There is a scene where KITT drives over to Michael, and you can see the drivers seat is really a guy dressed up in a light brown suit to look like a car seat. You can see for a visor that its a glass panel made to look like a hollow head rest, but you plainly see the guy take away his hand off the steering wheel.
No Big Thing (season 1, episode 8)
Continuity: At the end when Michael is driving Devon in K.I.T.T, there is a truck behind Devon which isn't behind Michael, depending on who is talking in the shot.
Knight Rider [Pilot; a.k.a. Knight of the Phoenix] (2) (season 1, episode 2)
Revealing: During the Comtron Demolition Derby after Buddy sprays oil, Michael asks him not to push another button. Buddy decides to push the next button for Smoke Screen. The license plate is mirrored THGINK (instead of KNIGHT) before the smoke blows.
Deliberate "mistake": During Comtron's Demolition Derby, Michael engages auto control. Michael controls the wheel during the ski mode stunt. When the car drops back on four wheels, Michael is driving with a regular steering wheel instead of KITT's steering wheel.
Slammin' Sammy's Stunt Show Spectacular (season 1, episode 5)
Deliberate "mistake": Watch the end of the test run for Michael and KITT. Michael was using the KITT steering wheel, but then he gets out of the car and it switches to a performance steering wheel instead.
Across whole show
Continuity: At the beginning of many shows it will show the car's instruments, panning from one to the other. The speedometer will show various speeds in that shot, but a close up of the gauge will then show 55 MPH.
Knight Rider [Pilot; a.k.a. Knight of the Phoenix] (2) (season 1, episode 2)
Revealing: After KITT has been taken by the crooks, KITT auto cruises. Watch the spin circle showoff in slow motion. KITT is spraying gasoline out of his side tank all over the road as he's spinning circles.
A Knight in Shining Armor (season 2, episode 13)
Revealing: When Michael fights the bad guy at the end of the episode, it's easy to tell that they're both stunt doubles.
Knight Rider [Pilot; a.k.a. Knight of the Phoenix] (1) (season 1, episode 1)
Revealing: During the demolition derby, the shot of KITT releasing his smoke screen is flipped; you can see that the license plate is backwards.
Big Iron (season 2, episode 24)
Revealing: The shot of KITT releasing his oil slick at the end of the episode is backwards: "KNIGHT" appears as though it's in a mirror.
Forget Me Not (season 1, episode 13)
Visible crew/equipment: When the blue pickup drives into the equestrian centre with the brown horsefloat on the back, you can see the shadows of the camera crew on the ground.
A Nice, Indecent Little Town (season 1, episode 17)
Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Michael chases the counter fitter and KITT supposedly jumps over some cars with his turbo boost, you can see a jumping ramp which wasn't there before, painted in the colour of the street behind it.
Trust Doesn't Rust (season 1, episode 9)
Continuity: Watch the scene where KARR engages in bank robberies. In one charge scene, KARR has the sticker job from Slammin' Sammy's episode, which it doesn't have at any other point.
Across whole show
Factual error: Realistically, there is no way someone can be thrown straight up from the driver's seat of a Pontiac Trans-Am, even with T-tops. Whoever was being shot straight up would probably break their legs on the crossbar that's adjacent to the windshield.
Forget Me Not (season 1, episode 13)
Revealing: When KITT is in the valet carpark, he pushes the cars in front of him forwards. It is very obvious they have attached rubber protectors to the bumpers to prevent damage. Also, when KITT is driving by himself 10 seconds later, you can see the stunt man's hands driving the car.
Continuity: When KITT drives off the edge of the cliff, the car changes from a pontiac to another standard car a number of times. When KITT lands, his flight trajectory was from approximately 10 feet, not 100 feet. He should have landed like a belly flop onto the sand, not a shallow dive.
