Continuity: During the opening scene in the backyard, Deacon finishes his beer and puts it down. In the next shot of Deacon he is holding the beer again.

Continuity: At Carrie's office retreat when Doug is pretending to be on the phone, the guy in the blue shirt at the buffet keeps repeating the same movements and changing position between shots.

Continuity: Carrie tells the preacher that she and Doug met at a bar. When she hears the lie about her falling on Doug as a kid, she believes it and acts as if that was their only meeting before the bar. But in the episode "Road Rayge", she mentioned a junior high school dance where Doug asked her to dance.

Other: When arguing with Carrie about having some of the festive cheese platter, Arthur goes for a "spoon to the wheel of brie", but from a previous episode (Ticker Treat – S4, E6) we found out that Arthur has banned soft cheeses along with celebrating Halloween.

Character mistake: When Arthur questions Carrie about having some of the festive cheese platter, he asks if it has anything to do with 'the appending arrival of Douglas' parents'. Appending is not the right word: he probably meant to say 'impending'.

Continuity: In this episode, Doug looks out his bedroom window and sees his parents and Arthur standing on the porch by the front door, but in season one, the episode when Richie sleeps with their neighbor, Carrie and Doug's bedroom window faces the Sacksi bedroom window.

Continuity: When Carrie finds Doug in the kitchen in the middle of the night, her arms are crossed with her hands tucked into the sleeves. After she asks him about his pay check from IPS, the shot changes and her hands are now on her hips.

Continuity: While at Doug's high school reunion, he and Carrie are dancing. Carrie has her purse on her shoulder. When they go for a beverage, the purse is gone. She was able to put her bun back without having a purse swinging in her face.

Plot hole: In this episode Arthur scams Deacon and several other parents for phony piano lessons because he doesn't actually know how to play the piano. However, earlier in the series (Art House episode, S1 - E24) we learn that Arthur can play the piano when he temporarily moves out and after his house warming party Doug says to Carrie, "Who knew Arthur could play the piano like that?"

Continuity: In the scene when the therapist asks Arthur to recall a specific incident about not being heard from his childhood, he is playing with his pen cap. The shot cuts and he is instantly holding his note pad with both hands.
