The Taylors in Hollywood - S6-E8
Revealing mistake: While Andy, Aunt Bee, and Opie are at the Hollywood studio watching a scene being filmed, when Andy mistakenly stands up and interrupts the filming we can see the wall and shelves behind the director, and it should look familiar because it's the wall and shelves from Floyd's shop in Mayberry.
Visible crew/equipment: While Andy and Otis are talking about women Barney opens the door and rushes into the courthouse, and behind him we can see a crew member's hand (looks like a woman wearing bracelets) catching the door as Barney swings it shut.
Visible crew/equipment: After Barney tells Andy that the stranger may be a foreign spy Ed Sawyer walks into the courthouse, and behind him a crew member's hand can be seen catching the door just as the door closes.
Visible crew/equipment: When Clara and Opie first sit down at the piano to begin the piano lesson, note there's nothing on the floor behind them. Then that shot cuts to the end of the lesson as the camera pulls back for a wideshot, and now there are two tape marks on the floor near the door in the area where Opie and Aunt Bee will be standing shortly. (00:04:15)
Deliberate mistake: After Barney buys the car from Mrs. Lesh, he and Andy are standing at the steps as he tells her not to look back at the car, and the next shot of Andy and Barney at the front door is the same shot from a few moments prior, but it's been flipped so they would be looking in the opposite direction. (00:09:30)
Continuity mistake: After Ellie tells the Taylors that she's withdrawing as candidate, when she and Andy head over to the rally at the hotel they pass the church, and in the long shot a large sign has suddenly appeared at the front of the church.
Other mistake: Right before Aunt Bee wins the five dollar prize at Wally's station she talks about how she's never won anything, not even the church raffle, and right after she wins she excitedly waves the five dollar bill and says, "I've never won anything before in my life!" However, in season 6 episode "Aunt Bee on TV" the man from the IRS stated that Aunt Bee had won $4,850 worth of prizes on the game show, and even though she sold most of her prizes she kept two of them. So her statement makes no sense even for Aunt Bee.
Visible crew/equipment: While Andy and Barney are standing beside Bobby Fleet's vehicle, Andy mentions that it's too bad they're all not staying overnight so they could hear Jim play, and when it cuts to the next shot we can see the reflection of the overhead boom pole and mic moving on the surface of the vehicle.
Revealing mistake: During the scenes with Opie and Dolly in Walt's barn, the horse is wearing a halter with a ring under the adjustable chinstrap, and in every closeup a thin wire (like picture wire) can be seen attached to the ring as it's being pulled from offscreen to have Dolly turn her head away from Opie. Then later when Walt returns and tries to feed Dolly, once again a thin wire attached to Dolly's halter is pulled from offscreen, so she will turn her head away from Walt. (00:05:55 - 00:18:20)
The Return of Barney Fife - S6-E17
Continuity mistake: At the reunion you see a sign that says class of '48. In season 3 They had a reunion and it said class of '45.
Visible crew/equipment: After Ellie tells Barney that she'll be going to the dance with him, when it cuts to Andy sitting on the porch we can see Aunt Bee's tape mark before she walks over.
Continuity mistake: At the end, when Andy walks in on Barney showing Gomer how to draw his gun, Gomer draws his gun out of the holster which sends it flying behind him, and in the closeup the bookcase glass shatters, but in the wideshot when they all turn to look the glass is still perfectly intact.
Visible crew/equipment: When the partners of the two men locked up in the jail drive up to the courthouse and park, the reflections of two crew members are visible on the car's vent window.
Continuity mistake: When Gomer drops the gun from the roof it lands on the ground directly in front of Andy and Barney, who are standing on the sidewalk beside the courthouse, but the area where they're standing looks different between the overhead shots and closeups, and their shadows change as well. Additionally, the gun lands with its handle to the left, but in the wideshot the gun is lying the opposite way, with its handle to the right.
Opie's Group - S8-E9
Visible crew/equipment: After Aunt Bee asks Clara to speak to Opie, in the interior shot just as Clara walks into the house we can see the two tape marks on the floor, where Clara and Opie will stand.
Opie's Group - S8-E9
Continuity mistake: While the Taylors are having dinner and talking about Opie's band, Opie has a filled dinner plate, salad plate, glass of milk, and flatware spread out on the table in front of him, but it all disappears in the shots facing Aunt Bee and Andy.
Character mistake: In the beginning where Karen is introduced to Andy and Barney in the coffee shop, her name is Karen Worth, then at the last where she is called as winner of the Skeet Shoot her name changes to Karen Moore.
Suggested correction: She is introduced as "Karen Moore". Thelma Lou's pronunciation is a bit off (what she says sounds like 'moor', as in an English moor), but she says "Moore."
Opie's Group - S8-E9
Visible crew/equipment: After Opie leaves Emmett's shop it cuts to the Taylor dining room as Opie is walking away from the server with salt/pepper shakers, and when he sits down we can see the actor's tape mark on the floor by the server. (00:06:25)
Visible crew/equipment: At the start, while Aunt Bee is ironing the bowling shirt, a chalk T-mark is visible on the floor under Opie's chair.
Continuity mistake: After Howard's appearance on the TV show, when he and Andy get back to Mayberry and talk to Opie on the porch, both Andy's tie and Howard's bow tie have striped designs that are positioned differently once they walk into the house, which could only happen if they were retied.
