Continuity: In the first episode Xena calls her horse Argo a boy, then later in the series he becomes a she.
Chariots of War (season 1, episode 2)
Continuity: Xena leaves Darius' house, where she forgets her chakram. Then there's a shot of her riding Argo, with the chakram attached to her hip. Later Darius shows up to bring the 'missing' chakram to her.
The Path Not Taken (season 1, episode 5)
Continuity: In the scene where the young woman is going to commit suicide, Xena shows her a necklace. In the wide shot Xena is showing the wood part. In the close up you see the emblem.
Beware Greeks Bearing Gifts (season 1, episode 12)
Revealing: At the end when Xena is fighting Deiphobus, he pushes her up against a large rock, every time she hits the rock it moves, as if it were foam.
Visible crew/equipment: As the people of Troy are about to be attacked by the warriors in the horse, the camera pans up to the side of the wall where Deiphobus is talking with another soldier. You can see a crew member crouching down behind them wearing a white and grey shirt.
Revealing: In the beginning battle, as the Trojans fight from the top of the gates of the city, one falls off. The entire Stone Wall shakes when he hits it.
Continuity: In the first battle, Xena throws the chakram and it lands in a guy's chest. We see her kick another warrior with her chakram on her belt. Then she runs and pulls it out of the 1st warrior.
The Greater Good (season 1, episode 21)
Revealing: When Xena 'dies', her pulse is checked, and they can't find one, yet you can see her pulse in her neck.
Revealing: When Gabrielle is hitting her staff against the tree and screaming, if you look carefully for the last hit, the staff is bent. Most of their props were rubber with a metal rod inside them. The actress bent the metal rod because she was hitting so hard.
Callisto (season 1, episode 22)
Continuity: When Xena and Callisto charge each other on horseback, Callisto cuts Xena's right arm. When Xena turns Argo around, the cut has switched to her left arm.
Revealing: When Xena is explaining to Gabrielle what happened at Cirra, her native New Zealand accent can be plainly heard when Xena says "ordinary".
Death Mask (season 1, episode 23)
Continuity: When Xena and Toris are in the dungeon and the guards come in, Xena's boots change for a moment, then change back.
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (season 2, episode 4)
Visible crew/equipment: When Gabrielle is entering the festival, after the camera is done showing all the dancers and returns to her, look at the right side of the screen by the entrance. There is a propane tank visible.
Return of Callisto (season 2, episode 5)
Revealing: After Xena gets out of that chair, she does a swinging kick from her whip and you get a shot of her feet connecting with her victim's chest. The fake feet that are used are seen bending backwards.
The Quest (2) (season 2, episode 13)
Continuity: When Autolycus jumps out of the dagger vault, the door swings shut. In the rest of the scene, the doors are open.
A Day in the Life (season 2, episode 15)
Revealing: When Xena and Gabrielle are in the hot tub, there is a part where Gabrielle turns to face Xena, and when she does the actress stood up to far. You can see her bathing suit when she is supposed to be naked.
Blind Faith (season 2, episode 18)
Continuity: When Xena ties Palaemon to the board, the close ups show the rope going through his palms, and around his wrist. When he stands up, the rope is tied near his elbows.
The Lost Mariner (season 2, episode 21)
Audio problem: In the scene where Xena is telling Gabrielle there is a side effect to the pressure point for sea sickness, one of those being you can't taste anything, Gabrielle comes to that realization and says "raw squid" but her mouth movements are "raw fish"
A Comedy of Eros (season 2, episode 22)
Continuity: There is a shot on the ground of all of Xena and Draco's body armor that they've taken off while arm wrestling. Soon after, Xena gives Draco a rub down, and her arm bands are back on.
Continuity: While Xena is putting back on all her armor after her swim, her hair constantly changes. First it is under her right strap, then over, then behind her shoulder, then back over her strap again.
Audio problem: When Xena says "It seems so haphazard" the word haphazard is said with her Kiwi accent.
Revealing: Just as Cupid's son flies up to get an arrow, you can see the wire holding him up to make him fly. Only visible in the quick shot of the child over the bed.
Been There, Done That (season 3, episode 2)
Continuity: In the scene when Joxer is saying the "enemy of my enemy", when the view is on Joxer he has nothing in his hands, but when it is an over the shoulder shot you can see he is holding a horse shoe.
The Debt (2) (season 3, episode 7)
Other: At the end when it shows that Xena did kill the "green dragon", you can see his eyes move when the camera pans around his face to show the hair clip in his temple.
Continuity: When Xena is thrown into the water dungeon, she talks to a man who was there when Loa ma was killed. In the flashback you see him in the background watching as Loa ma is proceeded in and he has short hair. Later in the episode, Xena is having the same thing happen. The same people are in the background including the man who is supposed to be in the dungeon with the shorter haircut.
The Quill Is Mightier (season 3, episode 10)
Continuity: When Gabby is beating up the barbarians, the end of her staff is in the ground. There are two close up shots of her staff. The first has her staff in a hole, surrounded by dirt. The second shot shows her staff with no hole, and surrounded by straw, not dirt.
Continuity: When Joxer lays down the scrolls on the table, they are rolled up with each side touching each other. A moment later, when there is a close up of the scroll, they are slightly unrolled, with the quill placed between them. There was no quill there a moment before.
Maternal Instincts (season 3, episode 11)
Continuity: When Solan is crying to Xena that he wants to come live with her, there is one shot on him where all his tears and tear tracks have disappeared. They appear again in all the subsequent shots.
Revealing: When Kaleipus is dying, his eyepatch is not on his eye properly, and you can see his real eye under the eyepatch several times, although the character is supposed to only have one eye.
Audio problem: Xena says to Gabrielle about Solan, "Some tracker, huh?" This sentence is said in her native Kiwi accent, not the 'American' accent of her character.
Continuity: Watch Gabrielle's arms when she points her staff at the little girl when she sneaks into the hut. When the shot is from the front, her back arm is up and over the staff. When seen from behind, her arm is much lower, and under the staff.
The Bitter Suite (season 3, episode 12)
Revealing: When Xena drags Gabrielle with the whip behind her horse, you can see in some shots it is a dummy - as the arms are in a static position. In other shots, Gabrielle is a man, as shown by how much larger she suddenly gets.
One Against An Army (season 3, episode 13)
Continuity: When Xena gets a pot of boiling liquid and drags it across the floor, it's half empty. When Gabrielle empties it over the bad guys, it's now full to the top.
King Con (season 3, episode 15)
Continuity: In the casino scene Xena is wearing a ruby necklace. Right after Xena kisses Rafe she is looking up and you can see part of her shoulder and you don't see the chain, then from another angle you see the necklace.
When In Rome... (season 3, episode 16)
Continuity: When Gabrielle is standing in the stadium at the end, they show a close up of the ring on her hand, then switch to a quick wide shot of her. Her hands are in different positions in the two shots.
Forget Me Not (season 3, episode 17)
Continuity: When Joxer and Gabby are in the woods and he's trying to explain who he is and give her back her memories, the shots from behind Gabby are much windier than the shots in front of her. Her bangs are blowing around quite a bit from the back, and hardly move in the shots from the front.
Sacrifice (2) (season 3, episode 22)
Revealing: When Hope and Gabrielle are talking, and Gabby says she's sorry the poison didn't kill Hope, look when the camera is on Hope and behind Gabby. Since Renee O'Conner plays both parts, a double is used from the back. The double is really bad. Her build is way too small and un-muscular to be Gabby.
Adventures in the Sin Trade (2) (season 4, episode 2)
Revealing: When Xena and the other Amazons see the remains of the Amazons Xena killed, look carefully in the wide shot. The skeleton in the foreground {lower right side of the screen) has his middle finger up.
A Family Affair (season 4, episode 3)
Continuity: When Gabrielle sees Lilla for the first time she has her hand over Lilla's mouth and through that whole scene, between shots, Gabrielle's hand keeps changing positions.
In Sickness and In Hell (season 4, episode 4)
Continuity: When Gabrielle, Xena, And Joxer come out of the tavern and see Argo for the first time, Gabrielle is on Xena's right, and Joxer is on the left. Then when the camera shows the group again they have switched, and they switch back to the original sides in a third view of the group.
Continuity: Right after Xena turns Joxer's hat around, she is standing there with her arms, crossed. Angle changes, and her arms are to her side, then she crosses her arms again. Happens again several times during this scenes when the shots change, her arms cross and uncross again.
Continuity: Xena splashes the stew in Joxer's face, his right temple is bare. When he turns around and the camera angle changes, he suddenly has a large clump of stew on his right temple.
A Good Day (season 4, episode 5)
Revealing: Xena cuts the throat of a Roman Warrior during battle, there is a red line on his neck prior to the cut, and the knife makes no mark on his neck.
Daughter of Pomira (season 4, episode 11)
Revealing: When one of the Horde Warriors kills one of Xena's men, he slits his throat. You see the slit throat and blood before the Warrior makes the cut.
Continuity: When Milo is doing flips towards Xena during the fight, his scabbard doesn't have a sword in it. It even bends. Then when he stands up to fight, the sword has reappeared.
Continuity: Xena kicks Milo's sword out of his hand, so he bends down to pick up the knife. When he turns around, his sword is back in his scabbard.
Continuity: When Pilee is banging against the gate, the first shots show the brace on the door at an angle, then the subsequent shots show it suddenly straight.
If The Shoe Fits... (season 4, episode 12)
Continuity: When Gabby is looking for cooking utensils while Xena is sitting there playing with the leaf, Gabby's hair is markably different than in the rest of the episode. It appears as if she's wearing a wig, her hair is redder, and much puffier. Most of the time she has her back to the camera, but when she turns around, it's very obvious that she's wearing a wig. This may have been an insert shot done later, as Renee O'Conner did cut her hair for an episode done just a few weeks later.
Revealing: When Alesia is hanging off the cliff, the long shots are obvious doubles. Alesia is a 7 year old girl, and the double is an adult, the legs are much much longer.
Visible crew/equipment: At the end, when Gabrielle is telling Xena why she came back, look to the right of Gabrielle's head. You see a car drive by on the hill in the distance.
Paradise Found (season 4, episode 13)
Revealing: As Gabrielle is coming up above the water, you can see just below the water line, her tan body suit, when she is supposed to be naked.
Continuity: When Gabrielle is stitching Xena's leg, on the shot of Gabrielle, her hand was down on the leg. The shot cuts to Xena and her hand is up in the air pulling on the string.
Continuity: As Gabby is walking and talking with Aiden, from the back, you see her arms slightly bent in front of her, probably with her hands held. From the front, her arms are straight down at her sides.
Devi (season 4, episode 14)
Continuity: When Gabrielle is possessed and Eli is trying to cast the demon out, on the close-up of him you see his hand in the air, but then when it cuts to Gabrielle convulsing you see his hand on his knee.
The Way (season 4, episode 16)
Continuity: When Gabby is kidnapped and taken away, she's left her sari in the temple. But when she's freed at the end, she suddenly has it back.
Continuity: Gabrielle is in the temple, she is standing behind the monkey guy. In a single frame, she moves from standing still looking forward with her staff next to her, to her standing with her head tilted leaning on the staff.
Continuity: When Xena flips into the tree, her sword disappears, then appears after she lands.
The Play's The Thing (season 4, episode 17)
Continuity: When Joxer is painting the set, in the far shot he's using side to side brush strokes, and it doesn't look like any paint is on the brush. On a quick close up, he's making hash marks, and there's a lot of paint on the brush.
The Convert (season 4, episode 18)
Continuity: Najara smears blood all over her left cheek during her fight with Xena, then a bit later, the blood smear is smaller, and more on her lower cheek, rather than all over it.
Revealing: When Xena is climbing up into the tree, you see a clear shot of her stunt double's face.
Continuity: When Gabby bends down to Najara, her sari is pinned in the back. There's a quick shot to Xena, and her sari is now flowing freely at her sides.
Takes One To Know One (season 4, episode 19)
Continuity: During the fight, Joxer is hiding behind Minya. The shot changes to a wide shot, and Joxer is running out of the room.
Endgame (season 4, episode 20)
Revealing: Xena rides by on her horse, Argo. It is her stunt double, and not Lucy Lawless.
Revealing: When Xena throws the chahkram at the tree limb, the limb is visibly cut before the digital chahkram slices through it.
Continuity: As Amarice falls out of the tree, she is seen falling on her back with her feet in the air. She lands on her feet then falls on her back.
The Ides of March (season 4, episode 21)
Plot hole: Xena is posing as a guard outside of Caesar's office. She knocks out the 2nd guard and throws him on the ground. Moments later, about 10 guards walk by, but no one notices the passed-out guard on the floor.
Continuity: When Xena and Gabrielle are talking about how Xena is going to kill Cesar, on the line "please don't follow me" we see Xena touch Gabrielle's shoulder, but when it is just a close-up of Gabrielle, you don't see a hand on her shoulder.
Continuity: Gabby is stabbing the guard and realizes what she's doing, she raises the knife, looks up at it, and drops it. Then there's a wide shot of her being surrounded by other guards and she does this motion again.
Continuity: While fighting, we see Xena from the back, her sword has fallen off her back, and is hanging upside down from her waist. As soon as the shot changes, we see her sword back upright as it should be.
Revealing: When Callisto holds the chakram with one finger, you can see the stick she's holding that makes it look balanced on her finger.
Revealing: As Xena watches the dead being put into the wagon, one body is rolled over. You see the man move his arm quickly to shield his fall.
Revealing: When Brutus is capturing Gabrielle, the metal plates on his helmet move, and appear very flimsy. They hardly look strong enough to protect him as a helmet should.
Revealing: In the beginning battle scene, the long shots of Amarice are a stunt double, her face is shown quite a bit.
Continuity: As Gabby and Eli talk, they hold hands in front of his chest, when the camera changes his right hand is on her face. He then moves his hand off her face, to her shoulder, the camera cuts and they are holding hands in front of his chest again.
Continuity: A man is sitting to the right of Gabby and hands her an apple, she hands it to Eli on her left. When the shot goes wide, the closest person to Gabby's right is quite far away.
Continuity: When Gabby hugs Eli, his hands are on her face, and her hands are around his wrists. When the camera changes to an angle behind Gabby, her hands are flat on his in an instant.
Fallen Angel (season 5, episode 1)
Continuity: When Amarice shows Joxer that Xena and Gabby are dead, Joxer immediately puts his right hand up to his mouth in anguish. The shot changes and instantly his left hand is over his mouth.
Purity (season 5, episode 6)
Continuity: In the scene where Gabrielle and Joxer are lining up the rockets, Gabrielle takes on a whole bunch of troops and she has armlets on matching her chin outfit, but when it cuts to Renee's stunt double, she doesn't have on the armlets. And it is like that throughout the whole scene.
Married with Fishsticks (season 5, episode 15)
Continuity: When Gabrielle pushes Aphrodite into the cake, you can see her wig move back from her forehead.
Revealing: In the scene where "Crustacea" is being hung upside down in the water by the children, you can see her wig detaching on the sides by her ears.
The Haunting of Amphipolis (season 6, episode 2)
Revealing: When Xena comes in and checks on Gabrielle, a possessed Gabrielle is hanging from the ceiling naked. In the long shot you can see her nude suit and the wires holding her up.
To Helicon and Back (season 6, episode 15)
Revealing: There is an Amazon ritual being performed where the character has to be cut on the arm, but you can see the blood on the knife before the blade touches her arm.
Soul Possession (season 6, episode 20)
Continuity: This episode is supposed to take place sometime back in the third season. Well in the third season Xena has her regular chakram, not the yin yang one. Yet when Joxer and Xena are talking in the forest you see the yin yang chakram on her belt.
