The Nanny

Shopaholic - S3-E6

Factual error: In the last scene, Fran has a soda cup from In-N-Out, which at the time, of the show, only had one restaurant out of the state of California, in the state of Nevada. Even today (2020), they don't have any stores east of Texas.

Franny and the Professor - S3-E2

Factual error: When Fran is on Jeopardy, she gets a Daily Double question and wagers $1,000 dollars. When she answers the Daily Double question though, she buzzes in first and Alex calls on her to answer. Fran would not have needed to buzz in since the Daily Double can only be played by one person.

The Whine Cellar - S2-E10

Other mistake: When Sylvia is outside the Sheffield mansion she says "I wonder if my daughter Fran is at home? I will see if she is" the doorbell rings as soon as she finishes that line, but you can see both her hands are visible. She can't have rung the doorbell.

Answer: Mr. Sheffield needed someone to manage the kids, not necessarily babysit them. Brighton was a Bart Simpson type, Maggie was shy and awkward and Gracie had personality issues.

Answer: It's a bit of a stretch plot wise, but she is supposed to be more than just a "nanny." She oversees the kid's activities, manages the household, and generally keeps the family running smoothly in the absence of a mother. She is more like a family member rather than an employee.
