Other: On outside shots the front door is on the extreme right. Shots from inside the house show the living room on the left and the door in a central position.
Other: On the exterior front shots of the house you see the front door with three vertical windows. But on the interior shots it is just one window.
Supermarket Story (season 1, episode 10)
Continuity: In the episode when they are at the supermarket, Carrie and Arthur are talking about Carrie making a Thanksgiving meal, and as they are talking the frozen meals in Carrie's trolley change position between shots.
Educating Doug (season 1, episode 8)
Revealing: When they first drive to their class, we see the street lights behind them. When Carrie pulls over to pick up Spence, she turns the steering wheel, but the lights in the back don't turn.
Pilot (season 1, episode 1)
Continuity: When Arthur walks out the kitchen saying about going into a home, Doug's arm moves away from his beer instantly.
Assaulted Nuts (season 2, episode 3)
Revealing: When Carrie phones Doug at IPS, Doug goes to press the button on the phone for the correct line, but doesn't press any and continues to talk to Carrie.
Sight Gag (season 4, episode 2)
Continuity: When Carrie takes Doug into the back yard to yell at him, after she is done swinging at him, she puts her hand up to her chin. First it's her left, then right. It changes between shots. Each time the camera goes back to her it happens.
Arthur, Spooner (season 5, episode 1)
Continuity: When Carrie is starting her new work position, her bag on the desk behind her moves without anyone touching it.
Walk, Man (season 4, episode 1)
Continuity: When Doug and Carrie are arguing about Holly taking Arthur for a walk, Carrie's arms are constantly changing place.
Pilot (season 1, episode 1)
Continuity: When Carrie says that Doug's friends are there, her leg is straight. Camera cuts and now her leg is bent.
Queasy Rider (season 2, episode 1)
Revealing: When Doug comes into the garage the first time, if you look through the garage door, at the end of the fence is a very noticeable crease running vertically. This shows the outside is a fake.
Across whole show
Continuity: In episodes that show the outside of the IPS building, there are some shots that show a mailbox outside of the building, then other shots where the mailbox is missing.
Continuity: In many episodes, scenes are shot on the front porch. It is often shown as a large porch that spans a great deal of the front of the house. But shots of the house exterior from a distance show a small set of stairs with very little space near the door. This isn't a porch on the back of the house as it has been shown to only be door to a small yard.
Continuity: The Home Cheapo Series:
In the scene where Deacon, Kelly, Carrie and Doug are silently debating over who will pay the bill, Doug pushes the bill over to Deacon and it lands diagonally in front of Deacon's beer. In the next shot the bill has changed positions without being touched.
Meet By-Product (season 2, episode 17)
Continuity: In the flashbacks in this episode, Carrie and Doug meet for the first time in a bar, but in the episode "Road Rayge", Carrie mentions a junior high school dance where Doug asked her to dance.
Missing Links (season 4, episode 17)
Continuity: When Carrie finds Tina, she mentions the "stuff" that Tina listens to at work, and Tina tells her that it's salsa. We know from previous episodes that Carrie likes salsa dancing, so shouldn't she know salsa music?
Dog Days (season 1, episode 14)
Continuity: At the end of the episode, the dog looks out the farthest left window (if looking from outside the house) of the three windows to look at his old owners. Immediately Doug looks out the window, and the camera changes shots to outside the house. There are no longer three windows, just two. There is a wall where the window the dog is looking out is supposed to be.
Fixer Upper (season 1, episode 12)
Continuity: Doug finishes playing the tennis game on the TV with Arthur and goes into the kitchen to get the Cheese Doodles. While talking to Carrie, he puts the Cheese Doodle package on the table with a can of cola behind it. He then goes to get a glass from the cupboard and in the next shot you see the cola is in front of the Cheese Doodles.
Icky Shuffle (season 6, episode 23)
Continuity: The second time we see Doug's disk, it is spinning. In one shot it is spinning in shadow, but in the second shot it is in the sunlight.
