On the equation on Quinn's chalkboard, T squared ("T2") appears in several places, a nod to Tracey Torme, Co-director of the series.
Doesn't the timer look a lot like a cell phone? That is because the prop was constructed from the base of an old Nokia. Other timer props used throughout the series were from Sega controllers or Universal remotes.

Also on the Blackboard QPR appears, this is a reference to the British football team "Queens Park Rangers", of whom Tracey Torme's Dad was a player in the 40's.
The man who is homeless in "our" world, and is running for the U.S. Senator in the parallel universe, is the episode's director, Andy Tennant, making a memorable cameo appearance.
