Lost (2004) - 292 mistakes in entire show

Continuity: In numerous shots of individual characters, while on the island, the sweat stains on their clothing significantly and repeatedly change, or disappear and reappear between shots.

Continuity: On the airplane, the same passengers are seen in numerous shots with different main characters, and purportedly Kate and Marshal Mars (row 25) are in the same cabin on the opposite side of Jack, Rose and Locke (rows 23 & 24), yet are not seen in shots where they should be seen - though in shots of Jack and Rose, during the turbulance, the same woman and man (behind Locke) fly up as in the Kate and marshal shot. Some examples: When Kate and the marshal are shown during the turbulance, note the red-haired man with the black shirt beside the marshal and other men behind, and in one shot of Kate and the marshal, a woman and man both fly up to the ceiling of the cabin. In some shots of the turbulance, when the red-haired man is seen, the marshal and Kate are gone, replaced by other passengers. Just before the tail section breaks off, men behind the red-haired guy have either changed seats or disappeared, and so forth. Row numbers seen on the luggage compartments overhead are inconsistent with passenger seating. Such as when the tail section breaks off, the man is pulled out from row 26, yet the number above reads 13, or when Claire boards the numbers overhead are 20, 21, 22, yet Jack is in row 23, which is the second row behind the wall. The interiors of the Oceanic airplane also significantly differ in various shots. One example - the seats on the airplane have blue square velcro coverings on the passengers' seat headrests, and long, wide magazine racks on the divider wall behind Locke, but when they carry Locke onto the airplane, they don't exist.

Continuity: Jin is handcuffed in season 1, "House of the Rising Sun" and the cuff remains on his left wrist until season 2, "What Kate Did" when Locke removes it. The handcuffs have a distinctive shape - a single strand connected via pivot to a double strand with the lock area. When Jin is initially cuffed to the plane wreckage, the single strand faces out at his wrist, but in following shots, in this and all the subsequent episodes, the handcuff actually switches sides repeatedly, going round his wrist the opposite way.

Continuity: In the earlier shows, the positions of the cuts on Kate's and Jack's faces change, as well as their characteristics.

Continuity: The white tape round Charlie's fingers, that first read "fate" and later "late", drastically change their appearance - such as the size and shape of the letters, and the color and condition of the tape, in numerous consecutive shots.

Continuity: When Kate finds the pilot's wingpin in the mud, the pilot's reflection is seen in the water as he lies on the branches above Kate. When Jack approaches they all look up and in the overhead shot the pilot's position differs and he lies on different parts of the branches, note their shape.

Other: The Monster appearing in the pilot and causing the turbine to explode is a mistake (not trivia). This is actually an artefact of poor CGI effects that was left in the show in error. Continuity: When Jack drops to his knees, after removing the undershirt, one white shirt lies stretched out horizontally on the ground directly in front of him, with both knees centered in front of it; the other shirt is off to his right (viewer's left), with the undershirt he drops. Three shots later, still on his knees, all three shirts lie rumpled to his right; eleven shots later, the single white shirt once again lies horizontally directly in front of him, in the very same position as the earlier shot.

Continuity: When Charlie, Kate and Jack are in the nose wreckage, to find the transceiver, there is a shot in first class, facing the cockpit, showing the glass wall with the decorative circular design. When Charlie is aboard the flight, running from the stewards, he stands beside that glass wall, and the circular pattern is reversed. Neither shot is flipped.

Continuity: In the very beginning of the pilot episode, Jack runs out of the jungle. He looks around and hears distant screams. While he is looking around, you can see through the bushes that there is nothing but beach on the other side. But when he turns around, the entire beach just on the other side of that bush is filled with wreckage. The wreckage would have been visible from the other side of the bush had it been there.

Continuity: After Jack gets Hurley and Claire away from the wing falling down, they are all lying on the ground. As Jack says "Stay with her" to Hurley, Hurley has a big lump of hair on his forehead that disappears and reappears between the shots.

Continuity: When Kate, Jack and Charlie find the cockpit with the pilot, the blood on the pilot's face differs between shots, such as in the shot from behind, when he turns to show the location of the transceiver.

Continuity: When Charlie leaves his seat on the airplane, as he is followed by the stewards, he walks through economy (blue stripe seats), then walks through business class (grey stripe seats and roomier) - where Boone and Shannon sit. But, in Charlie's next close-up, when the plane shakes, he leans on the blue seat in front of him, which he already passed and is farther back in the plane's cabin.

Continuity: When Jack, Charlie and Kate are walking through the woods and Jack is holding the transceiver, Charlie ask if he hears anything. Jack then answers "You keep asking if there's anything", while holding the transceiver with his right hand and his left hand down. When it cuts he holds on to the transceiver with both hands.

Continuity: When Hurley gets to Sayid who is about to fix the transmitter, Sayid puts down the battery on the case. It cuts and the battery is back in his hand and in the next shot the battery is on the case.

Continuity: On the airplane, when Kate lifts the glass of juice with her handcuffed hands, in this close-up the cuff round her right wrist has the single bar facing out. However, when the turbulence hits, in another close-up of her hands, the same cuff is on the opposite way, it now has the double bar facing out.

Continuity: When Jin offers food to Claire while she is writing in her diary, we see her writing while holding the diary in her hand. When it cuts she holds the book in both hands, place it in her left hand and begin writing again.

Continuity: When Sawyer and Sayid are fighting and Jack tries to pull Sawyer away, Sayid changes from holding onto Sawyer's shirt to holding onto his pants between the shots.

Continuity: When Ray's pickup truck swerves off the road, it flips and the tailgate completely breaks off, yet in the following shots the bright red tailgate remains intact.

Continuity: When the marshal and Ray drive their vehicles down the long road, the endless line of telephone poles are on their left as they drive, with barren land on their right. However, when they pass the third vehicle the poles are on their right and then repeatedly change sides in the following shots. (This has nothing to do with camera angles.)

Revealing: As Ray drives the pickup truck, an oncoming vehicle beeps and the marshal heads behind Ray's pickup. In the shot through the cab's rear window facing the bed, as the marshal pulls behind, the bed's side wall interior is seen (note the metal loop tie down on top) and the entire tailgate is gone; yet the tailgate is intact later, when the pickup flips over. The tailgate was removed for the shot to allow visibility of the marshal's vehicle.

Revealing: With Marshal Mars in pursuit, as Ray drives his pickup, he holds the steering wheel with his left hand, and his stiff prosthetic right arm is down at his side. When Kate grabs for the steering wheel, in the side exterior shot the stunt driver is quite noticeable, as he grips and turns the steering wheel with his good right hand/arm.

Continuity: When Kate pulls Ray from the burning pickup, in the first shot as she drags him across the grass his overall suspenders are not on - they are not clasped shut. However, as Kate drags him, a few shots later the suspenders are properly clasped on.

Continuity: When Kate leans over the unconscious marshal he wakes and chokes her, and when Jack subdues him the marshal's large head bandage falls off. When Jack squeezes water into the marshal's mouth, the bandages are wrapped perfectly round his head, yet when Kate stands up the bandages are off again.

Continuity: When Jack removes the paper with Kate's mugshot from the marshal's jacket pocket, in the close-up of the paper there is no writing at the top center of the paper, only at the sides. However, in the previous shot the center writing is visible from behind, and is also perfectly seen when Hurley finds the paper.

Deliberate "mistake": When Kate pulls Ray from the burning pickup, he has bloody bruises at the center and right side of his forehead. As she drags him across the grass, in the shot when she grunts, the bruises on his forehead are at the center and left side of his forehead. This shot is flipped.

Deliberate "mistake": When Kate is with Ray in his pickup, he wears his wedding band on his left hand, and his right arm is prosthetic. After the wreck, when Kate pulls him from the cab and onto the grass, he wears his ring on his right hand, the door and Kate's bracelet are also on the wrong side - obviously a flipped shot.

Continuity: When Ray and Kate are in the pickup, in the shot facing the oncoming vehicle as it beeps, Ray is driving in his right lane. In the next shot, whilst the vehicle still beeps, as the marshal pulls behind Ray, the marshal and Ray are both driving in their left lane. However, in the next shot, facing the beeping vehicle, Ray is driving in his right lane and then starts to pull over to his left.

Continuity: When Michael searches for Vincent after it suddenly stops raining, his shirt's large wet stain (from the rain) changes repeatedly - such as being dry where it was just wet, up to the moment when he encounters Sun.

Audio problem: When the farmer says, "You've been here for almost three months now, and every time I ask you," to Kate, it cuts, showing the farmer from behind saying "you get that look on your eyes," but his mouth isn't moving at all during the last sentence.

Continuity: When Marshal Mars pulls behind Ray's pickup, as the third vehicle beeps, the camera pans to the back of the cab. The cab window, behind Kate and Ray, is slid open to allow a clear view of the marshal pulling behind. In previous and following shots, the windows behind them are closed.

Continuity: After Locke whispers to Michael, "I thought you should be the one to bring his dog back to him," when Locke points in the wide shot, Walt, who is sleeping on his stomach, has his head facing away from Michael. But when Michael says, "Hey thanks," Walt's head faces the opposite way towards Michael, and in the next shot he faces away again.

Continuity: When Sun brings the luggage to Jin her face is mildly dirty. After Jin says, "Go wash up," in the next shot facing Jin, Sun's entire face is filthy, yet when she turns it's just a bit dirty again.

Audio problem: When Charlie helps Claire with her bag, Claire remarks, "So you guys hiked all the way up that mountain for nothing," and in the next shot she keeps talking, but nothing is heard.

Deliberate "mistake": When Sayid, Kate, Sawyer and the others make camp for the night, on their way back from hearing the French woman's transmission, they sit around the fire talking. Sawyer has a cut over his right eye, but in every other close-up of Sawyer the cut is over his left eye. The shots are flipped.

Revealing: When Kate is in Ray's pickup, as they drive down the road, she looks into her side view mirror twice, over a minute apart. Firstly, the road that passes in the view reflected in the mirror is perfectly identical in both instances that Kate looks at it, which is impossible - the same shot is used twice. Secondly, the road that passes Ray's truck is completely different to the road that passes in the view reflected in the side mirror, they are obviously edited together.

Continuity: When Kate is in the closet, she removes a jar from the shelf. There is at least one jar left, on the left side of the jar she picked up. When it cuts the jar on the left is suddenly gone.

Revealing: After Kate rescues Ray, she pulls out his prosthetic right arm. In the following shots, his upper body is deliberately shown and there is a blatantly apparent outline and very long wide bulge of the actor's right arm, under his shirt and overalls.

Continuity: As Kate rescues Ray from the burning pickup, his hat falls onto the grass beside the cab door, yet in the next shot the hat is at least eight feet away, behind them.

Continuity: While the marshal groans in the distance, Kate assembles the firewood on the beach, and when Sawyer tosses the lighter to Kate, then joins her, the firewood differs between shots.

Continuity: Inside the closet, when Kate is about to turn the lights off, she is reaching out with her left arm to turn it off. When it cuts it's her right arm turning it off.

Continuity: When Charlie takes the suitcase from Claire, he puts it on the wheel chair. At first the suitcase lies straight on the wheel chair. When it cuts it's askew.

Continuity: Some passenger seats from the wreckage, that are seen in various shots on the island here and in other episodes, are not the same seats shown in the interior shots of the plane. There are three distinct colors/styles of passenger seating in the interior shots, blue stripe in economy, grey stripe in business class, and also greyish leather in first class, which didn't end up on the beach anyway.

Continuity: When Jack joins Rose on the beach, he places a blue blanket round her shoulders. In the following shots while they sit together, until Rose and Jack stand up, the blanket moves around quite a bit, jumping on and off Rose's shoulders depending on camera angle.

Continuity: When Hurley is showing Charlie how to fish with a spear while standing in the water, the wet area on Hurley's tee shirt drastically changes between shots, such as going from being soaked up to his collar, but in the next shot dry till his waist.

Continuity: After Jack's been talking to Rose, he goes to Kate, who has an orange t-shirt and a backback with a wide strap on her shoulder. The amount of fabric between the arm and the strap keeps changing between shots.

Continuity: When Charlie and Hurley are talking to Jack about the water, Jack then shouts something like, "I'm not making any decision," and in the background two people walk by - they move from right to left. After a cut to Charlie and Hurley when Hurley asks "Why?" it cuts back to Jack, and the same two people walk from right to left again.

Visible crew/equipment: In the episode where the doctor tries to save the woman who is drowning, when he enters the water for the second time just as he says "there's someone else out there", you can easily see the keel water of the boat or Jet Ski that is filming him.

Visible crew/equipment: When Jack is precariously hanging over the cliff, the thick safety wire attached to the front of Jack's waistband is quite visible in a few shots, as he moves about. One such instance is two shots after Locke says, " Take my hand."

Continuity: When Sawyer asks of Boone, "So how does it feel?" Boone sits with his knees up and his arms crossed over his knees, but in Boone's close-up he sits normally with legs down, arms uncrossed. Then, as Sawyer walks away Boone sits just as in the first shot.

Continuity: When Claire gets to Kate and sits down with her talking to her, Kate gives her a bottle of water. Then Claire asks "What are you doing?" and then puts the bottle to her mouth. When it cuts from behind her she has suddenly lowered the bottle.

Continuity: When Jack sees the casket, things lying on it change between shots. When he flips it open the ripped interior lining differs in the following shots, depending on camera angle. Then, as Jack destroys the coffin, the broken wood differs greatly between shots. Such as when the shot faces the coffin the entire top is destroyed, but when facing Jack the side frame remains intact.

Continuity: When Jack, Hurley and Charlie discuss water situation, the suitcase filled with water bottles repeatedly changes. One example: when Charlie carries the stuffed suitcase, then sets it down, it is open just a couple of inches, but when Jack walks away the suitcase is bursting with bottles, and is open at least 18-20 inches.

Audio problem: While Claire is lying down, just after she says, "Our only hunter's gonna get eaten so he can get the pregnant girl some more water," we hear Charlie say, "I wouldn't worry about that," but his lips just begin to open mid-sentence, and he certainly doesn't say that.

Continuity: When Jack hangs off the cliff, he grips a vine covered in a multitude of leaves in the wideshots, but in the three tight close-ups his hand is dramatically shown slipping down a vine, without any leaves on or around it. He also remains at the same height position the entire time.

Continuity: After Jin is pulled off Michael, when Sawyer removes the marshal's handcuffs from his pocket there is a very short link chain dangling - about a couple of inches. However, when Jin is cuffed to the wreckage the link chain is considerably longer - about a foot.

Visible crew/equipment: While Jin is cuffed to the wreckage, Sun points to her wrist and explains in Korean, but Sayid shouts, "The cuffs stay on!" At the start of the next shot, a crewmember's arm is seen holding the reflector screen to Sawyer's left, as he makes a sarcastic comment.

Continuity: The gold watch disappears from Michael's wrist in the wide shots, when Jin is attacking and trying to kill him, but reappears in the close-ups during the attack.

Continuity: At the party when Jin and Sun are standing together, Sun place her arms on Jin's shoulders. Her arm's position on the shoulders differ between the shots.

Revealing: When Jack and Kate run from the bees, they enter the cave, and when they remove their tee shirts Jack's back and sides are perfectly visible. There is not even the slightest hint of any kind of scar, on the left side of Jack's back, from the nasty cut that Kate recently sewed up with the black thread.

Deliberate "mistake": Sun's left earlobe has a cleft, but while Jin is still cuffed to the wreckage, Sun watches Michael head off through the trees (to cut firewood) and in this close-up it is Sun's right earlobe with the cleft. The shot is flipped.

Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Kate asks Jack if she is checking her out after he walks past her, in the top left corner you can see a black boom microphone appear in the shot for a second. (Not visible on DVD.)

Continuity: When Jin attacks Michael, the wreckage on the beach beside the wheels is seen behind Sun, as she shouts at Jin. When Jin is handcuffed the wreckage on the beach differs, there is noticeably much more in that area.

Deliberate "mistake": After Jack brings some survivors back to the cave, there is a shot of Hurley turning on his CD player to listen to Willie Nelson. In the next shot of Jack, as he fills bottles with water, his large tattoo is on his right upper arm, but normally it is on his left. The shot is flipped.

Continuity: As Kate and Jack head back to the beach, while Jack explains why they should move to the caves, when Kate lifts the bag and slings it round her shoulder, opposite sides of the bag face out between the first and second shots. Then, in the third shot it hangs from her shoulder very differently.

Continuity: The way Sun is holding the puppy change between the shots.

Continuity: When Jin comes home, he heads straight for the bathroom and washes blood off his hands. Blood stains on his white shirt change between shots, including one rather large blood stain on his right sleeve which disappears.

Continuity: When Sun is asking Michael's help to free Jin, from behind, Michael's right arm is raised, but from the front, his left arm is raised, and the axe also switches hands.

Continuity: When Jack is packing water bottles in to the sack and Locke says "I think one of us should stay and help Charlie salvage the wreckage", you see Jack putting a bottle in to the sack. His hands are now empty, but when it cuts he suddenly has a new bottle in his hand which he puts in to the sack.

Visible crew/equipment: When Charlie and his brother are arguing backstage, as his brother rushes out shouting "P*ss off," you can see a crew member move in the mirror on the left and the right side. If you watch closely you can see the producers tried blurring the mirrors, but still they weren't able to remove the crew member.

Continuity: When Charlie speaks to Liam outside the church, Charlie's long scarf has a mind of its own, while round his neck, as it goes from behind his shoulder to in front, and so on.

Visible crew/equipment: When Charlie goes to his brother's house and opens the door and knocks, you can see the black boom pole reflected in the window.

Continuity: When Charlie visits Liam at his home, the pitcher, glasses, etc, on the table change positions between shots.

Deliberate "mistake": In the episode where Shannon is having asthma attacks, Michael get some eucalyptus plants for Sun, but the plants he gives her aren't eucalyptus.

Revealing: After Sayid stabs Sawyer, in the wideshot when Jack pushes Sayid away, as Sawyer lies with his right arm outstretched the knife is nowhere to be seen. In the next close-up, the large, long-handled knife is protruding from Sawyer's upper arm at about a 90º angle. Given the angle and position of the knife, it should have been seen in the previous shot.

Continuity: While Sawyer is tied to a tree in the "jungle of mystery," Sayid throws water on Sawyer's face to wake him. The amount and pattern of water stain on Sawyer's tee shirt differs significantly in the following shots.

Continuity: When Claire is writing in her diary, in the close-up the large decorative bookmark hangs down from the book, yet in the next shot, as Charlie walks over, the bookmark is on the other side and under her fingers.

Continuity: When Sayid stabs Sawyer, in the close-up there are considerable blood stains on Sayid's white shirt, yet when Jack pushes Sayid off Sawyer all the blood has vanished. This continues to happen in all the following shots, when Jack tells Sayid to get his bag, and the amount and pattern of blood also significantly changes.

Continuity: Just after Sayid has woken Sawyer up by throwing water in his face, there is a shot of Sayid from behind the tree Sawyer is tied to, and you can see a bit of Sawyer's hair. However, it is hardly wet, if at all, and when the camera cuts back to Sawyer his hair is drenched again.

Continuity: When Sawyer is in bed with his girl, he puts his finger on her chin and says "What do you want right now?". When it cuts his hand is gone.

Continuity: At the start of the episode, Sawyer tells Jess he has $140,000. Later, when Sawyer is talking to his boss in the bar while playing pool, his boss says that he had $160,000.

Continuity: After Sawyer admits to Kate that he doesn't have the inhalers, Sayid and he get into a tussle. In the first shot, the back of Sayid's white shirt is fairly clean as he is standing, but in the next wider shot the back is completely filthy - before he and Sawyer ever even hit the ground.

Visible crew/equipment: As Jack, Michael, and Charlie walk up to Hurley, the camera goes to the left of Hurley and you can see a road to the right of him and directly behind him a fence. If you look closely you can see a car parked under one of the trees. This can be seen in both the T.V. and DVD versions.

Continuity: After telling Danielle what is written on the back of Nadia's photo, Sayid steps closer to Danielle. When Sayid says, "The only way off this place..." in the shot facing him Danielle holds the gun up high and points it straight at Sayid's chest. Yet, in both the previous and following shots facing Danielle, the gun is pointing down towards Sayid's legs. She then lowers the gun and sits down.

Continuity: When Sayid holds the music box open, for Danielle to see, in the shots facing Sayid he holds it facing out towards Danielle, but in the shots facing Danielle, the box faces to the side.

Visible crew/equipment: When Jack, Michael, Hurley and Charlie play their first game of golf together, another survivor named Sullivan finds them. In Sullivan's close-ups, the clear reflection of the reflector screen is visible in his eyeglass lenses.

Visible crew/equipment: As Sayid swings upside down in the trap, the black stunt suit is visible at his back where his shirt is pulled up, and the outline of the stunt device is visible under the front of his shirt.

Continuity: In the first minute of the episode when Sayid finds the wire on the beach, his left pant leg is not torn. When he follows the wire into the jungle, just before he trips Danielle's trap, the left leg of his pants is already torn, in exactly the place where the branch will stab him.

Continuity: When Sayid is pulled upside down in the trap, he swings toward the tree and is stabbed by the branch. It is an entirely different branch in each of the following shots: first - when he is stabbed, second - when it sticks out of his thigh, third - when he pulls it out.

Continuity: When Sayid steps into the trap, in the close-up of his feet he removes his right foot, and the left remains on the ground, inside the closing rope. However, in the next shot as he's lifted in the air, it's his right leg that is caught up in the trap.

Continuity: When Claire visits the psychic for the second time, she is seen giving him AUS $100 (1 $50 note (yellow note) two $20 notes (red notes), and one $10 note (blue note)) but after the session she asks for her $200 back ($100 notes are green, and there is no sign of any green notes).

Continuity: When Thomas breaks up with Claire, and they begin to argue, there are groceries spread out on the table right behind Claire. When Thomas leaves Claire stands beside the table, and now there are entirely different groceries - and more of them, spread out on the table.

Continuity: During Claire's second visit to the psychic, her hair changes position between shots. In one shot, it's hanging loose and in the next, it's tucked behind her right ear.

Continuity: When Jack and his father begin to have words in the OR, as his father removes his gloves, in the shots facing Jack he stands with both hands on his hips, but in the shots facing his father, Jack's arms are crossed at his chest.

Continuity: As Jack performs CPR on Charlie, in the close-ups of Charlie, the twine lies curled under Charlie's head and his right hand rests on his chest, but in all the wideshots the long twine is spread all the way out, under/behind Charlie's head, and his right arm is stretched out to his side.

Visible crew/equipment: After Kate cuts the "noose" line, Charlie and Jack fall, and when Kate jumps down a large piece of white equipment pops up on the left of the screen, just as she lands on the ground. Then, when Jack refuses to give up and resumes CPR, in Kate's close-up as she cries, "Stop," some more equipment is visible behind her on the left of the screen.

Continuity: When Ethan places his foot on Jack's chest, Jack has some leaves on his face that change position between the shots.

Continuity: When Locke hands over the red cloth to Boone, Locke is leaning his arm against a tree. When it cuts Locke has suddenly moved two feet away from the tree.

Visible crew/equipment: In the scene where Walt is talking to Sawyer about Sayid, a boom mike can be seen at the top of the screen around the time when Sawyer says, "Why am I talking to a six-year-old?" (Not visible on DVD.)

Continuity: After Boone ties the red shirt around the tree, he places a red shirt on his shoulder. The position and width of it changes between shots.

Continuity: When Locke is about to leave to go search for Claire and Charlie, Michael stops him to talk. Locke throws the backpack over his right shoulder, but in the next close-up it's swung over his left (not a flipped shot).

Continuity: When Kate and Sawyer happen upon the lovely waterfall, Sawyer removes his shirt and he has the bandage tied round the stab wound on his upper arm. When underwater, there is a different dressing on his arm; it is snugger, with no ends - most likely an elastic type to stay put during the underwater shots.

Continuity: After Kate and Sawyer find the corpses underwater, the marshal's Halliburton case that Sawyer retrieves has two protruding wide silver clasps to the handle's sides, and a thin, narrow handle with flat pivots at its base. The case that Kate tries to steal from Sawyer, and in all the following shots, has a very different style top - NO clasps whatsoever, and it has a round, wide handle with raised round pivots. The Halliburton with clasps is also seen in "Exodus 1" with the airport security officer.

Continuity: On the beach, when Shannon questions Boone about his and Locke's whereabouts everyday, Boone wears a sleeveless tee shirt with large Asian characters on the front. Then, when Boone kneels beside Shannon the entire design actually disappears.

Continuity: When Shannon helps Sayid with the French translations, and particularly later when they sit on the beach, she wears a pink shawl which repeatedly changes position - on and off her shoulder and arms, the entire time.

Continuity: When Kate and Sawyer find the deceased crash victims underwater, as Sawyer takes the man's wallet and heads for the surface the corpse's tie floats up freely, his suit jacket is pulled way up, and his legs are spread apart. Yet, when Sawyer and Kate go back for the case, the neat tie and suit are on properly, and now the corpse's legs are suddenly crossed, albeit in a twisted sort of way. There are other changes in both the female and male corpses' positions between shots.

Continuity: After Kate and Jack open the Halliburton case, when she finally removes the toy airplane from the envelope, the design of the wings and its engines are very different to the toy seen in other episodes, such as "Exodus 1".

Continuity: At the bank, when Kate asks for the bank's key to box 815, she holds her key up in front of her face. In the following close-ups of Kate, the way she holds the key noticeably differs depending on camera angle.

Continuity: When Kate is in the bank office with her accomplice, Jason puts his right arm all the way around Kate's neck when they kiss, but in the next shot it's gone as his left hand is now on her face.

Continuity: After Kate and Jack dig up the marshal's body, Kate opens his wallet. In this close-up, as the pocket for bills is at the top, the vertical slit with his ID is on the right and the horizontal slits with laminated cards are on the left. However, in the close-up when Jack holds it, as the pocket for bills is again at the top, this time the vertical slit with his ID is on the left and the horizontal slits are on the right. Surprisingly, neither are flipped shots. Two different wallets were used in each close-up, though similar in style, the storage slits are on opposite sides.

Continuity: In the scene where Sayid and Shannon are talking over the map and Shannon leaves, Sayid has his head resting against his hand with his fingers in his hair in the close up. When the shot changes his fingers are not in his hair, then when it changes back to a close up, they are again.

Continuity: When Kate and Sawyer go underwater to retrieve the case, in a close-up it is easy to see that the male corpse is barefoot. But in a following close-up, when Sawyer swims up with the Halliburton case - just as the words "Production Designer Carlos Barbosa" appear onscreen - in this specific shot the man is actually wearing a black shoe on his left foot.

Continuity: When Kate and Sawyer begin their swim, Kate is not wearing a bracelet on either wrist, as she heads into the water. In a few following shots, including when Sawyer goes to "See what they got on em," Kate wears a bracelet on her right wrist, but when they head down to retrieve the case, the bracelet is gone as she pulls on the case. After Sawyer frees the case, in Kate's close-up the bracelet reappears, but now it's on her left wrist, yet when they reach the surface the bracelet's on her right wrist. Whew!

Revealing: At the bank, when Kate shoots her accomplice in the leg, the small square indentation on the pants, around the bullet hole, where the stunt device is located, is rather obvious.

Continuity: When Boone is tied up with his right arm in front and his left arm at his back, just after Locke leaves, Boone tries to lean over to reach the knife. However, in the close-up of his back, it's his right arm that is tied behind him. The same flipped shot is used later, three more times, when he "hears" Shannon scream.

Continuity: When Locke throws the knife towards a tied up Boone, it lands at a 45º angle away from him. When Locke leaves, the knife is now upright at a perfect 90º angle.

Continuity: When Boone is tied up, with the goo in his hair, Locke has only his backpack slung over his left shoulder, when he holds the sheath in his left hand as he raises his right arm to throw the knife. After a brief cut to shocked Boone, Locke is in mid-throw and suddenly his second bag is slung diagonally across his chest and shoulder.

Deliberate "mistake": In Boone's flashback in the hotel, you can see the Sydney Opera House out the window which looks nice, except that in order to see the it from that perspective the hotel would need to be EXACTLY where the Harbour Bridge is, but there are no hotels in Sydney that could provide this angle of view.

Continuity: When Sayid opens the lid of the compass to show Jack, in the close-up, all of Sayid's fingernails are short and trimmed, yet, in previous and following shots (including next episode "Special") some of his fingernails (such as the thumbs) are very long again. This occurs in many other episodes, such as "Exodus 2".

Continuity: When Jack shows Locke the case with guns, the bar trim beneath the handle is whole and unbroken. However, in "Whatever the Case May Be" when Boone tries to open the case without the key, the trim beneath the handle breaks off and is damaged.

Other: Ethan kills one of the survivors. Sawyer thinks it's Steve but Hurley corrects him and tells him that it was actually Scott. They make a point of Scott being the deceased and Steve being the one people mix him up with. According to the actors playing Scott and Steve it was in fact Steve who got killed but the producers messed it up.

Deliberate "mistake": The face of "Ethan" that Jack tackles is seen briefly, but it is obviously a stuntman, not William Mapother.

Factual error: Lucy says that the stolen cigarette case was pulled out of Charlie's pocket by the "EMTs". But Lucy is British, and paramedics are not known as EMTs in Britain.

Continuity: When Jack shows Locke the suitcase full of guns, you can see a stick visible in Locke's right hand. However, when Jack asks if Locke knows how to use a gun, you can see that after the camera has panned around, Locke is now holding the gun with both hands, with the stick nowhere to be seen.

Continuity: When Sawyer shoots "Sawyer" there is a 15 ft tall grounded lamppost at the corner of the link fence, with an overhead curved head giving off the dramatic spot of light in the wet darkness, near the trash receptacle. However, earlier when Sawyer gets out of the car at the Sweet Shrimp, as he checks his gun, that towering lamppost is non-existent.

Factual error: In the first scene in Sydney the camera pans from the opera house toward the rich North Shore suburb, except it shows that there are no houses on the shore whatsoever. In reality there are houses scattered across the shoreline.

Factual error: The location of the working dock in Sydney where Sawyer buys a gun doesn't really exist next to the Opera House, as pictured. The reality is the site has a glass cruise ship terminal, not a shabby wooden workshop.

Revealing: In the scene where Charlie and Hurley are starting to dig Ethan's grave, the body in the bag is breathing shallowly.

Visible crew/equipment: When Sawyer finds his blue tarp that the boar ran off with earlier, Sawyer hears the whispers, then the boar reappears and chases him. When the mean old boar flips Sawyer over, the chain link fence (used for the stunt) is clearly visible beyond the grass, at the top right corner of the screen. (Also seen on Disc 7.)

Visible crew/equipment: When Sawyer is tracking the boar, the camera is moving behind Sawyer, and you are able to see the camera's shadow move on the leaves. This happens in the shot before Sawyer gets on his knee checking out the boar tracks.

Continuity: When Shannon is looking for Boone but instead finds his "jungle pal" Locke, he is gutting his dinner and gets blood on his face. The blood on Locke's face repeatedly changes, such as in one shot there's a small clot of blood beside his eye, and in another shot the blood is lower and larger.

Continuity: When Shannon is talking to Locke about Boone staying out of her business, her hair changes between each shot. It is very noticeable, she goes from having no hair on her face, to having a lot hanging down the side of her face.

Continuity: Once Sun leaves the bathroom, Jin's hands begin to shake as he washes the blood off, in fact there is much more blood on his hands now to wash off. Suddenly there is a silver/red soap dispenser on the right of the faucet (this isn't the gold/red one on the left), where the bar of soap was earlier, and there are also two large white towels hanging on the bar, whereas there was only one in all the previous shots. The early part of this flashback is in "House of Rising Sun" and the additional last shot was filmed at a later date.

Continuity: When Jin is packing to leave the cave, his backpack is wide open and unzipped when he swings it onto his right shoulder and then carries the fishing net. After a brief cut to Sun shouting in English, Jin is walking away carrying the net, and the backpack is still on his shoulder, only now it is zipped closed.

Continuity: When Michael thinks Jin has set fire to his raft, he punches him in the face a couple of times. When Jin is leaving Sun later on, his face is miraculously unmarked. There is no sign of any swelling or bruising. He doesn't look like a guy who's just been punched in the face.

Visible crew/equipment: When Hurley is at the new house, after his mom hurts her ankle, he reaches into the car window to get the cell phone. When he begins to dial, the cameraman's arm moving about is reflected in the back chrome of the side view mirror.

Factual error: When Hurley is running through 'Sydney Airport', he runs past a sign that reads 'Kamehameha', which is the name of a Hawaiian king. This sign shouldn't be there if Hurley is in Sydney Airport.

Continuity: When Hurley returns and gives the battery to Jack, Hurley says "She says hey". Then it cuts to a close-up of Sayid and we can see the bag's strap going over his shoulder. When it cuts the strap is gone.

Continuity: When Jack speaks to Michael and Jin, as they build the raft, and then when he walks up the beach and inquires about Sawyer's trouble with his head, the backpack that Jack carries on his back is nylon, black/green with white trim. Yet, when Sawyer asks, "Sensitivity to light, that bad?" the backpack is suddenly transformed into a solid black leather, of an entirely different style. Then, in following shots it jumps back and forth.

Continuity: When Boone tosses the statue out of the plane, in the close-up the entire statue shatters, and the heroine bags spill out as the head flies off to the side. But in the following shot, Locke picks up a large unbroken piece - the head and torso are intact with some bags still inside, and even that piece changes in the next shot.

Visible crew/equipment: When Boone climbs up the vines toward the plane, in the first wideshot there is a rather conspicuous round CG blur at Boone's left hip that moves as he moves. Then in some following wideshots the black stunt belt at Boone's waist is perfectly visible as he makes his way up. In Boone's close-ups no such aids are on his body.

Deliberate "mistake": Jack's left arm is bandaged from Boone's blood transfusion. After the shot of Shannon, as she cries over Boone, Jack sits on the beach in the wideshot and the bandage is on his right arm, but in the following shots it's on his left. Yet another flipped shot.

Continuity: In the scene where Michael and Sawyer are eating some fish on the beach (with Jin working on the raft) a pregnant Claire has a quick conversation with them and heads into the forest. About 20 seconds later Kate runs into Michael and Sawyer, and runs into the forest at full speed. Kate later finds Claire in labour, who somehow had gotten further out than Kate, even though Kate was running at high speed in the woods. There is no way a pregnant girl could have beat Kate to that position, even considering how long it took Jin to find them from the beach.

Audio problem: After Claire's baby is born, when Jack speaks to Kate he says, "It's a beautiful healthy baby," and in the next shot, facing Kate, Jack is still speaking but nothing is heard.

Visible crew/equipment: After Sayid and Essam pull into the garage, when Sayid leaves through the back of the white van and closes the door, there is a lovely clear reflection of the cameraman and camera reflected on the door.

Continuity: Sayid wears a black tank top when he speaks at Boone's burial, and it has a wide shallow tear and small hole at the collar. When he walks away with Jack, who is complaining about Locke, though the style of top is identical, now the tear is narrower and deeper, and the hole is bigger. Throughout this episode the tear, on the tank top Sayid wears, alternates, and the hole even disappears.

Continuity: Just as Sayid walks out of the building (number on both doors is 815), the white van pulls up. When Sayid gets in, in the exterior shot, the door he opens is opened to Sayid's left, but in the next interior shot, the door is opened to Sayid's right (the door to his left is closed). In this shot the building is seen behind Sayid - note the number 815 on both doors have vanished, and the chipped wall paint differs.

Continuity: Jack gives Sawyer a 9mm Sig pistol to take on the raft. When Sawyer pulls it out in "Adrift", it has changed into a Beretta 92F.

Continuity: When Haddad hands Essam the gun in the garage, in Essam's close-up the handle faces Sayid, but in the next shot, the handle faces the opposite way in his hand.

Continuity: In the garage, when Haddad tells Essam and Sayid to stay relaxed and focused, his collared shirt is on properly, but in the next shot, as he says, "Drive with the windows down," the shirt is off his right shoulder. This happens again when Essam takes the gun.

Continuity: When Jack wakes from his close encounter with Kate's sleeping pills, in the close-up his white pillow lies on the blue seat cushion, but in the next shot it lies on the grey blanket, which is spread over the cushions.

Audio problem: When Sayid and Essam sit in the truck with explosives, Sayid says, "Her name is Nadia, they know where I can find her," and in the shot facing Essam, when he is done with that line Sayid's mouth continues to move, but nothing is heard.

Continuity: When Sayid is in Essam's apartment, while they are holding their glasses of tea, the positions of the glasses change between shots. For example, in one close-up the handle is under Essam's fingers, but in the next shot it's on the other side.

Continuity: When Charlie walks with the crying baby on the beach, he meets Hurley and later Sawyer, and then later when Sawyer reads the "engine story" to sooth Turniphead, throughout these shots the baby's blanket constantly jumps off, on, off, etc.

Continuity: When Jack attacks Locke they fall on the ground with Jack on top. Then Jack gets dragged off Locke but when it cuts Jack is still lying on Locke and gets dragged off him again.

Continuity: At the Beachcraft crash site, when Locke hands Sayid the gun, in the shot facing Locke the metal tool chest on the airplane is closed, yet, it's wide open in the next shot.

Continuity: At Essam's place, when Sayid walks toward the smoke alarm he places his tall glass mug with tea on the coffee table. When he drops the "bug" into the tea, in the close-up it is a different glass mug - note the style.

Continuity: When Sayid speaks to CIA Agent Melissa Cole after Essam's death, in the first shot the body laden stretcher is wheeled to the vehicle and the back door is opened. When Agent Cole says, "Plane ticket and walking around money," in the background the stretcher is gone and the door is closed. But when Sayid asks, "What happens to his body?" the stretcher reappears as the body is being put into the open back door.

Continuity: When Kate is at Tom's house, she looks at the photographs on the side of the fridge, and there is a close-up of a specific photo of Tom holding Connor. When Kate sits beside the table in the wide shot, that photo has vanished.

Continuity: When Kate is fleeing with Tom in the car, she slams into the State Trooper's car and the right front end is damaged and a piece of the bumper hangs down. Just after Kate's next close-up, in the next shot from behind, the bumper is fine.

Continuity: When Kate and Tom find the buried lunchbox, in the close-up, as Kate opens the lid the baseball cap is upright, yet, in the next shot just as she removes it, it lies on its side.

Continuity: At the motel, when Kate asks for the envelope addressed to Joan Hart, the employee searches through the box with many envelopes sticking out of the box. However, in the next shot, as he finds it no other envelopes are visible, and when he hands it to her, her sunglasses are now upside down.

Continuity: When Tom removes the toy airplane from the lunchbox, the three propeller pieces are completely broken off of the left wing engine (all are intact on its right wing). Yet, earlier on the island, when Kate twirls the airplane in the air, before Charlie joins her, the left wing engine has grown one piece of propeller that is unbroken. There are other moments such as this, in other episodes.

Continuity: After Kate's confession to the other survivors, she kneels down and scoops up the toy airplane with some sand. However, the next shot is a close-up of the airplane with its nose in the sand, in front of her.

Continuity: When Michael is on his back with stomach cramps, both the rolled up and flat blue and grey blankets under him, keep changing position, depending on camera angle.

Continuity: When Kate burns Joanna's passport photo in the close-up the corner of the book burns up, yet in the wider shot the corner does not burn, and in the next shot another change, including the lighter. Later, when Sawyer holds up the passport, the burned page edge is just a bit singed.

Continuity: When Sawyer dumps Kate's belongings out of the backpack onto the sand, their positions on the sand change between various shots.

Visible crew/equipment: When the raft leaves the island, you can see the shackle and wire used to tow it.

Continuity: When Sun and Jin sit at the table at the airport, both cups' lids are on properly, yet for the "spill shot" one lid is askew, and Sun's hand changes between shots to be in perfect position to knock the cup over. Things on the table instantly change positions, such as the clear plastic croissant container that jumps back onto the red tray. This applies to Exodus 2, as well.

Visible crew/equipment: As the raft sets sail with Walt, when Vincent runs into the water chasing it, Walt shouts, "Stay Vincent!" At the start of the next shot, on the right, the crew's vessel/equipment is quite visible.

Continuity: In the hotel room, while Walt watches TV and when Michael runs after him, the pillows, things on the table, etc., move around between shots.

Audio problem: After the airport scene where Sun spills coffee on Jin, it cuts to Sun approaching Jin while he is fixing and banging on the raft. The banging sound isn't synced with him hitting the raft.

Continuity: When Walt notices the pillar of black smoke, in the overhead shot everyone gathers well behind the raft, including Claire, who was just sitting in front of the bushes in the previous shot. However, in the next shot, all the survivors are now gathered at the side of the raft.

Continuity: While Jin is finishing up work on the raft, Sun walks over and when she holds out her translation notebook, the way she grips it is very different between shots.

Continuity: When Jack and Ana-Lucia sit in the airport lounge she takes out her cell phone when it rings, and in this shot her glass is nearly full and has plenty of ice. Yet, when she leaves a moment later, the glass is nearly empty with no ice whatsoever.

Continuity: When Danielle approaches the beach campsite, in his close-ups, Walt hides beside a tree and holds it with his left hand. However, in the shot between his close-ups, facing Danielle, Walt is hunched over with his hands leaning on his knees.

Continuity: When the group stops to rest on their way to the Black Rock, as Locke speaks to Danielle, he holds the right or left backpack straps with either his right or left hand, depending on camera angle.

Continuity: On the way to the Black Rock, when Danielle removes her sweater Locke notices the long scratches on her arm. Later, when Claire questions Danielle about the actual scratches are very different and their positions differ.

Visible crew/equipment: After Kate throws dynamite down the hole, when Jack pulls Locke up, the green straps (for device used in the stunt) going round Locke's pant leg are clearly visible.

Continuity: When Sayid goes over to Shannon to help her with her luggage her trunk falls down open and some clothes fall out. Then Sayid picks up some shirts. But when it cuts to Shannon grabbing them from him he is holding fewer and different looking shirts than he picked up first.

Deliberate "mistake": On their way back to the hatch with the dynamite, Kate, Jack and Hurley run from the "monster" but Locke runs toward it. When he lands on his back the shot cuts away to the "Lost" logo floating onscreen. When it cuts back to Locke, in this shot the bruise is over his right eye, instead of his left. The shot is flipped.

Continuity: After Sawyer ties the rope to the rudder, they pull him toward the raft. In the shot just before Michael says, "Come on, buddy," the sail is completely up, yet in the previous and following shots the sail is down.

Continuity: At the airport, when Hurley rushes to make his flight the sweat stain on his t-shirt changes drastically between shots, so by the time he boards the plane - it goes from drenched to much less wet.

Visible crew/equipment: After Sawyer is rescued and pulled onto the raft, scenery or a crew boat is visible in the top right hand corner as Michael stands up.

Deliberate "mistake": When Jack hangs onto Locke, after Kate throws the dynamite into the hole, in Locke's next close-up, the wound on his forehead (grazed from Shannon's bullet) is on his right, whereas it's normally on his left. The shot is flipped.

Revealing: Locke is chased and grabbed by the "monster," and is subsequently pulled through the jungle on his stomach. Just after Jack jumps and grabs him, Terry O'Quinn's right pant leg comes up and his black shin pad is clearly visible, as he is being dragged.

Deliberate "mistake": When Shannon carries and drags the luggage (some of Boone's) she breaks down and Sayid speaks to her. When he says, "It won't be too much if I carry it for you," he strokes her cheek with his left hand - note the watch. After he says, "I have a hike to lead," in the next wideshot he's still holding her face with his "left" hand. But, note the lack of watch, and her large suitcase is now backwards. They flipped the shot so his right hand would appear to be his left, to keep hand continuity, but it doesn't work.

Factual error: Hurley arrives at the departure gate and calls to the woman to wait and let him board. As he goes through the gate, a sign with the word 'authorized' is visible to the left. This scene supposedly takes place in an Australian airport, but this is the American spelling - in Australia, the word is spelled 'authorised'.

Continuity: When Sayid and Charlie find Danielle and Aaron, the baby is wrapped in Danielle's sweater. The sweater jumps on and off Aaron's face, etc., depending on various camera angles.

Continuity: In the shot of Michael, just as the raft hits the log, the "ladder" and sail are directly behind him and Sawyer is gone, whereas in the previous and following shots Sawyer stands on the ladder, in that exact spot.

Continuity: On the raft, when Michael walks over to Jin with the translation notebook, as Jin tinkers with the rudder, Jin's hand and handcuff change repeatedly in the following shots.

Continuity: When Charlie inadvertently releases Danielle's trap, he is hit by a downpour of falling rocks. The blood on his face, hands, etc., noticeably changes between shots.

Continuity: In the first shot of Locke sitting in the wheelchair, in the airport lounge, he sits alone directly in front of the long rows of chairs. However, in the next overhead shot, the airline steward is at Locke's side as he sits near the large windows, nowhere near the chairs.

Revealing: After Sawyer jumps into the water to retrieve the rudder, Michael tosses him the rope then shouts, "Tie it around the rudder and we'll pull you in." Three shots later, in Sawyer's close-ups, mountains are visible at the right of the screen, whereas in the previous and following consecutive shots they are surrounded only by water at this point in time.

Visible crew/equipment: As the "rescue" boat nears the raft with Jin, Sawyer, Michael and Walt, it has a spotlight shining on the four aboard the raft. That spotlight is the only light source in the area, yet the boat is bathed in bright light from behind, which also reflects in the boat's pole.

Continuity: In the Oceanic Int'l departure lounge, Locke sits in his wheelchair near the large window, with the doomed plane in the distance. The attendant's desk is on the left, but the black lounge chairs, which are normally situated toward the center of the lounge, are gone in this shot; the chairs at the end of each row should be visible at this angle. These chairs are also seen when Hurley crashes the scooter into them.

Continuity: When Michael sits with Walt at the airport, Michael says, "If you're worried about Vincent," and the newspaper in his hands is folded and held straight up with the blue Oceanic envelope. Yet, when he says, "Dogs fly in the luggage compartment all the time," the newspaper is sideways and there is no blue envelope.

Continuity: At the airport, after Sun spills coffee on Jin, as he heads to the lavatory the large stain on his dress shirt is at the same height as the shirt pocket, yet, in the next shot the stain is much lower, below his stomach.

Other: After Charlie receives a large gash on his forehead, from Danielle's trap, Sayid tries to seal it. When Sayid pours gunpowder in the cut, he leaves a large thick trail beside Charlie's eye and on his cheek, which he does not wipe away. There is a tight close-up of Sayid igniting the gunpowder with the flame. The gunpowder beside his eye and on his cheek should have seared his skin, but it does not. The only severe wound Charlie has later is the closed charred wound on his forehead, and though he does wipe his face back at the cave, the skin on his cheek and beside his eye are fine.

Continuity: In 'House of the Rising Sun' (01-06) Charlie tells Locke the man at Sydney Airport made him check his guitar. However, in this episode, we see Charlie squeezing his guitar into a luggage compartment onboard the plane.

Plot hole: Sawyer pulls the bullet out with his bare hands, we are led to believe, through the cut the bullet made. When you are shot, the flesh immediately seals up, meaning you would need a knife or something like that to get it out. Sawyer only had the gun, as he could not have hidden the knife AND the gun.

Continuity: At the start we see Desmond in the hatch. When the explosion goes off he gears up and runs over to a machine where he turns the music off. The shot of the shelf is a flipped shot.

Plot hole: Seeing as Jin dived in right after Sawyer, to save him, when Sawyer came up Jin should have been right next to him, or at least in view. However Sawyer hears Jin's voice as if he is miles away when he surfaces, and he is not visible at all.

Continuity: Just before Michael says "You're going to pull the bullet out with your bare hands?", Sawyer's hair is very wet and pulled back, as if it were in a pony tail. When the camera switches back to Sawyer saying "You got a better idea?" his hair is a lot drier and covering his face. In the next shot, it is pulled back again.

Continuity: While Jack holds the gun on Desmond, who is running away, the stains on Desmond's garb change, particularly the very large reddish stain on the right side of his chest that disappears in the wide shots.
